Football / Re: Scoreless draw as Warriors can't find was past Belize.
« on: March 25, 2013, 07:39:10 AM »
Is almost like a desperation thing now with TT. Man talking about good performance against  Belize. This is an opposition of
purely local based players, have very little experience in International football and we seem almost relieved to tie the game.
Performance alone needs to be questioned, if not the lack of a result. Predictable football boarding on boom kick, long balls up to Jones or diagonal
long passes to the left side. That is the extent of the offensive tactics? Then the defending, players left exposed, no cover for the challenging player,
no frontal cover for the back line, if and when play break down leaving big holes on counter attack.  My reaction to watching the game was thank god
we only played Belize.

For man who talking about first stopper :banginghead:

So yuh know Mr ANC2 I have de Puncheon right here next to de type writer.. help me out because  I have in a few  and I like to talk first and think later ..Two coaches.. coachin 2 teams independently ..what is the expected outcome.Tell me please?

First read my post on this site & then read yours and tell me who comes across as knowing everything.  :-\
Second, how you get your type writer to work on the message board? Hope the carbon paper don't mess up your screen  :D
To answer you, it make as much sense as two head coaches for one team. Who say anything about Independently, they are responsible for the program. The coaches in collaboration could put the teams together , training and play each other in a series of games. I recently watch Klinsman do the same thing in January with USA. It even looked
as though he matched up challenges, his better attackers against his best defending line.
TT has two  squads at the moment, one was used in the Digicel & the other versus Peru. With the lack of funding for International games & preparation, thinking and planning has to be flexible and adaptive. Begin with approximately 30+ players, bringing the squad down to 22.  TT needs to train together  and this is the ideal opportunity, before the GC, and if we lucky International preparation games. You and everyone involved has to consider that the MLS, USL, NASL & local based players will not be available for a long preparation.2-3 days before the first & second  FIFA date and then another 2-3 days before the third and fourth FIFA Date in June. Then 5- 7 days before the GC July.

Four separate International dates before GC. So potentially 4 International games & then 15 days before game one.
Players can be well prepared, because they will have all of June off. Now the locals will be playing in the League, hope
TTFF working now to secure a release agreement. I like AB Trini plan.  pick 2 teams and play a series of games
then come down to a 22, for the International games. Shabazz could coach one team, Charles the other.

Mr Sherwood is light years ahead..hmm..what is La Foucade doing in Port-of Spain? What is different ? Can anyone tell me please.
A man talk about what the Spaniards are doing ..the Spaniards always produced some of the world's finest players..silkiest of touches etc..etc..etc.. can we do that in Trinidad?  Have we ever produced any player like Mata, or Xavi or Iniesta? Would we ever do it?  Absolutely not.
We have however, produced Warren Archibald, Jan Steadman, Leroy Deleon, Steve David, Tony Douglas, Everald Cummings, Leroy Spann, Victor Gamaldo, Michael Maurice, Shaka Hislop, Dwight Yorke, Leonson Lewis,Russel Latapy, Jap Brown,Sedley Joseph, Richard Chinapoo.....I don't know if we getting a visual of the players I am calling out..
These players are all naturals ..they developed themselves as kids ..they did it   by  natural selection..survival of the fittest as you may call it  surfaced to the top and made a name for themselves internationally..there was  one player ..whom I have never seen play football who I failed to mention is Bobby Sookram.
We have a way of doing things in Trinidad where we like to reinvent the wheel..especially where football is concerned..all I am saying is we should take a more streamlined approach when we talking bout Academy..in every major sporting country on this planet, an Academy is a place where the BEST possible prospects are sorted out based on whatever the criteria established ( measured for consistency)
are housed, fed, educated and trained for that particular sport.
If that's what Mr Sherwood is doing then.. and only then.. he is light years ahead.
coache I have read all your post, you need to put down the bottle before you type. At least read the post before you respond. Your discussions like the post above are so contradictory it is not funny. Maybe like Shabazz you have too much knowledge, which most seem to come from a book. What exactly outside of coaching courses & some youth coaching have you actually done in football. Did you play? Have you ever coached a professional team and actually had to manage the players & team. ODP, Academy anything.
You giving advice  left right & center based on what I can gather coaching some youths in the US. Which one of your intelligent players that your produce playing on a top class team. You talking about coaching & development, then on the other hand describing Trinidad & Tobago legends as Naturals. If players of that pedigree  can reach where they reach Naturally, then why  would you think coaching is the only way forward.
Take time settle down.

Football / Re: Under 17s in Costa Rica for training camp.
« on: February 21, 2013, 08:27:48 AM »
Also if these new coaches want to consult with the old guys, I am sure they would welcome it. Also their training methods is no secret..their are many players who have been coached by these men and I am not only referring to those coaches you have mentioned ..there are many old coaches in Trinidad who have not made a name for themselves like SinClaire but the emphasis was the same.
Sean Cooper had Carl Osborne..many south players had Doc Henderson, Adrian Chandler, Peter Mitchell, Jan Steadman, Rawl Aimey, Edgar Vidale, Dick Furlonge, Steve Khan, Danny, Isa Mohammed..players in the north had Jap Brown, Roderick Warner, Jean  Lillywhite, Gally Cummings, Sharkey, La Forest, and many others which I can't recall at this time and none of these guys would be having discussions about systems ..the player would always be the focal point.

When Hart was TD in Canada he said in the media that far too many coaches worry about teams and not individuals. He had proposed  coaching courses that deal strictly with Children and Youth development, where coaches can become certified specialist in this area. I could not find the article, but I believe he said that France and Holland already
offer such specialist courses. People in Canada can probably tell me if this was ever achieved.

What I find very strange is that nobody verifying that they have seen Daryan in the last two months.

The story leaked a few weeks ago practically shouted that it was the Warner family and not a peep from them.

VB

Jack said on news last night that neither of his sons is in custody and he dared the media houses to print/broadcast  any statements to the contrary.

When was the last time we have seen any investigative journalism in Trinidad. Media in TT using Google, no leg work and research what so ever.

truetrini I have to respect  that you travel and support the team. But like you lime and drink too much with Anton dem.

What does this mean? "Martinique are no where close to being better than T&T nor is Cuba, although they thoroughly deserved to win against us."  Both teams show a better team game than, T&T.  At least Cuba bring down the ball and play, is one set ah boom kick we play. Pure seagull & pigeon ducking.

Quote: We gave Haiti way too much respect and I suspect they did the same for the game while technically sound from a  defensive stand point was woeful from the attacking perspective. You ever think the passing & dribbling was so bad, that it make the defending look good?

Anyway I like the team spirit thing and maybe just maybe we will pull it together come GC. Anyway, in my way of thinking GC is time to experiment & build towards WC Qualification for 2018. If we keeping Charles (hope they throw way Shabaaz), we need some kind of Technical, Tactical Adviser

Supporting my home through and through, but Anton please shut up. We qualified.  :applause: but the reality is we played poorly and was dam lucky to qualify. Nutten wrong with that.
The team did not pass the ball well, looked ragged and out of ideas when attacking and showed no organization in the middle of the field.
The back four looked solid & that was positive and with the exception of one keeping error, the keeper was solid.

Come on man we play and tie Dominica Republic (who outplay we), get licks from Antigua and end up winning on penalties against Martinique. Then we loss to Cuba.  Stop trying to paper over the obvious cracks and talking like nobody eh see the games or know football.

He doing what he believes they needed. Things like this need to start from a young age.
I would question the clubs and schools. You cant wait for players to come to a National team &
develop all those qualities in two weeks. Is a mental conditioning thing developed over years
Everyone talks about college and all that, but the step from college to International ball is huge. Like people eh watch
the FIFA U20 competition, teams operating like seniors and players moving like man.
I watch some college ball this year and really most of the teams looked to lack organization and depending on one or two individuals. In general the players display a
lack of urgency and their body language quite frankly look only interested when the ball come to them.
Stop blaming local National coaches & put the blame where it belong, on the entire system (or lack of it)

I eh wah see this man a billion miles close to TNT team...
war

Don't judge the man on 1 game. Those players are pure quitters, softer than custard
Canada beat T&T with 5 players who play vs Honduras
Hart coach a poor Canada Team to 10 points. Which allowed two other teams to qualify.
When Canada had a respectable big German coach he manage just just 1 win versus Panama and loss twice to T&T
Then the next coach fail to get even 5 points
Then the next coach 1 point

I following Canada for years and that team only have 2 or 3 footballers at best

Honduras hit Canada- 8-1. Panama tie with Cuba- 0-0. Honduras and Panama in the Hex. Mexico and Costa Rica from the other group. USA and / to make the hex

how de heck did honduras give canada 8?? ??? ??? ???

Same ting I asking myself...

Canada had no depth. Dwayne De Rosario was sidelined with an injury and without him, dey get licks.  Coincidence?

Media reports suggest that Stephen Hart will likely "vacate his post".  Here is what Colin Linford, the ex-President (he resigned in 2007 in 'frustration' in 2007) of the Canadian Soccer Association said:

"Until you get a world-class coach ... you're always going to have your back against the wall... Stephen Hart's a nice guy. I think he's a very nice guy. But if you're looking for a coach of a national team ..."

8-1?

Linford lasted like a fart in Woodford Square. How did big time foreign coach Holger Osieck work out for Canada in the WCQ. he won one game vs Panama. Big steups. Dem players deserve no pay for that game, they fold like old lady neck vs Honduras. Forrest is ah idot but he got it right. Every player should give hart an apology.

Remember guys, Jack Warner is KING of Trinidad and Tobago and the faster you guys learn to accept this the easier your heart will burn you.

No money for the current TTFF until they resign and it will continue to be this way, I will personally make sure of this.

You see it took 5 years for the 2006 Soca Warriors to calm down, now the TTFF will have to go through the same fete, Jack will strangle them until they eventually break.

The Trinidad and Tobago team will face FIFA saction very soon.

Football in T&T will be dead and this site will soon follow as their will be nothing to write about or publish. Jack wins again and the funny thing is, he is not even in football anymore...!!!!
Just cool, a personal message for you, Jack is the smartest blackman you will ever meet.

Jack will rise again and the world will beg for him to come back and I hope he says NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plz explain to me how the death of football in this country makes Jack Warner a winner.

Ent, Men have real misguided goals. The man happy it have no football in the country and proud of it. Football doesn't belong to anyone

what do you expect when the poster is Jack himself (Directly or indirectly)! It just goes to show the selfishness of the man. Thief all the money and then party when the game dies and players suffer.

Football / Re: Spanish Football
« on: April 06, 2012, 06:41:20 PM »
What we see of Spain today did not happen overnight.

A lot of the present day Spanish look can be attributed to a gentleman by the name of Horst Wein. He is renowned worlwide as the coach of coaches. He revolutionised the way to coach football in what he calls his Football Development Model. In a nutshell, it is designed to teach youth players to think for themselves i.e. game intelligence.

He is German but has been working out of Spain since the early 1980's. He worked cooperatively with the CEDIF (Center for Research and Studies) of the Royal Spanish Football Federation.

He introduced his methodology to the youth coaches of Barcelona back in the 80's and it is on this their foundation was built.

He developed his methodology for field hockey (coached team to olympic silver medal) and adopted it to football.

He spent a lot of time in T&T back in the 70's working with our national hockey progran.

Ragga I was in Spain two years ago and spoke with several youth coahes. Wein was part of their field hockey development in the region. He did adapt his model to football and present to the Royal Federation. He also spent a few weeks at Barca, but was removed once Cruyff took the job (he did not last long). Wein claims are well known (in his books anyway), but in Spanish football circles, don't tell them Wein was responsible for the present state of their football development.

PS: Don't shoot the messenger

Canada going to lose all their games  ::)

I hope our women's teams are watching these games...let them see that Canada isn't the unconquerable  giant that we in Concacaf think they are.

they cant compete internationally again, Countries have overtaken them now. They need a new gameplan . And our women should see the kind of work it takes to play big woman football now

Wait! Did they not win the CONCACAF Zone. They did not perform in the tournament, it happens. In the men France 2002 & Italy 2010 both did not perform in those tournaments. France did not even score a goal. yet in 2006 they make the final. That is how a tournament goes sometimes.

concacaf and international stage is different, even the Canadian commentators say the team not ready to play againt these big nations , and things need restructuring

My point is they get a big name coach demanding plenty money. They win CONCACAF with USA & Mexico, they beat Brazil in Brazil, Sweden, and England in competitive Tournaments. Then everyone pick them to be in the medals. The coach was basking in the praise, never once mention nutten about league or restructure. When they burn out all the talk start and the coach hiding behind all the excuses. The same commentator you mention admitted he was talking to the coach at length, so he only repeating her words

Ill give you WFs answer
"it was a huge success, biggest attended sporting event in the history of mankind
Canada is on the verge of becoming a world football soccer power in terms of both support and squad."

Like LSD making a comeback. Read your statements good. canada play some decent football for the first time in their history at the Gold Cup. OK. But World Power. Not even CONCACAF power. Your last game drew less than 7000 people. As for those numbers FIFA put up, what utter shit. The only way those numbers add up is if each double header game the crowd count as double. So if 20,000 watch game one and the same 20,000 stay for game two it count as 40,000. You do the math. I waiting to read how much money Canada loss on this event. Notice they have not come out and say we made profit, news they badly need for their image at the moment, so more than likely they in a hole.
