I was disappointed in tonight's performance too, but I trust that the added pressure while playing in Bahrain will help the team positively.
The Mexico game was a MUST WIN, and we did it. In Bahrain, we really don't have anything to lose. We must go all out.
I thought the style of play was hesitant, unconfident and almost as if they were afraid to go foward. The warriors reminded me of the 2002 Saudi team.
We DID have our chances though - that rasping low shot early in the first half, that powerful low header, and Yorke just shooting wide. Thank God Birchall captialized.
That free kick we won - we should have done much better with that. Instead of choosing power, perhaps a better decision would be to curl it around the wall : something Latapy can do.
It was only in the last 5 minutes I saw the same Warriors team that beat Mexico and Guatemala. Only then did the flair and creativity come.
We could criticize Bahrain for killing time in an unsportsmanlike way, that's their way of gettin the job done, so we must get the job done OUR way. Attack, attack, attack like never before.
This should have been the game to win - but also, we did not lose. Let us keep the faith for Wednesday.
