I don't agree that this should run in tandem with the PFL season but it might work in the offseason. This used to be quite big in the UK in the late 80's and 90's (that is pro teams playing in indoor tournaments) and is still a very successful practice in Europe. Right now, indoor 'masters' (ex pro's) football is a big draw here in the UK during the Summer. This is indoor football in the American sense of it and not Futsal by the way.

Football / Re: When will Rahim get UK residency?
« on: April 10, 2005, 01:52:54 PM »
Tuh get residency you need to be living in the UK for 5 years or be sponsored by a UK national as far as I am aware.  Unfortunately residency does not equal freedom of movement in Europe just the UK. Meh mother has residency here but still had to get ah visa to go to France last year. Rahim is wastin his time in Falkirk but at least if he gets residency maybe teams down south might be more willing to take a gamble. In his current situation he would'nt get a new work permit as he would have to apply for a new one to move clubs but the man doh play!

All my best wishes to Brent, from what I saw of him at Northampton and for T&T he had great potential. Sadly he has'nt progressed it seems :(

Edwards and Lawrence finish the Game...did'nt see the whole thing so ah doh know if Sam play. Edwards was class...a cut above the rest of the players. Lawrence was nothing special from the 20 mins of normal time and 30 mins of extra time i saw. Final score 2-0 to Wrexham over Southend.

Football / Re: Best ever T&T club team
« on: April 03, 2005, 01:48:03 PM »
I have to agree, definitely Defence Force or as they were called in the old day's.... Regiment, (I think they were called that :'() they have always been competitive and are T&T's most successful team by a mile.

Meh 2nd place teams would be Trintoc and ASL. Police had a good few years in the late 80's early 90's as well.

The yardstick has to be success in regional competitions and against foreign opposition and these four had that.

Jabloteh been around for ah long time but with only recent success and W Connection aint got no history AT ALL!!!

Football / Re: Some live Concacaf Football for the UK Based Trini's

Well, ah watch the little pregame preview of the US and Mejico and all I will say is the two times they metion T&T the studio guests start creasing up with Laughter(and one of the panel was French!). They think Mexico, the US and Costa Rica will qualify. They doh care bout the other place cause they did'nt seem tuh have an ounce of respect(or care) for the other three teams in the group. Typical! >:(

If anyone interested, Eurosport is showing Mexico vs the USA live from 7pm tomorrow, there is apparently a bit of a pregame build up in the next 15 or 20 mins. If you don't know already ::) Eurosport is a free channel so any Digital or cable reciever will have it. They have been showing highlights from all over the globe in the past hour and carried some Asian qualifiers live yesterday....so you never know T&T vs Guatemala might get a passing mention ;)

Football / Re: Is T&T's UK obsession good for its players?
« on: March 21, 2005, 02:46:40 PM »
Why are so many T&T players in the UK? Its pretty simple to me!  If you can find a cheap source of players that do an adequate job and you have the chance of finding the occasional jem...would'nt you keep delving? The UK tried it first...other countries already have their own proven sources.

The French do it in French speaking Africa, the Dutch did it (till recently) in Surinam, The Greek league does it with its ex-Sovietblock neighbours. Notice, that there are'nt many Trini's in the Premiership, but lots were the money is more scarce i.e. Scotland and the lower leagues. Mexican Teams prefer Spanish speaking players, also if you fellas haven't noticed by now...they don't rate T&T players very highly. Why gamble on T&T players who cyah even speak spanish when they have 100's of thousands of Spanish speaking players all around them to chose from. Why no T&T players in other leagues? Simple again, they already have there own proven pools of cheap foreign Talent to draw from. If you want T&T players to go to other leagues, they first have to take a gamble like Spann and then the player must be a bit successful. Then things might change.

Football / Webite fuh you gents tuh Check out!

Got this link via a poster in Roger James news group.

Its got uptodate video match summaries of all major Euro leagues...check it out quick as these things tend to get shutdown pretty fast. Video is fairly good quality as well.

Shaka was a studio guest with Ed de Goey (fuh 2 hours!) on Sky's 'Goals on Sunday' programme weekend before last. He is a quality individual but could'nt hide his dissappointment about being on the bench and looked a bit uncomfortable in the studio, still, I enjoyed his input...excellent!

Cool new messageboard Flex and Tallman...love it! You bring it out just at the right time! When I'm on leave...thanx fella's :D
