just speculation..  you forget the man is 21 and paying CL making money against Chelsea.. he will play anywhere but to come home and play CB vs Guyana, I sorry to judge but I get the feeling he is a starboy and I just cant see him putting in the same shift that he would for Torres vs f**king Jackie Chan of Guyana

I dont want the risk.. Power James played everygame under Otto.. he not going to change that now.. Birchall Hyland go sit and protect and Hector on top of them with Jones ST and Peltier Molino on the wings

Football / Re: Who was better? Kevin Moze or Sean De Silva?
« on: November 01, 2011, 04:21:35 PM »
A man tell me stop being Bias when judging

1st of all I never judged as I never saw Moze play.. I grew up with Sean and watched him play many many games for our clubs, CIC and then Trinidad ... All I asked was has Kevin Moze done what Sean De Silva has done progressively and consistently?

From what I've read is no.. Sean maybe as some of you say wasnt in his class as a footballer but what I have seen from Sean despite his lack of size growing up is the determination to push on despite the height and lack of a frame growing up, being the white boy throughout his youth career and turning his mind away from that hole that probably Devonish Fojo and Moze self couldnt handle... a football is black and white and a field is green, that is the only colour that matters and he probably didnt fear the I am the white boy tag and with his clear as day determination and improving footballing ability he is currently the captain of his US college and scoring goals and assisting and improving all with a CV that boasts 2 youth world cups which he was instrumental in Qualifying especially the U20 and now came off the man of the series 1st round Olympic qualifiers where he was highly rated by Eve, also capped by TnT national senior team already... so he is on the right path and his heights and muscle has drastically improved and his technique is getting better...

Once he keeps his head on which I'm sure he will, the next thread in about 15 years would be some Sean De Silva vs the new white boy of SSFL debate  ::)

starboy hyland not coming down here to play CB vs Guyana etc.. you wouldnt get the same intensity or desire from him.. "they bring me down here to play CB? "

Maybe If we reach the bigger stage and things tough we could look at it but he have alot to offer as a midfielder for us... also his Ego too big to play CB..

Legend footballer, Forgettable and Regrettable Coach for T&T

He was the victim of his own downfall, only wanting to play a "Barca" brand which in his mind is the way football should be played as he is in the category of a total football player with 1 touch football and quick passing but shockingly what he didnt pick up from all this was the need for structure and organization, particularly defensively .. we had no urgency to win back the ball when it was turned over and we also didnt have the players necessary for technical football at a high passing level

Play to your strengths , he tried the impossible, admirable but suicidal

Wish him well in the future but I just dont think it will ever work with him in the hot seat again due to my above mentioned reasons and also his lack of desire in his body language... our players need an enthusiastic but fierce character to lead them with a real coaching background and sorry to say but with a non trini tounge .. overseas players not coming back here to listen to a Trini coach.. it will never work in my opinion

the through ball for the "offside" goal(00:17)
great delivery from corner (00:35)
pinpoint delivery from right wing(00:45)
outrageous goal (1:03)
through ball and follow up run to then score from (2:28-2:40)

Allyuh incredible yes,  Otto cant even speak proper English when stringing sentences.. He meant it as He is one of the best mids he has not as he IS the best mid

of that entire passionate rant the only thing majority of the people on here catch is a misinterpreted sentence about Theobald

I surprised nobody mention the fact he said " He(Roberts) break his leg! (pointing at elbow) "

It is the same point I making

Arshavin came to EPL as a 27/28 year old.. the year before was his big year with Zenit in the Europa Cup and Euro 2008

Hector is 27 and even though he has been around he is now starting to put his technical gift and his experience together to become a complete player

If he has a good agent he should be getting prem contracts, even La Liga and Serie A .. his technical ability is the best I've seen since Latapy and Yorke

Given myself time to exit shock stage(even though I still am in it probably)

1st Half was fairly balanced, City going ahead was a sucker punch but it felt like we would have gotten back in it as we were dominating

60 seconds into second half Jonny boy caught napping and that was the worst time for that

I thought goals 2 and 3 were very poor defending on our part,  yes we went forward as our thinking is always to get back into the game but I think we were a bit too exuberant in our quest to get back into the game and If you give guys like David Silva time to use the ball then you will get exposed.  Anderson was at fault for the 2nd when he lazily lost Silva and then allowed him to play the reverse ball for Milner

Credit to United for giving it a go at 3-0 with 10 men and making it 3-1 but when we conceded the 4th after Rio's terrible backpass and our atrocious defending of the resulting corner we should have had enough pride to be disciplined at shut off the game and go into damage limitation.. at that point the 1st goal was against the run of play and the 2nd and 3rd were down to individual mistakes and also us trying to get back into the game with 10 men and the 4th was understandable as we had scored and was hoping to nick another...

but to then bomb forward and have no tactical discipline and allow 2 goals after 4-1 was very very disappointing, very out of character of United , even Fergie said he was quite upset with Rio and Evra for not getting everyone to just see out the game at 4-1

Anyway, it happened, 6 is 6, well done City... 7 shots on target and 6 goals scored, of course largely aided by poor defending and 10 men but it is what it is

Its Sad that Fergie has to get a 6-1 bashing to realise that maybe Anderson who I do not rate at all, really isnt good enough and Carrick Gibbo etc arent the players to take us into the era where technical ability and energy is key

This Summer was meant to strengthen the center of midfield with Scholes gone and Giggsy a year older... Fergie as good as he is , is a very stubborn man and probably regretting his pride

Modric is the perfect fit, would have been an ideal partner for Fletcher and with Cleverley those 3 would have been the main men with Giggs coming in now and then. I would have sold Anderson, Gibbo and possibly Carrick and added Modric and a DM

we are well covered with quality in every position except center mid

Everyone saw it yet Fergie didnt.. now we are going to live with the embarrassment of this result down to his stubbornness,  hopefully it opened his eyes, so it could be a blessing

This I think may be a season to integrate the youths in the team, I fear City are too strong but we will give them a run for their money and I firmly believe we can win the league.  I think CL is near to impossible. I'll take anything this year really as it will be important for the young players and newcomers to win a trophy or 2 and get into the habit like the older heads have.

Time to push on, Vidic needs to get back 100% fit and also Cleverley is needed more than ever.. without him our performances have become poor and so have our results. He is really the heartbeat when he is there and guys like Rooney ,Nani  and Young really blossom when he is there behind them setting the tempo and driving forward

We will bounce back , certainly I will and my team

Just curious about what you Utd fans thought about Phil Jones' position today. I know he played in midfield for Blackburn before, but I couldn't really figure out what he was supposed to be doing today. Was he man-marking Adam? An experiment gone wrong?

And yeah, De Gea was fantastic. Fed up of opposition goalkeepers having their best performance at the Kop end  >:(  :)  :beermug:

It could definitely work..  tough to say after a tough game away to Liverpool and his first time in mid for United

I've been wanting to see him there for a while now ... and yes he was man marking Adam all game.. clear as day that was instruction

I'm pretty sure he could be a beast in mid , his drive is outstanding and he has good technical ability.. he will be fine in whatever position he plays whenever wherever... that 16 million price tag looks cheap now.. 19 years old and going to be a Legend

Girly, you really have to let go your anti-Rooney bullshit now..

he wasnt dropped because Fergie feared he may break someones leg.. he didnt start because Fergie said his head wasnt right after the verdict from UEFA...

All your negativity and you cant even praise the man's effort today. He came on and play CM and did it to perfection and also won a key defensive header in the last minute which would have been a sure goal for Suarez

Would you love Rooney if he didnt have that fire? would Rooney even be Rooney if he didnt have it? pick and choose your battles , the pro's heavily outweigh the cons of Wazza

Yes he does some stupid mistakes but he is Human afterall

That boy was born to score goals

Fergie's team selection will come under allot of scrutiny but the last 3 times we have went there we left way too much space and got battered ... In a sense it did work by limiting Liverpool to a few half chances but we hardly created anything so it was designed for counter attack and absorb which it did well enough... and then Adam's dive and Giggsy poor decision and we had to go for it by playing 5 in attack lol.. from then on it was anyone can win it as we were really open and after the Chicho goal it was madness how much space was available and De Gea was quality today

I taking the point considering we lost the last 3 there.. its a big point, City and Chelsea will not get it easy there either

Onto City

You think clown Maturana and puppet Latapy would ever be able to show the balls this man have?

I love this man , his passion and love for our football is there to see in this, truly being the father figure a coach supposed to be looking out for every interest from Winchester to a more senior player like Leon

This is an eye opening revelation and the pro league, the unnamed agents and the TTFF are all to blame for this fiasco and the media have it all to do to expose this situation

Who is the manager of the TT Team? he takes alot of blame for this for his lack of communication between clubs and players notifying them when training camps are etc and of course the pro league clubs involved and agents face some serious trouble with the dealings they are doing .. some of these cases may be illegal and players are really being treated like Animals and shipped all over the world is shit leagues like Vietnam and India

Unfortunately I do not believe in most our journalists as I honestly think they do not care about situations like this and that is why Otto made a personal plea with them to man up and do their job, men like Prescott and Simon, I hope you two are on the forum, prove to me that I am wrong about you and do your job with this.. get to the bottom of this story and stop being comfortable with a monthly salary, step up now , If you have a problem with my view feel free to PM me and I will tell you the same wherever whenever.. Do your f**king jobs or Liburd will come out the underground and pip you to a story that was right there personally asked for you to do by the Coach himself

If we were a serious country we would have a 1 hour long programme on TV 6 etc at 8pm with all the experts analysing this and going deeper into it but we dont care .. I can bet my life the news will only air about 2 minutes of this passionate rant and the anchor would laugh after and that would be the end of it

DO YOUR f**kING JOBS

Nice report small mag...

One observation though, from all accounts Stern had a rough game... 7/10 dawg??  Ah find yuh does be giving he and Birchall lagniappe.

Even Otto said in his post match interview Stern was very important in the 2nd half using his brain because it was evident he was tired but he let his brain do the work and bring players into play and he said he was very happy with him

And yes Stern and Birchy are my 2 fav players on the team so they will always get a little extra as their class on and off the pitch arent noticed or appreciated by players, fans and even coaches... lol

Otto apparently blasted the pro league and agents here to hell in the post match interview

He was upset about players going off on trials during team camps etc and blasted the agents and pro league clubs for their poor handling of the situation

edit: just heard the post match conference.. Otto just shot up the respect ladder.. this man was close to tears with his rant.. hopefully one of the posters can cap the highlights and interview on news tonight
