too much talk ... Bahrain should have burried more chances, and if not for that wonderful goal Bahrain would have won...

Bahrain did not play well but they got a good away result... I am happy knowing that now the pressure is on Trini not on Bahrain

I don;t know how the dude is saying Bahrain is horrible ... lol I mean Bahrain wasted chances ... they played under pressure, they came up showed up, and got the result ... surely we've proven we are not that bad lol

lol I got shafted man ...

Bahraini embassy ass holes made me pay 450 for a ticket to DC... none refundable now ... no ticket to trinidad for me

how did the embassy shaft you?

well lets see... they promised tickets from DC, told us to make arrangements, then send our stuff to them (told us that yesterday mind you !) today they call and say "trinidad told us they can't get the visa's ready before friday, sorry"

those clowns ... I know they just cheapened out ...

Qatar with mad spending gathering world class players (like DeBoer brothers, Batistuta, Guardiola, Job etc...) and coaches like Brunu mesto are the strongest league in Asia

is the qatari league making? they team not in the world cup. they spending all this money - qatar not such a big market. i see this happen here - big sponsor trying to make a buck and the league fold up in a few years.

well they team is not in the world cup becaues their team sux, their league is built on foreign players, hell even their best players on the national team are foreign ...

lol

Football / Re: IS Frank Lampard the best in the world right now??/
« on: November 03, 2005, 12:10:14 AM »
no ... Lampard is a good player but not the best in the world.

Ronaldinho is the best player in the world, I don't like the brazilian national team (cheered for Italy since I was a kid), I don't like Barca (I'm a serie A fanboy!) and I sure as hell aint the biggest fan of the man... but to be fair he is pure genius ...

I think then you have players like Juninho from Lyon, Requilme, Shevshenko, Totti (when he stops complaining and actually plays), Robben etc...

Lampard is a solid midfeilder, but one must ask... would he be as good without the star power that Chelsea have ?

Football / Re: What Team have we never beaten?
« on: November 03, 2005, 12:03:51 AM »
Has Bahrain ever beatedn a team in the top 10 in the world??

When was teh last time they won a wC qualifier or scored more than one goal in WC qualifier??

VB

well when Mexico are ranked higher than Italy... it basically renders the "rankings" useless Mexico and the US are only that high because they play against weak teams all year long one can argue ... (look at the first stages)

As for us ... we have had a rough road to get here, but we are here ... and we are not as bad as you think ...

a year back we beat Saudi 3-0 ... (it wasn't a home game) and thats the refurbished Saudi side... the same one that so easily qualified to the world cup this year (beating S. Korea twice in teh process). Our players are mostly young players, and we have had good results over the past few years ... look at the Asian cup for example ...

So we aint crap thats for sure ...

now if we will perform to the standards this team can perform ... that is a different story ... the capability is there, its up to them to perform, that is the problem with a young team... the mental aspects... they need to get real hungry !

lloool, i guess we would get nothin from the embassy, i called 'em and they said the same.. bendin  >:(

I'm thinkin of comin to T&T on the 12.. but

a question for the Warriors:
Are you gonna get our ass busted with bottles if you loss? Do you have good fans, aggressive, annoying??  ???
please advice, if any of the fans gonna use physical force , I rather watch it on TV..!

not at all, if there would be any: they'd be little kids..
but I would say 95% of the fans are well raised, and they would calm any kids if there are any...
security is well inforced, and no body is allowed to get any hard materials inside the staduim, no bottles nothing
I wanteed to ask you the same question, are we going to be assaulted by Bahraini ppl after we beat you in Bahrain?

lol ... nah Bahraini fans tend to vent over the refs, not with visitors from far away ... it would be very unbahraini like ... I mean we have crowd problems that occur, but its normally between local teams, mainly with refs... or with Saudi fans ... I don;t know why but Saudies just bring out the worst in Bahraini fans ... its like there is this 4000 years of built up tension or something lol ...

but generally we are well bahaved ... none of the fans that attended games in Bahrain suffered anything (the Japanese were so happy with the treatment, what a nice crowd the japs are... prolly the only set of fans that cleans the floor when they leave ! they so nice ! about 2000-3000 of them came down to bahrain)

1. Japan
2. Korea
3. UAE

thats no longer the case ...

Qatar with mad spending gathering world class players (like DeBoer brothers, Batistuta, Guardiola, Job etc...) and coaches like Brunu mesto are the strongest league in Asia

you have the Saudi teams who are very strong as well with players like Muhamed Kallon etc...

the UAE remains third although many of the leages best players moved, most notibly Ali Karimi to Bayern Munich

the bahraini players in outside leagues are with their teams till Nov 5th maybe 6th

Football / Re: WE HAVE SUPPORT FROM IRAN
« on: November 02, 2005, 11:49:03 PM »
iran tried to annex bahrain - could be some resentment there as well.

well that could explain why while we treated their team well, saluted their fans... cheered for them to get to the world cup besieds us

when we went to Iran, they burned our flag, spit on it for public tv, had posters of bahrain with holes and started ripping them etc...

they also attacked our team bus, our delegation etc...

they are very sore losers

They have hard feelings against us because because beat their a*s 3-1 in the previous final WC qualifiers and disqualified them, because of that Saudi went through to the WC. The Saudi fans were in Bahrain for the match and were waving Saudi flags after the game.

The Iranians were angry thinking that we were celebrating their disqulification. They have never forgot that loss eversince. They are nothing but pricks that need to live on and get a life. ;D

It says something about Bahrain. Jamaica and Trinidad are rivals in almost everything but in 97 win JA was trying to qualify  there was not one Trini who did not support Jamaica.

actually most the bahraini fans were supporting Iran  ;) but you have to remember that Saudi are also our blood relatives ...

Alsalman same here man. I actually rang up our embassy here in DC yesterday morning and they told me it's not official yet and that they will put up something on their website at the end of the day and i haven't seen anything yet :p

I know man ... I know it was in the news, as a makrama Malakiya or something.

I mean when are we gonna get the visa's if they keep us gessing ?

Unless the T and T federation helps us by allowing us to get visa's at the airports in port of spain ...

thats not even a question. trust me trini's only harm if they have to. nobody will do anything to you. and i could provide security for you if you wish.yall will be in your private section anyway.you will be greeted with love brother. i am as bad as it gets and i say that you will be safe :beermug:

PS only if you not related to bahrainwillwin ;D

Thanx man  ;D you could prolly show us Trinidad well ... it would be cool but again this is the bahraini embassy ... they will prolly steal the money or somethin  ;D

I am not worried about the T and T fans... I mean sure there may be some bad apples, but I am sure (from what I've seen) most of them are nice, and fun people  :)

To all Bahrainis on this forum,
If Bahrain beat T&T (nothing is impossible) and especially if you defeat the warriors on Nov. 12th, you deserve to go to the world cup. If you beat us and win the 2-game series, you deserve to win the world cup itself!

same goes to Trinidad :) may the best team go through

that's good to hear bro..
ya'll gonna be welcomed in Bahrain too..

If any of ya need help there, send me a private message, i'll give u my bro's number who'll provide ya with whatever ya need :beermug:

Bahrain call off Jamaica clash

By VIJAY MRUTHYUNJAYA and RAMI HULAYYEL

BAHRAIN'S joy after winning a friendly over Panama 5-0 did not last long as their second friendly against a more competitive team Jamaica was cancelled at the last minute yesterday. Bahrain's World Cup preparations was thus further hit as the unavailability of 11 professionals playing in Qatar and Kuwait had already affected the team's training ahead of the World Cup final playoff clash against Trinidad and Tobago on November 12 (Port-of-Spain) and 16 (Bahrain).

The two teams are vying for a place in the 2006 World Cup to be held in Germany next year.

"The Jamaica friendly is cancelled," confirmed Bahrain team manager Abdulrazzaq Mohammed yesterday. "But we are trying to arrange friendlies against other Concacaf region teams. I have already faxed a few request letters and am waiting for a positive reply."

Bahrain was to fly out on Sunday or Monday to Jamaica for a week-long training camp and a friendly clash on November 8 or 9 before reaching Port-of-Spain for the do-or-die showdown.

Mohammed refused to divulge the reason for the last minute cancellation of the Jamaica friendly, but the web site of a Caribbean newspaper yesterday said the hosts "asked for a fee of $350,000 ... leaving (Bahrain) officials looking for a replacement venue in Honduras or Venezuela".

The final playoff has already attracted world attention as much for its contrasting cultural sideshow as for the fact that both Bahrain and Trinidad are aiming to book their first-ever berths in the World Cup.

Bahrain's limited exposure against teams from South American and the Concacaf region is also a big worry for coach Luka Peruzovic of Belgium.

Bahrain had met a team from the Americas only once before the 5-0 drubbing of Panama on Thursday, and that was 20 years ago when they were beaten 2-1 by Paraguay in another friendly clash.

Peruzovic is aware of the problem and admitted it after the Panama friendly. "We are not familiar with the culture of their game and we hope not to start learning about it on the day of the playoff," said Peruzovic who took over from Croatia's Serco Juricic halfway through the 2006 qualifying group stage.

Peruzovic was also pragmatic when he put into perspective the 5-0 result against Panama as the visitors were without a string of key players who had plotted their team's way into the final of the Concacaf Gold Cup in the US.

"Panama used a lot of young players against us. I am not excited about the result, but I am happy that my players got the feel of what it's like to face such teams," said Peruzovic who was also forced to field a second-string team in the absence of 11 professionals, including seven regulars, away on duty in Kuwait and Qatar leagues.

Peruzovic, however, had something to cheer him up as first-choice goalkeeper Ali Hassan resumed training, while leading striker Hussain Ali's form has been encouraging for his club Al Garafa in the Qatari league.

Bahrain beat Uzbekistan on the basis of away goals rule while Trinidad finished fourth behind the US, Mexico and Coasta Rica in the Concacaf region to book berths in the final playoffs. [/i]
