What about Track & Field / Re: Gatlin agrees to eight-year ban
« on: August 24, 2006, 02:20:16 AM »
Ah home you making some change off it! LoL

At least enough to justify the badly needed increase in badwidth.

Did you see the time when I posted one of your diatribes on Carib and T&F News made a direct link to it from their front page?

I thought that was funny.

Here is why I can always laugh at people like Ben Johnson and Charlie Francis and Victor Conte.  They have always said that you can't do this and that without drugs Ben Johnson never ran "sub ten" clean, so he wouldn't know.  Conte is a snake oil peddler who was busted.  No clue.  If you grow up in Seattle you might think it has to rain everyday - but you would be wrong.  HE is a classic case of DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING U THINK! He doesn't even know anything about track. Charlie Francis has coached BEN JOHNSON, MARION JONES AND TIM MONTGOMERY.  All busted, disgraced and punchlines in track and field.

Is like a man tellin' u nobody could run round the savannah clean in less than 20 minutes, and u know u doing it for years.  It's laughable to me.  A man can't run under 9.9 without drugs? Please.  Nonsense.  To even suggest that means u implicate about 20 men who have already done it.  They were all dirty?  HIGHLY unlikely, and u don't have to believe me, but I KNOW it can be done clean, because I have 28 sub tens and at least 10 of those are sub 9.90.

Now, can someone run 9.80 clean? I think there are a few who can, and have.  Personally, I really don't know!  I never did it.

Ato,

You damn site too hard to get into.... it breaking down all the while. I just tried with no luck.

You know its the bomb and all and sundry want to check in to solve your riddle. LoL

Get some more bandwidth nuh man. Hahah

BTW, Cant see Gat getting less than 3 years at the extreme...4 more likely.

Gatlin is counting on arbitration....if he wins in arbitration he might get a year or two....he must have a REALLY good story if his people are counting on that....maybe they will use the masseur story, maybe it's a better story!

Gatlin cant get less dan  years, given its his 2nd offense.

You can stay there a worry bout Asafa. Word going around on all the chat sites is that WARINER test positive at US Nationals and that 2 more US busts to come.

Willi....with all that's going on in T&F...are you worried at all that Asafa might be caught up in this or you're completely convinced he's clean?

Palos,

Honestly that is unknowable. I think he is clean, but as I aint with him 24/7, I cant swear. My basis is that his coach has no drug history, drugs would have to be imported into the island, his progress has been relatively smooth, he is human based on the injury last year, he dont have roid rage and finally his tests allegedly almost never have any medical exemptions...a sure tip-off that people hiding things.

All I know is that both parents are country ministers and if he ever gets busted, he cant go back to Jamaica!!! The JAA would kill him, but they would have to wait in line. I cant see how he would face his very religious parents. Trust me, they aint licky-licky for money. They are not americans or even sophisticated Kingstonians...no siree, dem people strike me as having extremely high integrity...salt of the earth types.

What about Track & Field / Re: Merlene Ottey runs for Slovenia ?
« on: August 22, 2006, 02:17:48 AM »
Merlene moved to Slovenia in the 1990s and became a citizen there. Her coach s there and they started a business together.

Her coach is NOT married to her.

Merlene was indeed upset over the athletes protest in Sydney, but the real reason she switched was to continue running. She could no longer make the Jamaican team.

There are no lingering hard feelings as the breach has been repaired.

Jamaicans have no real issue with OTTEY running for her new country. She is a Slov. citizen and has lived there for a while.

Merelene wants to keep running and can no longer make the Jam team.

She gave here best years to Jam, despite briefly being married to a Yankee.

Yeah this ent like when we make d mistake with Bledman.  This happened - I see the final - it was damn close.  Big up RQ and de whole ah Tobago.  I think Watkins is going to be our first ever WORLD JR. FEMALE CHAMPION by tomorrow.  Let's see if the press gives these youngsters the props they deserve.

I enjoyed the 20/20 cricket but this is 100 times bigger.  Big up our youth so they can be encouraged. :)

Watkins...what event?

Could not find her on scanning the WJ site.

What about Track & Field / Re: Gatlin admits failing drugs test
« on: July 30, 2006, 03:31:10 PM »
What pisses me off is that yesterday all was well, but as soon as a yank tests positive, then dem draw my boy into it.

How many MVP people ever test positive for anything?

Do you all know the MVP policy for anyone caught using drugs?? Instant dismissal!!

Asafa has NOTHING to do with Gat and his dirty camp and so please leave his name out of it.

While I cant swear 100% for anyone, that means I cant exempt past stars either.

All i know is that Asafa is the ONLY elite sprinter that seldom if ever has a medical exeption on his testing form. Asafa has no ADD, Narcolpesy, colds, flus, or any bogus excuse that people use to cover their use of masking agents.
???????????? Who said anything about Asafa ????????????

Rasta,

I was talking to Ricky, with respect to his indirect slap.

I think Asafa is clean. i think Ato was clean, but I dont KNOW as I am not with them 24/7. However, I do keep an open mind and if any tests +ve for steroids, then no mercy...unless it can be proved that its a frame up.

My point was, its Gat's neck on the line and we dont need to implicate unrelated people. Gat never shared his gold, so why people trying to share out his troubles.

Fishs,

Are you more interested in being vindicated...or are you more intersted in uncovering the truth wherever it may lie?

What incentive would Ato have to defend Asafa or Gatlin???

I am not even Trini and I know Ato calls it as he sees it..right or wrong. I am sure all Trinis should know this by now. Indeed, I cant understand how is in politics, as this is a dangerous luxury that politicians are not normally afforded. I guess it is cause for some hope in the political process, eh?

Ato and I have had our differences of opinion, but I have always to respect his integrity in arguments.

1099
Ato,

While i KNOW gAT HAS A SLIGHT INJURY NOW...bIGGA TOLD ME IN LAUSANNE...
HE WAS PLAYING elusive in the weeks leading up to the injury at trials.

The camp was afraid of a whooping and that is why Asafa was playing possum trying to lure him into a race.

Gateshead was a fluke, in that Asaf did not mean to run that fast and that time has now made Team Gatlin resolute NOt to have a clash this year.

This is the reason for Asafa trying to use his mouth and draw out gatlin. I dont think it will work and I agree that Asafa should just run the best he can while he is healthy.

No,

I told this to Fasuba himself on Tuesday. LoL

Fasuba is a very nice guy though.

Dang Ato,

Letting it all hang out. LoL

Well said though.

Tell me, you think Asafa in problems due to his relectance to run the 200m in order to protect the groin?

I figure he must be doing overdistance training to compensate. I saw him running lots of 400m races earlier in the pre-season.

Yes,

Both TnT and the Bah stepped up nicely at Carifta. Now these 2 powers will battle it our for the number 2 ranking in the medium term and could use that as a platform to tackle Jamaica's hegemony in the longer term.

TnT only got 3 medals less than in Tobago last year, while the Bah are back up in the gold count. Much better competition for Jamaica than in the recent past from the smaller territories. This is a good sign for regional athletics.

Of course TnT can compete with Jam in several events.

My point is that the Bah is 5 times smaller than TnT and is winning more medals.

I would first look to surpass them and only THEN worry about Jamaica.

Track is the number one sport in Jamaica, in terms of success.

TnT is wasting their time trying to make comparisons with Jam. at this time in that sport. TnT should first look to overcome the Bahamas, which is ahead of TnT right now.

A gradual improvement approach is advisable.
