Rafa & Torres sitting down sipping bubbly and yuking it up. Kyak kyak kyak.

Football is really a cruel lover. Benfica was all over Chelsea especially in the first half, but they played with their food and paid the price. Somehow I had a feeling this would happen, having followed Benfica for a few years well.
They always seem to buckle at crucial moments.

Benfica have a nice knock, but at times does struggle in games that matter most. This legendary Club need a Trophy & so does their style of play.

Saudi Arabia went to 4 straight WC & they at home for this tournament.
UAE are steadily improving at youth level and New Zealand did a number at WC 2010
This is a very good outing.

win or die!!!!. The life of a coach. I like Mancini. I don't care what allyuh say. He is his own man. He will get a next job.

Deeks they all get jobs regardless, its a tight knit circle. Mancini has many good qualities, however, all indications are he has very poor people management skills. At Inter he fell out with almost everyone & had a public row with Luis Figo and the Medical staff. From the outside looking in, one of the things I notice is that it is never his fault.

On another side note Man City as an organization should have handled the situation better

Football / Re: NASL
« on: May 13, 2013, 10:06:18 AM »
The NASL has good organization and good coaching. The problem with NASL, USL, like MLS (in general) is that coaching cannot compensate for below par players (in terms of quality). Both leagues, teams, are made up a sprinklings of good players and by and large college players whom were never good technically, but good athletes. The quality of play as a consequence, is peppered with unforced errors and way too much unnecessary running. However, I would agree that the T&T Pro League may be at the same level as the NASL / USL (not in organization), with the general talent base being better, but by and large poor training habits and poor fitness levels.

Football / Re: TTFF Coaches
« on: May 11, 2013, 07:21:37 AM »
As I understood it, the question raised concerns TTFF coaches ... those in the employ of the federation, rather than coaches in T&T generally. Using the A license, B license scale etc. is probably not the most useful barometer for these coaches because several of them get other high-level exposure to coaching education through FIFA and confederation education.

So true   Some coaches have all kinds of paper and certification and never really coach. They have no idea what it takes to coach at a Professional level or even a National youth level. Given the proper structure, programming & preparation I am convinced most T&T coaches will do a very good job. Most fans would be astounded as to the preparation Panama, Honduras, Mexico, Costa Rica had with their U17 (as an example), versus TT. And they are working with players that are well schooled from a young age at Professional football Clubs.

2nd game vs Canada just finished

T&T 5 Canada 0

BOOM ! Chad Appoo scored 3.. one of my real good friends from CIC

These two teams play each other twice within 3 hrs. WTF!

Now the tournament organizers saying T&T have to play Canada again for a 3rd time.  ??? :bs:

They could go with Bundesliga, Serie A, or even La Liga.

Football / Re: Why are there no Pro League teams in Tobago?
« on: May 07, 2013, 02:13:12 PM »
Tobago in general is fragmented when it comes to football. there is a reluctance to work together for the good of the overall game. This is disappointing since everyone will benefit if the overall structure improves. It remains a territorial minor league mentality. Tobago can and should have a team in the pro league. Such a team will, or could have a huge inspirational effect.

After all the excitement of the game, I surprise (even in the media) that both keepers were not singled out for praises on their performances. Serious big, match winning saves were made on both ends. very impressive

Jose is no doubt a brilliant coach & manager. His game though is based on stopping the opposition from playing, capitalizing on errors, counters & physical football. For a side with the pedigree of Madrid, at times it would be nice to see him take the leash off and let them go forward. The last 10 minutes it look like the players say to hell with it & start doing their thing, even Ramos get caught offside in open play.
Now I may be completely wrong but Madrid under Jose always look jerky, like an inexperienced driver in a Lamborghini

Where it went wrong for Barcelona

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2013/apr/24/barcelona-five-reasons-champions-league

so it safe to say sun setting on the barca golden era or yuh think dem fellahs have someting left in the tank for a few years well?

Jury still out.  Depends on the Xavi/Iniesta replacements being groomed (Thiago, Tello) and the strengthening of the defense.  While Messi still very young, these other two issues have to be rectified to remain a force.  Let's not forget eh, is 6 straight CL semis and 3 CL titles.  Not shabby at all

Iniesta still have it in spades, arguably one of the better Barca players on the night. Xavi, however, needs a rest, he is no longer a young man & he has been playing many minutes for the last few years, for both SPain and Barca. Sanchez for me is not Barca class & everyone knows Alves is a liability defensively, many may even say Pique is the same (or lacks focus). He certainly does not look fit. The big question on the night was why Villanova left Villa on the bench for so long. Ah well father time catches up with everyone, time for fresh blood.

Juergen Klopp...BIG COACH!  Let's see how long he'll continue resisting the overtures to join a "bigger" club.

At the rate Bayern buying Dortmund Players...

Dortmund gotta stop selling their players, if they want to really develop into a super club.  Kagawa gone, Goetze gone, Lewandowski probably gone this summer, and Hummels and Subotic are fair game as well.  They trying to renew Lewandowsk's contract, but everyone knows that is to cash in on him in the summer, by making some club activate he transfer value.

Lewandowski gone

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/apr/25/robert-lewandowski-leaving-borussia-dortmund

Yep, Sir Alex alluded to that last week, saying that he believed Bayern had pretty much sealed a deal.  This is not good for German football.  Schalke, Leverkusen and company gotta step it up, because the gap is widening in that league.  Imagine, Bayern lose one game all season?  Nah man.

Nothing new really. It has been done in Italy, Spain, England. Bayern have been knocking on the door for a few years now. They are a legendary club that wants to remain that way.

Dortmund were suffocating last night. I was very surprised about their domination, though they had their slice of good fortune. The second leg could see the Special One witness his greatest triumph or his greatest defeat.

Look at the ages of all these guys, they enjoy the money already, set up who they have to fix up and running to ride out the rest of their life in comfort.

arsenal proved that Bayern's back line can be exploited, too. this match go have end-to-end action! (and Dortmund bussin' RM ass, too!!)

That is a tall tall order from Dortmund. Real in devastating form at the moment.
Bayern power & pace is tears, yes their defense can be exploited, but can their attack be stopped? Can't wait to see this game

The mystifying thing is that Jack got his political calculus wrong with respect to challenging Blatter. Instead he just helped Blatter to linger. But, it seems he feared someone else assuming the mantle of rightful heir. These revelations - astounding as they are - probably pale when compared to some of the stunts he probably pulled to move up the FIFA hierarchy. He and bin Hamman are the only 2 that got it wrong. Grondona and Hayatou are still well-ensconced in South America and Africa. Dahis nuff territory upon which to leverage patronage, tributes, fiefdom and largesse oblige.

Ah feel is cocky he get cocky. He try to make a power play and it back fire hard.  Also think he thought it was done; with his threats of tsunami and hurricane. After Blatter and crew cat-spraddle him, then they schuk dey dogs on him (FBI & IRS). Domino effect.  I'm intrigued to see this play out; see the power of the dogs, even when there jurisdiction is questionable.

He underestimated the ultimate iron man of FIFA politics & politics in general. Jack eh realize that the teacher taught him everything
he knows, but not everything the teacher knows.

“Together we aspire, together we are achieve” became “when it suits me I will conspire, when it suits me I will deceive” as Trinidad and Tobago hurtled down the international transparency index.

There will be a feeling of relief that Warner has finally left Cabinet. But he does not fall alone. He never operated in a vacuum.

Warner is a product of Trinidad and Tobago. His departure is not the end of our society’s longstanding romance with corruption. But, if the two-island republic looks inward, perhaps it might be the start of something more dignified for us all.

The funny thing is nobody talking about the fact that once again he deliberately handled the ball. He shared most of his repertoire on the field today. Only thing missing was him racially abusing someone.
Giggsy11 no doubt he mad no ass. The man could not wait for the after game buffet ;D
I will say this in his defense I don't believe he deliberately handled the ball. If you watch the slow mo
he turned his head away thinking he was going to collide with his team mate
