Football / Re: A 1:1 home draw is not as bad as you think. CHECK THIS.
« on: November 13, 2005, 07:11:45 PM »
That 1 all draw was the 4th worse thing that could have happened with the worst probable thing being a 5 all draw. It now means that we must score in Manama and cannot lose. If we had drawn at 0, it would have been much better since we would be carrying no baggage from the last match. The only baggage i would have liked for us to carry was positive baggage like a 3 nil win.

Football / Re: match report TT 1 BAHRAIN 1
« on: November 13, 2005, 10:27:41 AM »
Good Report Andre. I saw the game on FCS. I appreciate the fact that you saw us play unsatisfactorily but now it's our turn to score an away goal.

I noticed a contrasting lack of movement in this game compared to the Mexico game.  I bellieve  Beenie was right to play a 4-5-1-Stern-stand-alone system in your home game but that can only produce goals with lots of busy movement off the ball like in the Mexico.

We were scared to move FORWARD which is part of the movement in total as Bahrain is particularly worrisome for us the way they play the long ball counterattack very efficiently. The keeper would also find the winger with 1 accurate missile to the left wing. Not being at the stadium it was hard for me to understand how that was happening so easily. Was Spann doing his job there at right wing back?

Personally, I would rather see a keeper who is faster off his line, handles crossses more  aggressively and relies less impulsively on kicking out the ball and in turn causing us to lose possession. I am not a Jack hater but I would rather Shaka in goal on Wed. Latas was not himself. Don't quite understand it as he was marked heavily by Mexico too and still looked good. Yorke I find played very well but a bit deep but took alot of balls on his chest the way Stern is progammed to do it.

Birchall's shot was something else and much more powerful than the Honduras shot. It is not an easy type of shot to do with the ball already off the ground. Geting that kinda accuracy with the mechanics of his shot taking is................boy................very impressive. A rocket if yuh ever see one . His confidence will be sky high after that and he probably puts to rest any contenders in midfield fighting for his spot.

Once again, I go back to my left-wing back preoccupation. Avery worries me even though he is seriously committed and tries his best. He cannot do much with the ball if pushes forward and he also frightens me when he does push forward. One thing he can do is put in the final tacckle just at the edge of the box so I will live with that and hope he keeps the attackers out. Guess what? And Beenie knows this. WE HAVE NOBODY ELSE TO PUT THERE.  We need Rougier there at least as back up.. I am convinced. Rouge will not panick and just run backwards when he see a player coming at him at the wing. we also need double teaming on the left wing defense to help Avery put in an early tackle further from the box danger area.

AS much as I like Sancho, he cannot play unless he is given a stopper role as he is not QUITE fast enough to handle VERY SPEEDY wingers. Great confident defender with neater ball skillls than Tallman but as I said above....

Carlos doing a very good energetic givet it yuh all job. Doh pong him. I personally am glad to see the dribbling as long as it is not in defense.

Latas will be a diffrent man in Bahrain and Beenie is ging to tactically move him around  more left, right, up and back till he gets in the game. Mark my words.

Scotland will always feature and Jones will come on too.

Spann will continue.

                                                            Shaka

                                              Dog                      Tallman

                    Spanner                                                                  Avery :-\

                                           Birch                            Whitley >:( (Mr no-nonsense)

                                                             Latas
                    Carlos                                                                      Yorke

                                                             Stern

4-5-1. Will convert to 4-4-2 early, then 4-3-3 as pressure starts to come on the T&T team to score more. To put more strikers on I don't think it will be Whitley who will be substituted though. Not sure who we can afford to take off. Maybe Birchall if he gets tired and can't chase well.

Yuh know the whole thinking behind the strategy is different for this game in Bahrain. IT IS NOT ABOUT WINNING OR LOSING THE GAME. If we "lose" 3-2 then we win since those 2 goals count to four!  It's all about attacking in Bahrain which we were not mentally free to do. Yorke will STOP running around in defense trying to help out as captain and will now keep his backside in attack near Stern.  Dog and Tallman will have to handle dey stories by deyself. If yuh doh trust Tallman by hhimself so, put Sancho instead. We cannot keep on smothering our style because we are paranoid about our defense, (something which the Trinidad game acutely worsened because of the away goals rule). Beenie I understand yuh tactics buh is time to just friggin' explode in attack in Bahrain now.

Go warriors. I am not worried. Bahrain is. Trust me as they know what's coming. We score 2 in an all out blitz and we cool!!!!  We are very lucky that Bahrain did not score 2 as that would be deadly for us. Again Beenie was right on tactics. Players were just too scared.

AWay goals only count when you win the first leg say 2-1 or draw nil nil and not draw 1 all and if we draw the 2nd leg by more than 1 goal, in this case if we lose the 2nd leg we are gone. If we had won the first leg 1-0 then your 3-2 result would work for us because of the away goals rule, it would also have worked if we won 2-1.

Football / Re: Birchall's Bullet, Whitley's Wizardry....
« on: November 13, 2005, 10:20:58 AM »
If we were due a bad game then I prefer that game to be a 1:1 draw home - so we can go play away and come out with the guns blazing to get those away goals.

We have already proved that we can play very good away games.

We still have a great coach, speedy forwards and a couple of days to hatch a plan to outplay and outscore.

There are a few things we need to keep in mind:

 - We did not pick up any yellows;
 - I noticed Lawrence clutching his hamstring in the second half (I am curious about that);
 - Cornell Glen is still 100% fresh and can be a real menace if unleashed on Wednesday.

God knows there is no fear in my mind about our ability to win on Wednesday!

Nil nil would have been the best bad game for us because a 1 all draw in Bahrain would be good enough.

Right now this is the only place i could release the stress since i couldn't even talk with anyone during the game because there were mainly females who were around me in teh stands who didn't even know the game and the few fellas were only interested in wining on the females and chatting with them during the game.. it was sad for me, i went with one partner since noone else got tickets and he went on a next beat to check some 'freak' by the scoreboard, that's his words exactly. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Have to say ah real happy fuh yuh dat yuh was able to get a ticket because ah did feel yuh pain when yuh post yuh didn't get one when yuh did line up.  Seem like it wasn't de experience we was all hopin for but even doh I disapoointed to de point of blasted vex wit de team performance, we still have 1 more game to go.  Hopefully we pull it off.

Boy, my fiancé win that ticket in a raffle at her job and didn't tell me until Friday night after i sulk whole day Friday because i was in line and didn't get tickets for the crew so she said i could take it and go alone. I told her i would have sold it but she said it was no scene to go alone :) :) so i was there. I will be glued to the 27" on Wednesday..doh mind, i in Bahrain in heart and spirit, right now i surviving on a respirator as my heart in a cooler of ice on the plane... :rotfl: :rotfl:

there was a man reading a book in front of me while people were trying to get the crowd hyped. no lie.

i was reading the free newsday sports thing but that was before the game while the waggonist them was jumping and wining to the soca.

You can't be serious.

Amazonian, I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT MANY CORPORATE COMPANIES BOUGHT BLOCS OF TKTS SO THAT BY THE TIME THE TKTS WENT ON SALE THERE WERE A GOOD 5000-7000 THAT HAD ALREADY BEEN ALLOCATED. SO NO U CANNOT SAY THAT ALL THOSE PPL WHO WERE IN THE STANDS HAD A GENUINE INTEREST IN THE GAME!!!!!

When I ever that the people in the stand had a genuine interest??
Even if they weren't genuinely interested and didn't know all the maths and physics of football doh mean that they didn't want to support their team.
The key thing is the support. You think the players want to look in the stand and see only 100 die hards in the stadium? Or 10000 supporters there cheering them on?
What I saying is that the people in the stand wanted to be there and make sure and line up or ask their uncle or neighbour for tickets so they could be there.
And of course corporate companies bought blocks of tickets! I know that, you know that, who doh know that?

REAL FANS cheer for 120 minutes not when a man get a shit beat and swing a bad cross, people were telling me to sit down, i blocking them, others just chatting, some more concerned about killing themselves with cancer sticks and alco than watching the game, others walking up and down and posing to see who watching them, one woman next to me was powdering her face and fixing her hair and make-up. total BULLSHIT

Football / Re: What do you all think of Carlos Edwards?
« on: November 13, 2005, 09:51:10 AM »
Allyuh ever think that part of de reason Carlos had to beat so much is because he had no flikkin SUPPORT?  Silvio Spann had almost as bad a game as Avery John today.  He looked completely out of it and unlike the Guatemala game where he and Carlos were interchanging well, he looked totally clueless out there.

Matter of fact, most of our players had NO SUPPORT from their teammates when they got the ball.

Beat forward and not back, beat one to get out of trouble not 2 and 3 to look good. Beat forward and cross it, if the forward not there, that's a hard luck but don't beat and don't cross or cross a pack of shit. >:(

His crossing was not up to par..that's very true FATZ.  But I honestly believe he felt he had to beat because there simply was no support for him to pass the ball to.  Carlos was on his own most times breds.  Again...just my opinion.

Respect palos but wouldn't it be better to swing it in the box a few times with one man or none at all there in the 18 but close to the 18 than to not swing it at all?? That would put the defense under pressure and lead to mistakes and also tell our FORWARD(yes 1 forward we had in that game against a side like Bahrain) to get in there even if he doesn't reach the cross. That Bahrain defense was worse than T&Ts defense. There was one where Carlos got inside the 18, near the six yard box and he fluff some kinda shot when he had a cut back to latas or Stern on the far post.

$17000 to go Bahrain, that is nearly some peoples yearly take home, the waggonist them should be going to Bahrain instead of paying a small $100 in the stadium cause i sure plenty of them could afford it.

You couldn't help but put in the waggonist them in your report. :rotfl: But we must mention them because they were true spokes in T&Ts wheel. If they wanted to see T&T vs Bahrain, they should have gone to Bahrain. Big up to Whitley for a good game but what did you think of Edwards and his shit play on the flank?

A next thing i was to add, i was down by the stadium before 4am on game day and i met about 100+ people waiting to get tickets again and after a while po po run all ah we behind the barriers then a man with a big plastic pass round his neck come and sy tickets sell out, that was about after 7 near 8 then boom a big strong man they call rocky pull up and start to sell tickets for $300 a piece, the man sell tickets for about 2 hours then contract the shit out, he literally had a backpack full of tickets, one man ask him if that's a 'wonder bag' he has there, he said he see him push in his hand and half his body went in :rotfl: :rotfl: the man pushing his hand in and it coming back out with tickets by the 10's and more, that went on for 2 hours. I left there near 10am and scalper tickets had reached $400. I should have had my camera and camcorder with me to record that scene. Scalping is illegal and the po po was right there and weren't doing a thing. >:( >:( >:(

523
You know I really don't get you guys... how many times are you going to complain about this??
Fine. I agree that the diehard fans should have been there, but does that mean that tickets and seats should have just been handed to them?
The waggonists wait in line from early o clock in the morning to get their tickets. And then they reach the stadium lunchtime on Saturday to make sure they get in the game.
Allyuh must have known that would have been the scene.
So if you didn't make an effort to buy your tickets early and be at the stadium to get seats etc... you have nothing to complain about!!!!
What you should complain about is the method used to sell tickets etc.
Further, what wrong with people wanting to learn about the game? Sure they should have done some research or what not but we should be happy to impart knowledge. And we should be glad that so many factions of tnt come out to support.

Wait in line my arse, i was in line since 4am and people were there before me in Arima and didn't get tickets(same for me) and when i go down in the game, i seeing some old spanish/syrian peeps and some young white girls and boys sitting in the stands and you telling me they was in line from early for tickets. I was literally floating in the line, people coming out with tickets and they look like they in a wet tee shirt contest fuss it was pressure. Buckets of sweat fall that day and the po po was selling tickets too and getting for their friends by the 10's so don't talk bullshit. >:( >:(

DON"T BLAME the referees, we always do that when we play shit, it's like looking down at your boots when you kick shit, it makes no sense, we are the ones who control our feet and the same goes for the game, we control it, if we played good the referees would not have to come into play.

I was going to make a similar post, props to you for shedding light on this. I had people around me who had know clue about football, asking questions about if he has to go off because he got a yellow. A man in the back of me seemed to be a teacher, explaining football to some females around him, anothr female saying Stern is the keeper, a man asking every minute who is number 19, who is number 9 who is number 7 and just like you, people telling people to sit down because they blocking them like if they were really watching the game. I take about 4 pack of cigarette smoke in my ass from some females and males in front of me who were all rowdy and wining down the place to Maximus and the rest and then when game start, they like some 'mooks' and not even taking on the game, more into talking and asking many 'what' questions on football like what is offside?, what is a yellow card? They have total football on tv and we had total bullshit in the stands. I see some old 'whitey' people, some young 'whitey' people some 'whitey indian' people, some tame looking females some poser females and males who i know didn't and couldn't fight for a ticket in the stands and all the true football people had to stay home and watch it on the small screen. NO RACIAL disrespect to anyone reading this post.

Plain and simple, Bahrain is shit, your players can't even trap good, can't pass too good either, your keep can't even kick the ball over the half line good. You all are shit and should admit it. The only thing that stopped you all from getting 5 was an uninspired T&T team but i have a secret to tell you all, we let you all off the hook so we could put blood in your eyes in Bahrain, we wanted to hurt your team and fans more and where better to do it than in your own town. You all seeing the sea and you will not be able to bathed, it will be like a mirage. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Carlos Edwards is a waste of time and all of you who support him must be the first timers in the stadium who killed the vibe. If you all think beating a man and getting jam after or beating a man and kicking a shit cross is good then you all shouldn't make any comments on this forum. I could count how many complete passes Edwards made on one hand and still have room to hold a pen and write. Whitley was the man who had the best game, Latapy should have switched with Stern, Latas in the middle and Stern out wide cause the tall man for Bahrain was just over Stern's back every time they play a ball into him and yet still they kept doing it when with Latapy they could have tried to play it in on the ground and let him take on the tall man on the ground. The defense was lacking, they let too many balls drop and lucky for us, Bahrain didn't make us pay more.

Carlos Edwards was a waste of time and all the jacks in the stand giving him support when he do a lil 'beat' and don't go anywhere but into a Bahrain 'jam'. The announcer said the crowd was 24900 something like that, he should have asked the question How many people here for the first time? or Who is Trinidad's captain? and see how much out of the attendees would have known. I was lucky to get a ticket so i was down there again and that crowd was just poor during the game, all they were studying was 'liming', they had the most energy to jump up to Maximus, Destra and the rest but when game start, they just there and when Carlos do a shit beat they cheer and get up then when he get jam they just sit back down. As one man put it, "We're a good times crowd"

Ah have a question.  Yuh REALLY think if tickets did go on sale 1 week before de game dat dem same tickets wouldn't a sell out on de fuss day?

Maybe but if it was being sold at more outlets, it would have given people a better chance cause when i was in Arima, they have man with 17 tickets looking to sell back for $150. i tell him to stick that in his ass, friend thing kill the people who was there since 2am and shit, i was 20ft from the hole in the wall and still salt.
