When "Jamaica football" becomes Jamaican football it would start to progress,it cannot be built from the top but from grassroots like we are doing in TT with our yutes. We are not looking for "readymade players" to build from the top.Simoes got away with that in 98,it wont happen this time. All building processes must start from a strong foundation, you dont start building your house from the roof.At the end of it all,if we dont get to SA our team would be ready for 2014 with anything you or the rest of CONCACAF could throw at us,you lot in Jamaica would be 5 years behind still begging for the dregs of British football, what makes it worse is that they dont have Jamaica in their hearts.Marlon King is typical of that so called Jamaican.Did he not say to Boxhill"you and your country can f**k off?Do you think Trinidad would have anyone who treat us like that? Never mate!

That is really a great post coz it hit me quite hard all bcoz my son was an exceptional footballer and cricketer. While he was at Primary school he was involved in a football final in London for 11 year olds,on the same day he was also involved in a cricket final. The cricket final was bigger than the football final so he choose the cricket match, the coach warned him that if he chooses the cricket that he would never again play for the school again. It turned out that he never again played for the school and he dropped football,at cricket he was expected to play for England at some stage, cricket clubs in and around London all wanted to have him.The biggest surprise was when he also gave up cricket.I personally feel that if he starts back in any of the sports he could make it at the highest level.I say that as someone who has played at club level in England at both sports.

I am happy that allyuh mention Ahamad Charles,he is family or should I say was coz he is now deceased.Anyway as a little boy when my parents went to visit the  gran children I used to go and look at all the trophies he got for cycllying, football cricket and running.I always wanted to be a TT sportsman like him but I came to England.I played football and cricket but life was too difficult to carry on with sports.I have to say doh I was wicked as a right wing back.

I would like to ask davidephraim if the fact that when we played Jamaica in Kingston we were missing 6 players,Jamaica had all their major players apart from Fuller. We played with a very young in-experienced team and Jamaica was expected to kick our asses ,if you were to believe some of the posts that were made prior to the match. We now have C.Edwards,S.John,C.Ince,J.Scotland,D.Lawrence and A.Edwards,,surely you haven't taken that fact into consideration.Whatever negativity you or the rest want to bring into the equation would not affect the process that is taking place in TT football, building a strong base of home based players should have been happening over the last 10 years. How many times over the years we played internationas without our overseas professionals? We at times were left with a dis-jointed team that is one of the reasons we are not in the top 3 in CONCACAF.When we played Guatemala they had one player in the MLS all the rest were home based, the rest of  CONCACAF basically are the same apart from the US and maybe Mexico.Maybe you have forgotton how many times we have been refused our players in the British leagues and the MLS,if you have then I certainly haven't.
Now sidung and watch de improvement  in dis game to-nite,WIN,LOOSE OR DRAW.
DOH SAY AH DIN TELL YUH.

Football / New Warriors
« on: June 06, 2008, 05:38:44 PM »
It was the first time that I saw our New Warriors and they did not look that bad as I was led to believe. We were up against some of the best players in the EPL and it was understandable that the young ones would be nervous. If we were to play that England team again I am sure you would see a much improved game from our boys. One of the things that was blatantlly obvious was how we were giving the English so much space,we were not closing them down quick enough but even so they could not take advantage. After those two early goals plus  the loss of Kenwynn I felt a real worry that we might be battered, that didn't happen so we should give some credit because it is due.We play Jamaica to-morrow and I can bet that what they have learnt from that historic 90 minute would result in 100% improvement, win, loose or draw,I expect us to beat the Brits just to let them know once again who is de borse. This is all a rebuilding process so winning is not the most important factor in this match, its how we improve on those faults which which was glaring against England. Our passing was not up to standard and we can surely improve on that against inferior opposition(Reggaebritz),I also hope that Mr.Maturana pong it it deh head about closing down people quickly and not too much long hopefull balls.Ah backing we for ah 2-1 win.

I can understand Latapy not coming bcoz of age but Yorke not coming to play is understandable. He does not need to showcase himself to anybody again. He did that during the 2006 qualifying matches and eventually in the WC.He eventually got back into England and the EPL.

Listen WestCoast,we does go on bout Jamaica and cuss dem all de de time but could you see this kindah shyte goin on ova deh?Not in a 100 years dem people know how to "galvanize",all I saying is that at certain times we have to forget little differences for a better result. My admiration for JW IS NOT PURELY AS DE MAN,BUT WHAT HE HAS ACHIEVED,what makes it all the more admirable is that he is a black man.I teef,he teef, you teef all ah we in position teef lil bit some more than others.

Allyuh can call me any name under the sun it doesn't bodder meh,the fact is there is no denying that all this posturing by the sport minister is onlly a stupid political game to show JW who is boss.A country with so much money being wasted in so much grandiose schemes crying for $150,000 TT because they did some renovation work? Is dat right at such a time?If allyuh cyah see something cynical in dat then allyuh more chupidee than ah tort. The govt did great by giving our footballers a nice bit ah money after 2006 WC,is not that they cyah wait till after the game and let tings cooldung ah lil bit.Why bring domestic squabbling into the pot so close to such ah big game.
In the next few years footballers could be our best export so why treat our football fraternity like dat.
All I ever hear is JW is a teef,be honest wid yourself and tell who in power doh teef,I really doh care as long as they do a good job.Teefing is a culture in de upper echelons of our society and we cyah get away from dat regardless of race or religion or colour.JW didn't get to such a lofty position in world football by teefing but by all the hard work he has done, name one Trini who has attained such a high position in anything. No matter where I live I'll always feel great pride in torkin bout TT and its achievements,if nothing else football has put us on the world map and there is no need to treat it like dat, sorry but G.Hunt is a "BIG C -  -  T"

Most people still cannot see that politics has now entered our game of football and its a vindictive move by the minister which was surely engineered by the Prime Minister. We can now show the world what a little "tin pot democracy"we are.Whatever made jw become a member of the UNC,surely he should have been a minister in the Government, then whatever he did would not have been magnified as they presently are.Be honest with yourselves for once in allyuh little lives and doh just live for today because to-morrow we could be another Zimbabwe. There is nuff nastiness that has happened and not a bad word against the minister, instead allyuh still cussing JW.

That is exactly my feeling, you have put that very simple and to the point.I am with Trinishottaz all the way you do not play England with in-experienced yutes,Iwould be praying on my knees that they dont put 8 in we rass. That man Maturana is a puppet.Ah just dont want the rest of the world to laugh at us.

If we can keep the score down to 6-0 Iwould see it as a good result for us but if England takes this game serious it could be 8 or 9.Ijust hope that doesn't happen.

I would have preffered that the footballers in Trinidad abandon all international football in solidarity with the WC players and fight JW and Camps that way. This would have given the TTFF  no room to manouvre as they are capable of doing right now..with a puppet coach. That leaves us in a position to be badly beaten by England and then Jamaica.Who wants to be in that situation with WC matches just around the corner. An all out strike by our footballers would have sent out the right message to JW.We should have given up the 2010 effort in order to straighten out Mr.Jacula as he is known, you cant have your cake and eat it,some sacrifices are necessary.

The players who instigated this legal action should have used alittle bit more common sense after all we had only just competed on the biggest stage in the world. For the betterment of our football a little bit of patience was better.I am also quite sure that not all the players involved was 100% behind this but only a few.I am sure you all know who they are,it was only a matter of solidarity that made most of the players act the way they did. They must now be regretting the actions coz all it has done is keep our football from progrssing as it should have done.I AM JUST HOPING THAT WE DO NOT BECOME A LAUGHING STOCK TO THE FOOTBALL WORLD ASSUMING ENGLAND PUT 8 GOALS PAST US.
