Carlyle Mitchell from TT,to USA and now Phiipines, they must be the weakest team in Asia,I can't help but mention yet again ,why do people take a dig at some of our players who play in India.I think our players can do as well in Thailand as they do in TT,there are much better crowds and our standing in world football is probably the same virtually.

The posts that I saw before the match with Guyana led me to believe that we should win,how wrong can people be,I always thought we were flimsy,it always happen so I am not shocked.Guyana was always known for their world famous cricketers, now in recent times they are doing quite good in other sports,a new culture is taking over.

Judging from the highlights we should have won, first thing,it was never a penalty,it was a great tackle and he even come out with the ball, you couldn't get a cleaner tackle. We had clear cut chances, abou 3 and a couple half chances. This was a good Guyana team and we didn't take them lightly.I see TT getting better, and this is a very encouraging start.

asylumseeker;I understand better now,but I still feel there are possiblities for them, maybe some can make it to the Super League, and as a massive country ,as I said before they could be scouted to Europe.I still maintain that Indian football has improved a hell of a lot,I can recall India getting rolled over by everybody,it doesn't happen now,as you will know.Respect mate!

I can't help but notice the funny posts about our players who choose to sign for clubs in the Indian Professional Football League. The fact that the Indian League attracts players from Europe,South America,Central America,Africa and Oceana.Doesn't that say something, also India have an Eastern European Coach and scouts will always be on the lookout for players, that could be a reason for our players going to India. It's not to be laughed at,at least see the positive side and wish them the best.India stands at 104 and TT 101,the crowds are bigger than our PL and appears to be more exciting. One week ago Bahrain beat India 2-1,that score would have been trebled 5 or 6 years ago. Most of the Indian team had Visa problems and had to step out and play Bahrain 2 hours after landing.Belarus beat India a couple days later 3-0,again that score could easily have been 6 or 7 nil 5 years ago,Belarus is 94 in FIFA standings,Bahrain 89 and we are 101.No big difference there, but the fact is our boys could possibly get into Europe because scouts are always on the lookout, also the league is bigger that ours so wish them luck instead of laughing at them.

Something is telling me that Eve may surprise some by taking our football out of the doldrums,I also think he could be right in concentrating on our homegrown players. If we have from outside of TT who wants to play for us,they must show that they want to play for us at some stage in their career.

Quote
“We have the local-based players training four days a week in Guyana and the only way to test their level of readiness is to give them that match exposure,” the Guyana coach explained. “[…] This first game we wanted to use the local players […] to measure the work we have done. Against Trinidad and Tobago, we will try to play more of the overseas-based players and try to make it a match.”

Sensible stuff from Coach Shabazz.

I heard Guyana was beating Barbados 3-0 at halftime.
Final score Guyana 5 -Bim 0...goals in the 12,37,41,49 and 61 mins. One of the goals was a penalty in the 49th min.Guyana may be a better fight, they do have about 5 players from outside Guyana in quite minor leagues in England,Canada and one player in Portugal...no big deal.I hope we put a proper cutarse pon dem.

Football / 2022 CONCACAF WC Qualifiers Thread
« on: September 04, 2021, 03:37:47 AM »
Judging by the results of the first matches played last night 03-09-21,Jamaica was the only team that lost to Mexico, their winner came in the 89th minute,a very surprising result was El Salvador v USA draw, all the rest were draws. These results are not surprising because slowly, but surely the weaker teams are catching up.
I would just like to say, we didn't do too bad in our recent failures, when you consider all the upheavals our football has gone through over the last 5 years or more.It is also safe to say that we wouldn't have had a team good enough to beat any of those teams that are presently competing in the Hex,purely because of non football issues. We must try and put a great effort in our approach to the Caribbean ChampionsTrophy, this could be a new start.I am growing older with the thought of,"how the once best football team in the Caribbean can fall so far behind the the rest",that needs some serious explanation.

DeeksI said I won't post again but I respect you and a 2 or 3 others.I wasn't planning to offend, but when I said Jamaicans say "we talk too much",I tell them is allyuh who talk too much.I am up against about 5 ah dem.Sometimes I wish TT can ram all the crap that they talk down their throats, when we lose they know and wait for meh.Where are all those ballers that we used to produce, what happen to that culture. When I came to England I played Sunday morning football in Scrubs Lane in Shephers Bush, most of the blokes were Jamaicans, many would ask me "way yuh fram bway",when I replied  Trinidad, they would say,no wonder "yuh so good".I am just pointing out how well the rest of the Caribbean knew about our football culture,we lost our pride or what,I dunno man.I find it's taking too long to get back even close to where were, maybe there's more to it than I know.Regards.

I'm predicting a 1974 encore....a repeat performance of T&T over Mexico in the 1974 CONCACAF finale in Haiti.
T&T 4  Mexico 0..
 :worried:
Only this time around,  the 72-year old, star of the 1974 finale,  Warren Archibald will be watching somewhere in Brooklyn, of course not on the field.  LOL

Are you planning some special Haitian magic ;D to help TT,I will be happy if we are defeated 4-nil. :worried:

gawd on pitchI wasn't aware that we were missing so many starters, that being the case, we should be able to put up a better show when we have those missing players.I also share your sentiments about Muckette.I still feel Kerron Cummins can be useful for us,hopefully Eve will see the same things that we saw and try to put them right.

I think for this match we should get some credit, having lost the captain and Garcia, also missing his brother, add to that Aubrey David playing with a damaged chin, that wouldn't help him,it would hinder. After hearing so much about these countries playing with overseas players, makes you think they might be better than us,it's not so in many cases,so train and develop your own.In the football history of Trinidad the best years was when we had no foreigners,in the 70s when "we got done up good N proper" by Haiti, and again in the 90s by USA,denied a blatant penalty,no foreigners again.
I cannot help but praise those penalty takers,it must be the best I have ever seen,I have to say bravo to them and the rest of the team. Some improvement is needed.

pull stones,Thanks for that response, and I now know why I read your posts whenever I see them, your love for the game shows by your posts, living in the Midlands also add some real flavour to what you write.I left TT in 68 very young but was football crazy,I thought TT was a great team and would be at World Cups every 4 years, you have explained why we have failed so often.I also think we are seen as foreigners when we do go back, that's true.As I say I love your spirit and wish you all the best,I live in London in Hampton.Best ah luck mate!

pull stones,I don't know what part of the world you live but you seem to have a sound knowledge of TT football and the "tapestry" that goes with it,considering what you said about TT coaches as opposed to foreign ones.I have lived in England and I don't know much but I sometimes feel that some TT coaches  show favouritism,I wasn't sure but now I feel it's true.Anyway I keep reading your posts to get the way things are going to be better informed,I enjoy reading you and 2 others,I always like a deeper understanding, for me it's an education.I sometimes wonder why I still worry about TT after all these years.

This is a football match sanctioned by FIFA and if we win we climb the standings, there's a lot of pride for every man involved, including the coach and manager. How can anyone say the match has no meaning.Let us just say that SKN played a player who,for some reason should not have been in their team, you do know they would be disqualified and TT would go top.Anyway so many things in life are important to those layers who played one of the best matches I have seen over the past few years,I for sure, didn't expect that,SKN did try some rough tactics but the boys didn't react.I we continue to improve, the great SKN brought back down to earth with a painful bump.

No manager could motivate such a bunch of idiots, most clueless, like it was the first time they ever stepped on a football pitch. The first thing I saw as everybody else, was the line of defenders Bahamas employed. We didn't even try to attack from the flanks, try and pull them out,we just tried once or twice, every attack was from the middle which suited Bahamas down to the ground,it just went on and on.We try the attack from the middle and they just tighten up their defence, didn't we have wingers, seems like it.
This match against St.Kitts should where our rebuilding starts, drop every man who was incapable of beating the 2nd or 3rd worst team in the world, all dem can do is pose and pretend to be footballers, most ah dem too big fuh dem boots, drop them all and start again.

We may still win this 1-0 and beat St.Kitts 2-1 and go on to beat teams like Costa Rica,Honduras,Mexico,USA and Jamaica, then top the Hex and qualify for WC 2022 .
This is the worst football I have ever had the misfortune to sit down and watch. What a load of dumbf**ks I had to watch, and I am talking about those shithounds playing for Trinidad. Not one of those even hold a ball and move it around just a little, they are all a load of planks, win or draw.

We should be using this match as a practice match instead of worrying about it,even if we play in practice mode we should still score 4 or 5,the real football starts on the 8th June 2021.

Should we be so overly worried about beating St.Kitts,we f**ked up against P.Rico and a lesson was learnt, just play the football we know we can, that is what we must do.I think every player plus the coach and manager knows exactly what is required. When allyuh worry I worry to,be positive and kick negativity outta de way.

What a shame our people never thought of leaving TT since the 60s like most West Indians did.I suppose life was too sweet for almost half of the population, the other half was too poor, to even think about going abroad.Every other Island including Guyana could call upon players who were born abroad, in better footballing countries. We better forget bout outsiders because the best teams we ever had was all Trinis born and bred,ah cyah forget The Strike Squad, and back in 1970 when were robbed by Haiti and their HENCHMEN.We eh got nobody abroad, and even when we have, they don't want to play for us.TBH, who in their right mind would want to play for TT if they read this MB :(

57
Man preparin he excuses from now.

As dey say....takin in front

If the team somehow surmounts these "impossible odds and adversity", it will be because of his superior training techniques and expertise.

Good tactic.
Well TBH I trust the Englishman more than Trini DL,he was taking TT down to a low.

Kevin Molino has done very little for TT and we keep hoping to see him every time we play, get Cummins in the team now and forget Molino.Let's hope TF go for K.Cummins,it was a sad day for TT football when somebody shoot the boy for nothing that really did put Cummins back by years, but I hope he plays again.
