Football / Re: Do you agree with 2 or 3 water breaks in a football match?
« on: December 11, 2005, 11:18:24 AM »
We had students in Bahrain dying of heat too.

But I'm against water breaks, I mean if it was a fifa match.

Heat and Humidity are advantages for us when playing home. I don't want to see that go away with a water break

Last world cup S. Korea played Italy, and when Ahn scored for his team, his Italian team sacked him
Do you think it can happen here? Or would your players be affected by that?

Football / Look for Nekhid
« on: November 25, 2005, 12:40:29 PM »
Hi guys

Just read something interesting

I was reading a sports column and the writer was talking as if Nekhid left Bahrain.

He was saying why was Nekhid here? And where did he suddenly disappear to?
And that no one in Bahrain trusted him.

So there you go, it looks like Nekhid is not here! Look around in Trini next time you go out to the mall I say!

how come police in usa carry guns but not in  the UK?

different countries have different ways.

This is just something we are used to if we have visitors. Just in case.

I can't beleive giving your team protection is a point against us. If we left them without police protection you will say we are careless.

guys
your just repeating things I said already. read me last post.

I'm not making excuses for Bahraini "fans", I'm saying I understand how this happened, but it was not forseen before.
Next time, we should learn from this and prevent this.
Don't talk to me like you have absolutly nothing your ashamed of or you never made a mistake.

We are all human and will (notice: will) err one day.
16, Bahrainis were wrong.

we'll try to adress that.

no one from our side complained about uzbek. they did.
it was replayed because as uzb was shooting a penelty, one of thier players got in the box.
what happens in this case is this:

1-if it was a goal, you shoot again
2- if it was outside, you give a freekick to the defending team.

So japanese ref gave us a  freekick when he should have given them another shot.

thats all.

Points to concider,

I was talking after the match, during the match I agree, I remember seeing something thrown towards your players, that is correct.
In our matches, bottles and cans and sticks are not allowed, but sometimes they get smuggled in.
Besides that, I think every other thing was thrown towards us.

As far as police sorrounding your team, that dosent mean they are in danger, its a normal precautionary measure done all around the world just in case.

Now, of course that is not a good thing at all. Any punishment is deserved simply because crowd is out of control.
Police was all over the stadium since morning, and they did arrest alot of hooligans, but the fact of the matter is that the hooligans were alot more than the actual poilce force. Why? Because that is the first time in my life that I saw a reaction like that. No one expected this to happen at all!

And the point that we do not deserve WC because our crowd sucks does not hold merit.
If that was the case, England with its world renouned hooligans would never play anything.
Also, the cheering was weak because there were several cheerleaders that day, from Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi & UAE, and everyone started thier own chant, so it became a mess :(

Bottom line: we did not expect this, I am man enough to admit when I am wrong and we had no excuse to act that way. Also the way our players behaved is unacceptable too. Kudos to trini who handled this match better and came out champions.

Now, if you go and say we are a peice of shit, I have to say "hush yuh ass"! ;D
What happened is good. Why? it showed the difference between a team that had a long football history like trini and a recently elevated team like bahrain.
You guys had problems that you had to work on for a long time: and this is the out come. Most majore problems are out of the way.

In our case: We suddenly had a good team.
Preperation, crowds, stadiums, security, procedures are still untested under these circumstances (of course).
That world cup pressure is exactly what we need to know exactly what we need to develop. Only when you test something you know what needs work.

Bahrain is a good country, with simple and hospitable people.
Bahrain is small but there is a wealth of sporting talents.
Arab customs enforce us to welcome guests, Islam also forbids us to hurt any person or vandelise anything, same time orders (repeat: orders) us to welcome guests and be cordial and also protect anyone in our home.

This was not religion or arabs or bahrainis, this was alot of people getting out of control. hopefully this will be overcome.

I said we will walk into this rivals and leave as friends. I hope thats true.

Football / Re: Playing the Ball in the Goalkeeper's Possession.
« on: November 19, 2005, 04:54:30 AM »

What would have been Fifa's response to our appeal?  Would they have ordered a replay based on what seems to be a clear violation of the rules (contrary to what the Bahrain people believe)?  And would we have had to replay the entire match over or starting from the 90th minute leading 1-0.  Would the replay be on a neutral ground or back in Bahrain?

no
that would be an error in judgement not error in enforcing rules

example:
a player is tackled in the box:

error in judgment: either a pemelty kick or not

error in enforcing the rules: the ref awards the tackeling team a throw in.

see what I mean?

so had the ref said that was a goal, the best thing a complaint will do is penalties against the ref. thats all.

sured that FIFA would act swiftly and severely. He pointed out that the situation in Bahrain was chaotic. However, he said the Trinidad and Tobago players behaved admirably. Warner said, they were pelted with stones and abused in all kinds of ways.ing one on March 29 that would ensure huge ticket sales.

LIAR!
Nobody ever touched them!
I was there myself. They were surronded by police, and all projectiles were going to our team, not yours.

Redbelt,
There were probably English Premier League scouts among the crowds in both matches. If you were to recommend two Bahrainis players who could be scooped up by the EPL, who would be your picks?
Well, our goal keeper for one.
Through out our history, almost all Bahraini goal keepers are good.
I would not be worried even if the sub. GK was playing.

Apart from him, people with skill and constant level must be
Salmeen 10
Talal Yousef 13
Alaa Hubail 30

I wouldn't recommend Talal now because he's over 30.. but the othertwo are quite young.

 :-\

In Df hussain baba 17 is great. He started as a FW. but is now defence and shoots strong free kicks.

so, 10, 13 if offence

GK or 17 if defence

Who in trini shoots freekicks? Are they any good at set plays?

Redbelt have to come to Trinidad for a Carnival.... :rotfl:

Yeah come fur Carnival and ah go show ya how to pelt some waist on de QPS stage.....
now doh worry i ain't ah man...iz a gyul.  :rotfl:
hope ya could handle some extra meat....START Training :beermug:

Hey trinicana, thanks for the invite. may do that one day! Post pics of de carnival please!

and to dcs, we ARE mad at the players.
All you know about Bahrain is these two matches. They play alot alot better.
But you know what our problem is? Our standard changes 180 degrees from time to time.
We go to Azadi & draw
We beat IRAN before
We lost to Japan in asia in the last minutes of second extra time after getting 3 goals on them and after the match they collapsed & started crying. They play awsome games.

But some times, they draw with yemen & let North Korea win. That makes us mad of course.

Imagin trini beating Mexico then losing to say... Somalia
Then you draw with England and then also draw against sudan
wouldn't you be angry?

Trust me, if you play against them in WC, go and see Irankicks.com

You will have a new enemy.
