Dinanath Ramnarine, president and chief executive officer of the West Indies Players Association (WIPA), has resigned, citing the need to refresh and reinvigorate the organisation with new leadership.

A WIPA statement yesterday noted that the WIPA board of directors had announced the resignation and that it came "as no surprise, since the long-serving and deeply-committed Ramnarine has always advocated and sought to refresh and reinvigorate the organisation with new leadership".

Ramnarine assumed the position of WIPA president in 2002 at the same time that Wavell Hinds was appointed as treasurer.

WIPA secretary Andrew Richardson said the Trinidad and Tobago national had indicated last year that 2012 would be his last year with the organisation.

"He has now completed a perfect decade. We wish to recognise that he has served meritoriously over those ten years", he added.

Ramnarine's resignation takes effect March 31 and Hinds, who has served on the WIPA executive for the same period as Ramnarine, will assume the presidency of the Players Association until the annual general meeting later this year.

Hinds, elected the same day as Ramnarine, said: "It is truly a depressing day for West Indian cricket to see Mr Ramnarine depart.

"We were well advised that this day will come but hoped it would never materialise. We are all saddened by his decision, given his outstanding contribution and great personal sacrifice to WIPA," said Hinds.

"In the face of all adversity, his credibility and integrity, combined with his strong leadership qualities, remain some of his strongest and greatest attributes, taking WIPA to great heights," Hinds added.

The WIPA statement said that, from the start, "Dinas", as he is known, worked assiduously throughout the region to reframe players worth and the value of individuals to the game.

"He successfully negotiated increased sponsorship payments for the 2003 World Cup and secured compensation for players who were injured during the period of 1999-2003.

"Ramnarine's vision and leadership at WIPA has progressively advanced the cause of players and the rules of the off-field game by leaps and bounds.

"His tenure has been defined by ground-breaking negotiations aimed at bringing West Indies cricket into the 21st century. He was the first to push the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) to enter into a formal collective bargaining agreement for the players, and negotiated the single largest West Indian cricketer pay increase in history," the statement added.

"In the face of some barriers, Ramnarine has fought with determination to elevate the game and to increase transparency in the management of players and resources."

Michael Hall will act as the interim CEO and Ramnarine has agreed to act in an advisory capacity to assist with the transition as is required.

The other members of the WIPA board are Ramnaresh Sarwan, Andrew Richardson, Samuel Badree, Dave Kissoon and Derik Lattibeaudiere.

Strike action called off...parties settle at 9% increase.

Petrotrin and OWTU Sign Terms of Settlement.

PETROTRIN and the Oilfields Workers' Trade Union signed Terms of Settlement on behalf of the Five Bargaining Units represented by the Union.       

Under the Terms of Settlement, workers have gained a 9% General Salary Increase over three years following the consolidation of Cost of Living Allowance (COLA).

The increases have been allocated as follows:
1.   A one percent (1%) First Year General Increase after the consolidation of COLA to Basic Salary
2.   A two percent (2%) Second Year General Increase to Basic Salary
3.   A six percent (6%) Third Year General Increase.                                             
Most allowances have also increased by 10 percent (10%).                                       

PETROTRIN places on record our thanks to the Minister of Labour who facilitated the conciliation talks that enabled these agreements. We also wish to thank the OWTU for their constructive participation in the process.

Just got the news on CNC.  He say he not getting any cooperation from WICB and the players definitely not happy.
He listed a whole setta payments and plans that WICB ent even start to address as yet.

The full news should be in the papers tomorrow.

Right fellas, ah now settle back to life in Trini after my failed trials at Manu, Arsenal and Inter 

Anyway, for the latter part of 2008 I was just saving some of allyuh comments that I thought was interesting in my own cynical way.  I soon realised the list began to grow and decide to nurture it...

So I have some of the quotes from last year that I found to be either humorous, ridiculous or just plain mind boggling.  I think the best phrase to sum it up would be..."Posts that make you go hhhmmm..."

Doh get no horrors...not meant to offend anyone in anyway....is just for kicks.  I didn't save the links for the threads, but I'm sure allyuh could get them if allyuh want to see the context in which some of the posts were made.  Some quotes (in italics) had to be included so yuh could get the jist of the comment (in red).

BTW..My post of the year 2008 goes to non other than Sam....read to the end if yuh want to check it out.

Post - De 2-2 draw against Jamaica was a great result, and the boys never gave up, but we did not by any stretch of de imagination play well. Just last year we came back from a goal down to draw 1-1 with Guatemala, and we played with 10 men for over an hour, and we could have won it at the death. Also, as I mentioned before, we came from 2 goals down to draw 2-2 with Guadeloupe in Guadeloupe, and we drew 0-0 with El Salvador. Maturana try out all kinda players, but when de stakes get high he end up using ah setta de same players dat Wim was using.

What ah getting at, is dat de arguments to support de notion dat Wim was ah goat and ah hound are unfounded when yuh talking about football, results, team selection etc. What it boils down to is de man had no charisma, and probably no tact, personality and people skills. But wit all de talk Wim talk in de media, he give all kinda man de debut, call back men who didn't sweat in ah long time, as well as men who had sporadic caps. He regularly attended Pro League games to see what was on offer. A lot of people jes doh like de man, or never care fuh him. Is ah simple case of dey blood eh take him. Eh nutten wrong wid dat. I mehself never rate Porterfield, although he was our best ever coach statistics-wise, but ah cyar back it up with facts. I jes feel dat most if not all de good results he got was as a result of de tightly knit team dat Bertille built, but I cyar prove dat, is jes how ah feel.

At de end of de day Maturana and Wim are/were operating under a different set of conditions.

I just want to see our football progress, not just de senior team, but all facets.[/i]

Post - Guatemala put on a nice half time show, never knew they had so much nice women there. I was amaze, fat tuntun, camel toe all kinda thing, you name it. Meh totoe start to hurt meh for standing 24 hours straight. I had to take them two thing in de bar ah meet and blaze them like ah just come outta jail. Price was cheap too. Them was real friendly, young, young girls like 10 or 11 begging for us to come in they house with them when we walking down de streets, I run fast.... we, no jail bait thing on my menu. Yesterday there was Gally Cummings and today they had Terry Fenwick and Angus Eve.

Yesterday Gally held no bones about saying that the local football ent going no where until the TTFF administration change.  Allyuh know Gally, he doh hold back he mouth on them issues.  He made one comment that surprised me though.  Fazeer asked him about the youth football and the recent U17 WC we had played in the other day.  He said that the only reason we 'qualified' for that WC was because JW intervened and something about us playing Jamaica twice for the qualifying spot.  Tallman yuh could check records and see what took place ?

He also said that no local coach would be successful with the national team, because any local coach was given the job with intent to fail.  The local coach would just be a pappy show for Warner who would control everything.  A foreign coach would be given the high salaries, house and car and perks and could basically do what he wants.  The local coach go have to fight up to get anything near what the foreigner getting.  It was a fight down with the local coaches because none of them want to talk against Warner because they go lose they wuk, and anybody throat get buss, just mean that the other man chances just improved.  He say he couldn't understand what LP doing as TD.  LP was supposed to be Mats boss and directing things, but yuh just not hearing from him at all.

I tried to call in about 10 times and couldn't get through.

This morning Angus and Fenwick on the show.  The same talk again about the TTFF administration stiflin the football, the need to change those men at the top, the need to look at youth football and youth development programs as the only way to save us.  The lack of proper infrastructure means that after 2010 (should we qualify) we would be in the same khaki pants.  Both men spoke their minds without fear.

I get through as the first caller this morning.  I mention the point about Warner owning TTFF so doh expect he to relinquish the top dog post.  I ask Fenwick if he was offered the wuk if they fire Maturana.  First he laugh and say he have a good wuk with Jabloteh he ent need that stress, then he get serious and say that he would love to be in national team framework doing whatever he can to help out...if approached, he would say accept.

He get lil tone from Faz about the "hand of God" goal from Maradona and that was about it in a nutshell.

He making some good points.  I feel he does really check out this site often.  He basically expressing the same sentinents a lot of forumites expressed last week concerning the effect of the draw on the NT and the possibility of getting 6 - 9 points from the first three games.

Ah vex ah wasn't there to see the game.  The last time the team score so much was against Pville in the 1st round of the league.

....and we was looking forward to meeting up with Naps again in the national final.

When ah oldish ball get wet, it does get slimey and weigh about 10 lbs ? Yute men would ketch dey arse to kick dat.
When games were only played in the daytime ?
When a man get a serious blade, yuh either wait till he get back up, or if it look serious, just drag him to side of the field and continue the game ?
When fellas didn't wear tights under they shorts, or 'body armour' under dey shirt ?
When to look like a footballer, yuh had to have the strings in yuh shorts hanging outside yuh pants half down yuh leg ?
When Patrick, Lotto, Mitre and Pony was big name tugs ?

Football / What is your most memorable game storming ?

I remember when they had not too long put up the big wall at the back of Skinner Park 1st ground.  Big intercol Pres vs Naps south final.  Some experience men, from the 'Ville and La Romain, lean some planks against the wall.  The planks could only reach half-way up the wall, so man taking a run up from behind the goal in the 2nd grounds, race up the plank and still hadda make about two three steps on the wall and divee and grab on to the top and pull yuhself over the wall.

Me and mih pardner think about three times before we say lehwe try it, even though we in full uniform (we only in form 2).  He was almost a foot taller than me and he gone first and make it.  I start off fast, hesitate half way up the plank and slow down when ah feel it kinda twist under mih foot.  In the end ah press for the kick down, make one step on the wall and just barely grab on to the top of the wall with eight fingers.  The plank fall from under mih and I barely hanging on to the wall for dear life, not to mention the shame of not makin it over the wall.  Mih pardner was still sitting on top the wall, grab one of mih and help mih pull mihself up on top the wall.  By the time ah reach over, mih shirt same colour with the wall, missing three buttons, and all mih chest, elbow and ego bruise up bad.  Ah get in to see the game though, but was nuff Iodex when ah reach home.

Ah remember too the day before Nov 19th 1989.  Me and ah next pardner camping out by he sister in town to get ah early start for the big game.  Morning come and yuh boy now realise he forget he ticket home in south.  Ah buss out about 6 o'clock and head out back to Sando.  Only empty car on the stand, but eventually a car leave half full.  Traffic on the north bound and me and two other people in a taxi heading back south...we alone on the southbound highway.  Ah rush home...see mih mother by the door...she mumble something about wha ah doing home...ah mumble back something about ticket and ah gone again for a north taxi now.  No problem to get taxi and the driver take two more dollars to carry we straight by the HCS (was it Mucurapo Stadium in them days ?).  Anyway, pull up by the stadium and see crowd ah people trying to get in.  As a thinking how ah getting in now, ah see a next pardner with a catering service, carrying trays of food and pastries and thing.  Ah gone by the van, hail him out, and take up a tray with something smellin real good and walk in through the gate.  Nobody stop mih and ask mih nothing.  Ah drop off the tray and head up topside.  The time is now about 12 o'clock...ah have about 3 hrs again to sweat in blazing sun, cyah find mih pardner, and mih ticket that ah went back Sando for, still in mih pocket

How allyuh really feel about taking pips for Caribbean dominance in the sprints

Notwithstanding the West Indies Cricket Team...

I know plenty people does just want to celebrate something, so once a Caribbean athlete in the medals man does be jumpin and bawling like if TT win something.  Does the rest of the Caribbean feel the same way when T&T win a medal ?  Are we just so starved for success that we does be trying to bite off a lil piece ah somebody else own ?  Kinda like when man does get pips to tell people how they know Lara personally, or he is they third cousin on dey step father side.

Football / TT Womens' U20 lose to Youngston University

Well I was really surprised not to see this game advertised in the papers nor hear it on the radio.
Is a good thing the YSU coach is mih breds.

The game was played at the Larry Gomes Stadium yesterday.  Now this wouldn't compare with a Touches match report because I realise topics with women football doh ever get too many hits anyway.

The game was played at a high intensity throughout.  These young women have to be commended for the 90 mins of fight and grit....and their level of fitness.

Most of our ladies were smaller in built than the Americans.  YSU girls were definitely a touch stronger to the balls and showed their physical presence.  YSU, here for a week played 3 games in four days and won them all.  I understand that they had their hands full with the Jabloteh ladies on Tuesday though. (3- 2).

The game ended 3 goals to nil in favour of the visitors.  One of the goals was a 'softee' as TT had an outside player deputising in the goal on the day.  The regular goal keeper who lives in Tobago had exams and could not make the game.

The YSU team has been in training since early January this year and it showed.  They were a well oiled machine.   I spoke to the TT coach, Marlon Charles during the game.  This guy really seems to have the womens' football program at heart.  He is trying his best to develop the different squads for the upcoming tournaments.  He wasn't too disappointed with the results as the TT team did not even have a proper practice session before the game yesterday.  Most of the TT players are students in the US and came in just a couple days before the encounter.  There were only three locals in the team.

What he really wanted was exposure for the players and local womens football on the whole.  I promised that through this site/forum we would oblige with the awareness campaign however we can.

The pics of the game will be sent to Tallman to post up.

I understand them lil white girls bussing up pelau and roti like thing going outta style oui.

Drawing on his vast football experience, Jack Warner yesterday used the metaphor of the "red card" to order National Security Minister Martin Joseph off the field of play, or more directly, told him to quit as Minister.

Exercising the power and adopting the demeanor of a referee, Warner dramatically opened a brown case.

"In football, when you want to get a player off the field, you give them a red card, Minister...," he said, giving Joseph his marching orders.

Warner held up not one, but two red cards, as he made the statement.

Joseph, however, did not leave as he was instructed to, but instead joined in the general laughter. In fact, the only stern face in the Parliament chamber was Warner's. Amidst the mirth, Warner said since Joseph did not appear to be able to see the resignation letter recently tendered in the House by Dr Roodal Moonilal, he (the Minister) could not miss the sight of the big two red cards.

The Chaguanas West MP was speaking in the debate on the crime motion in the House of Representatives yesterday. During his contribution, Warner also criticised a calypsonian "clown" who, he said, Government had managed to get to sing "the same old trash that he has been singing for the last ten years on Basdeo Panday and Oma".

"For the last six years, this country has had traffic jams like mad, crimes aplenty, water shortage, the city of POS is being systematically destroyed, health is in shambles, education is crisis and the calypsonian clown, whose son was murdered, could sing on Bas and Oma and of course, now on Jack Warner," the UNC Deputy Political leader stated.

He said it was because of the PNM that the calypso artform was dying, and the artistry of George Bailey and Harold Saldenha and Tito Velasquez was being replaced with bra and panty.

"That is what they (the PNM) have done," he said.

Turning back to Joseph, Warner said he meant no disrespect, but "God made some of us tall, some short, some fat, some thin, some bright like me and others like the Prime Minister". He said in the same vein, Joseph just did not look or act the part of National Security Minister.

"He just doesn't cut it," Warner said, suggesting that San Fernando West MP, Junia Regrello, had more of the bearing.

"Tall, stately, threatening," he said, speaking of Regrello and causing chuckles.

Warner ruled out Trade Minister Dr Keith Rowley, predicting that the PM would never make him National Security Minister.

"If that were the case, the Prime Minister would never leave the country," he said.

Quoting Citadel Limited (I95FM) owner Louis Lee Sing, Warner said the blame for the escalating crime had to be laid solidly at the Prime Minister's door. He said the present crime situation was a "direct result" of PM Manning, who wined and dined the community leaders at the Crowne Plaza and at the Ambassador Hotel.

"The only community leader I wined and dined at the Crowne Plaza was Basdeo Panday," Manning shot back, referring to the famous Crowne Plaza Accord.

"Having wined and dined the community leaders, he cannot now destroy the tiger that he has fed ... that he has kept strong," Warner said.

"The Prime Minister has been feeding the crime tiger and he cannot stop now. If he does, he is in deep trouble.

Panday chimed in, saying: "That's right! He cannot dismount the tiger."

But Warner claimed that Manning, who fired non-performers from his last Cabinet, could not fire Joseph because he owed Joseph some favours from the time when he (Manning) faced a challenger for the PNM leadership in 1996 "and some party groups were formed quick, overnight".

Football / How can our team learn from a 4 - 0 drubbing ?

The question of how or what does a team learn from a drubbing has been plaguing me for a long time and I welcome my more learned forumites to impart their knowledge on the topic.  I know it have a couple coaches and ex-national players in the forum....and plenty armchair coaches too.  COOPS this is your kinda topic.

You see, is years now I keep hearing after every game we lose, the coaches and players make the statement "we HAVE to learn from the experience and move on." 
So then I ask myself, have we really learned from the defeat, if so what, and how do we implement what was learnt ? 
Is there a post-game review with the technical staff and players ?
Do they watch over the match tapes and point out flaws, go on the training ground and correct them ?
What about now where team split up right after the game and man gone back where dey come from, or back to the clubs to continue with their flaws ?
While the game going on, do players 'learn' anything about the opponents, or only after when the coach point it out ?
And like the case of several teams in the past, after the loss, the team change up, so is new players in the team now....would these new players have benefitted from the supposed learnings of the previous team ?  Even now where we still experimenting with players.
Maybe is just the coach alone does 'learn' from the side line and hopefully try to correct the flaws in subsequent training sessions...since he is most likely the only sure pick to all the teams.

Is it just a statement you make at the post-match press conference to save face, or try to keep a positive outlook ?  I does fed-up hear Brian Lara say that after every friggin game WI lose, and then man go back to the next game and NOTHING change, same licks.

Look the coach say Hardest not fit, Hardest heself say he not fit, it take him half a club season, the pre-tournament training, whole Digicel Cup tournament, and two friendlies...over two months of competitive football, and he still not fit after the last friendly against CR.  Nothing against Hardest (eh TI), just using that as an example to see how/what we learn from past games.  Since the hex some years ago, men on this board talking about the weaknesses in defence, or our defensive game, and up to yesterday men STILL talking about that as a weakness and the cause for the drubbing from CR.

So fellas, I am not trying to be naive or cynical towards the teams.  I know is not a prefect world so when allyuh responding doh say "you could never tell how a game will go or how the ball go bounce".  It hadda be more than that.  Help mih out here nah.

Football / New York WN crew....where a man could get a decent sweat ?

Attention all NYC WN crew !!!

Pardners will be making his now annual trip to New York next week. 
My base camp should most likely be in Queens...Ozone Park to be more specific, but I normally run the rout all over the place.  I try to find a soft spot whereever night ketch mih....allyuh know what ah mean...

But in addition to the boat limes, ah hoping to get in a couple sweat over the next month or so as well.   Some time ago ah get a small wet from some fellas in Forte Greene in Brooklyn.  I was a spectator for a sweat in Prospect Park once too.  I know for the NY WN family day men talk about plenty parks or field where it have sweat, but then same men talk about police breaking up sweat too...so ah eh know 

Allyuh vibes mih nah...anywhere close to Ozone Park in Queens good, or if is in Brooklyn and easy to find that is alright too.  Ah know Brooklyn better than Queens.

Germany, though, won the world cup in 1990. Before that, Germany won in 1974.   
Look: 1990 + 1974 = 3964   


This could lead us to guess the winner of the World Cup in 2002,

since it should be the winner of the 1962 World Cup (In fact 3964 - 2002 = 1962).

Football / The Lighter Side of World Cup

Just get a email and sharing a laugh with allyuh....


It is just before the England v Brazil match. Ronaldinho goes into the Brazilian changing room to
find all his teammates looking a bit glum.

"What's up?" he asks.

"Well, we're having trouble getting motivated for this game. We know it's important but it's only England.
They're sh*te and we can't be bothered."

Ronaldinho looks at them and says, "Well, I reckon I can beat them by myself-you lads go down the pub."

So Ronaldinho goes out to play England by himself and the rest of the Brazilian team go off for a few jars.
after a few pints they wonder how the game is going, so they get the landlord to put the teletext on. A big
cheer goes up as the screen reads

"Brazil 1 - England 0 (Ronaldinho 10 minutes)". He is beating England all by himself!

 A few pints later and the game is forgotten until someone remembers,  "It must be full time now, let's
see how he got on." They put the teletext on.

 "Result from the Stadium 'Brazil 1 (Ronaldinho 10 minutes) - England 1 (Lampard 89 minutes)."

They can't believe it; he has single-handedly got a draw against England!!

They rush back to the Stadium to congratulate Ronaldinho. They find him in the dressing room, still
in his gear, sitting with his head in his hands.

He refuses to look at them. "I've let you down, I've let you down."

"Don't be daft, you got a draw against England, all by yourself. And they only scored at the very, very end!"

"No, no, I have, I've let you down...I got sent off after 12 minutes."

Football / Your Most Memorable 'Old School' match

Recent threads on the board about past players and where they are now, brought back some real good football memories for me.

So I want to know... what is your most memorable 'OLD SCHOOL' game whether is for SCHOOL, CLUB or INTERNATIONAL ?
For this case 'OLD SCHOOL' will have to be defined as any season prior to 1991....because ah know some men would want to talk about the Strike Squad days.

One of my most memorable games would be 1985/86 Sando Tech vs Arima Snr. at the HC Stadium.
Those old enough would remember that year Tech boasted 11 national youth players...men like...
Leonson, Latas, Sutton (Russel or Ricardo, ah does get tie up with the two brothers), Ainsely Weekes, Sean Walkes, Marvellous Marvin Faustin, Gill, 'Nip', Anthony Clarke (who was at the sweat the other day) to name a few....
Arima was boasting the likes of Timothy Haynes and Kerry Jamerson (later strike squad) and others...
Anyway, game going down to the wire and scores deadlocked...then Faustin, who coulda play anywhere on the field...back, front, left, right...didn't make no difference, same poison...come charging down the right side, cut in towards to 18yd box from the by line...keeper rush out to cut off the angle...kinda half expecting Faustin to cross the ball since the angle cut off...but leave about a 9 inch space between he left leg and the near post...ent yuh know Faustin go put it right in the hole 
Crowd start to bawl....

Later that year, the same Tech team play the Defence Force in an exhibition game.  DF was the undisputed national champs at the time.  DF win the game one nil, but had to play they arse off to get the goal late in the game.  DF team at the time had men like Roderick 'Rambo' Gibbs, Bertran O' Brian, Seales (a short redman from the coast guard), Sutton (the older of the brothers).

The big clubs in those days were TRINTOC, DF, CIVIC CENTRE and CARONI.

Football / Suggested improvements for next Warrior Nation Sweat

Well the first one came and went, and it was a success in my book.

I think we should start to think about the next one and others to come, so I thought up some suggested improvements (while it fresh in mih mind) and invite you guys to add or delete as you see fit, so that when the next sweat roles around we would enjoy ourselves even more.  The foreigners could take notice too if they plan to follow suit.

1. Maybe we could make the day a permanent fixture on the WN calendar.  Possible days could be like the first Sat/Sun after carnival or christmas (since plenty men does come back around those times), or any other day that we could maximise on the influx of the foreign based contingent.  The foreign based folks could now plan better when they visit for Xmas or carnival.  Ah hearing talk about a foreigners vs local warriors brewing

2. We could link up with a sponsor or two to have different colour jerseys...nothing fancy...just for the sweat.  Maybe Soccer World could help out here.  Men might still have to chip in with something if we don't get fully sponsored though.

3. Name tags could be given out upon registration or on the day depending on convenience, that way if oconorg or Andre Samuel not around and somebody too shy to introduce themselves, people could always see yuh 'handle' on yuh clothes.  We could get sticky tape for men who want to walk around bare back.

4. We could get a WN banner at the venue so people could feel important and thing...big up weself nah.

5. We need a doctor or nurse or ambulance services or at least a medicine kit at the sweat in case Andre Samuel get injured again ....or if men have to make twins on the field    allyuh know what ah talking about...call names and I would.. .

6. To add some more interest in the game/s, maybe we could up the stakes from just bragging rights.  I not sure exactly how yet, but maybe collect a $5 or so from each player and the winning team get to buss the bank.  Or maybe vouchers for discounts on warriors kits...something..anything.

7. More food on the day.  Somebody suggested the pie man or doubles man too.  One thing for sure it would have a BIGGER pot for the fish broth so men wouldn't have to wait on two pots to bubble.

8. Maybe a bar, or least a couple more coolers of beers and whatnot, because ah feel the next sweat would be bigger.

9. Maybe tighter security wherever the venue is, so the outsiders wouldn't steal our cameras and cell phones.  Or maybe just put all our stuff where we could keep an eye on it for ourselves, or perhaps by the non-sweating warriors and lady warriors.

10. COME EARLY AND BRING YUH FAMILY !!!  BRING YUH MAN / GYUL / HUSBAND / WIFE / OUTSIDE WOMAN...not if yuh wife coming / CHILDREN ETC....

11. Almost forget....get proper officials for the next sweat, so Jeferz and Small M wouldn't buss mih head... 

Ah sure allyuh could come up with some more suggestions....or maybe discard some of mine.  Judging on rental of the grounds alone, I already see that maybe the contribution have to increase slightly for the next sweat.

Football / Draft player system for PFL ???

There was something in the Lincoln Philip interview that sparked a thought.  This is concerning the comments about the SSFL and the PFL teams and comments where primarily two teams dominate a league.

Do you think a draft system (similiar to the NBA) from SSFL to PFL could work in T&T  . 

In a nutshell, the draft system in the NBA allows a ranking amongst college players, and the lowest ranked team will get the first pick for the highest ranked player.  The teams could trade as they want after the draft...sometimes even negotiated BEFORE the actual draft.  But this system basically prevents the more financially advantaged teams from swooping up the best players by offering better contracts.  It also allows for team building so that if younger players stay with a club, they and the club benefit in the turnover years.  Domination would only come if after the draft, a team could still lure the big players old or new, and have a star boy like Jordan, Kobe, Lebron, Shaq etc.....
