Football / Re: Senior team blanked
« on: October 04, 2012, 02:05:13 PM »
The irony of it all is the pretext under which they refuse to fund the senior team, claiming football development or the lack thereof which that blame goes sorely on the previous president mr oliver camps and special adviser (back door president, AKA wizard of OZ, the unseen hand) jack warner, the same man who is now silent during this whole debacle.

why weren't they worried about development in late 2010 when they went and hire the german, or 7 months after when we had not played a solitary game in prep for WCQ?

king dese, i agree with you, but there are ppl who were never stooges to jack in the past admin, and according to my breddren who happens to know the present president very well,  lennex watson was never a jack yes man, and he used to dog camps for being soft and not having the balls to stand up to jack.

yeh, though watson was a good friend of jack, he also had the strength of mind to put jack in his place if he felt encroached on, i believe that this man has the potential to make a good pres, he just came @ the wrong time. like i said before, i believe in hartford and watson, i believe if these men are given the chance they could make the necessary change that is needed in football, but they just need ah break.

JC...if you hear from some of the players in the East zone, especially the Prisons football team, they will disagree with your breds opinion of Lennox Watson.  Actually most people feel is because he was Jack's yes man...that is the reason he get the wuk. :-\
Breds hear meh well, i not trying to paint a pretty picture of watson, as a matter fact there's nothing for me to gain in defending him.

but the fact remains, the only reason this sanctions is taking place is BC he formed an alliance with with hartford and put some distance between himself and jack, now if he is truly a "yesman" as you say, then he would still be in jack's good graces and we would not be having this conversation.

the fact that the man was willing to abandon jack's influence and swayed in the direction that is better for our football is testament that the man unlike camps has chosen an independent position.

yeh i know bout the zones and all the other power plays, and that was foul, but the way how things is with T&T football, i would rather take a life time of watson than a season of camps, after all, when yuh between the devil and the deep blue sea and choices are extremely limited, ah raft does look ah hell of ah lot better than ah floating log.

Me ent saying yea or nay...me ent even know the man.  I just saying...PLENTY people would disagree with yuh breds opinion that is all.  As I am sure a lot of people also agree with yuh breds opinion.

In one sense the answer to this question isn't too difficult. But, in another it is. I eh want to muddy the waters or complicate the issue, but it's like a philosophical puzzle.

Is there a solution that "hurts" the TTFF but does not bring suffering to players (seniors or juniors)?

A hostile take-over  ;D

Went to see the Pres vs Naps clash.  Nice crowd in the Manny and atmosphere like if Intercol done start already...actually it was that way when they met in the first game in the first rounds as well.  Plenty young girls screaming at their favourite players...but they walking up and down the blasted stadium non-stop.  It had at least 100 students who didn't even see the game cause all them studying to do is lay dey rap on them young girls downstairs.  Pay they money to in the stadium and chat down young girls oui  ;D

Anyway since Seabra take over the coaching duties at Naps they playing like a Brazilian team...real knock, had about 65% of the ball possession (no lie) but had one shot on goal for the whole game.  Pres on the other hand...three passes and they inside Naps 18yds.  Big gun Henry throw away two sitters and missed out on a hattrick.

I could understand where Flex coming from...but remember for how many years we wear jerseys at games ? Remember how we print signs and banners ?  Remember how we talked about boycotting the team games...just to prove we disgust with the football operations ?
Remember how men would still go to the games...some men hiding from having to show support for the cause.  Well truth be told...deep down inside we still wanted the best for our national teams and we wanted to see good football...in spite of the corruption in TTFF.

Well look we ent have to do a damn thing now...massa day come.  But yes I know...we still feel the urge to help out the boys.  But will we really be helping them with handouts ?

I drop mih breds home the other day...he was rushing to go in the airport to pick up his son who played against Canada with the national team last month.  He telling me he couldn't understand why he got a call at midnight telling him to bring his son to the airport for 6am to leave with the NT to play Canada.  Well we know now is only because the National Lotteries Board stepped in last minute and give the team a bligh.  They just called up whoever was available (and had visas), no matter what age, and tell them come and take a sweat.  A youth man on the current Pres team was just hanging out in the area over there...went to watch the game and the coach call him and give him a sweat...just so just so he win a national cap.

I feel we might create a situation that have them wondering "so we getting to play this game...but what about the game after this one...and the one after that one...and the one after...."

It hard enough training hard and not knowing whether yuh making the team or not...It can't be right having to buss yuh arse in training, make the team, and then not knowing whether yuh going to the tournament or not.

Remember guys, Jack Warner is KING of Trinidad and Tobago and the faster you guys learn to accept this the easier your heart will burn you.

No money for the current TTFF until they resign and it will continue to be this way, I will personally make sure of this.

You see it took 5 years for the 2006 Soca Warriors to calm down, now the TTFF will have to go through the same fete, Jack will strangle them until they eventually break.

The Trinidad and Tobago team will face FIFA saction very soon.

Football in T&T will be dead and this site will soon follow as their will be nothing to write about or publish. Jack wins again and the funny thing is, he is not even in football anymore...!!!!
Just cool, a personal message for you, Jack is the smartest blackman you will ever meet.

Jack will rise again and the world will beg for him to come back and I hope he says NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plz explain to me how the death of football in this country makes Jack Warner a winner.

Ent, Men have real misguided goals. The man happy it have no football in the country and proud of it. Football doesn't belong to anyone

what do you expect when the poster is Jack himself (Directly or indirectly)! It just goes to show the selfishness of the man. Thief all the money and then party when the game dies and players suffer.

How will Jack win ?  He gets his way regardless of the outcome.
Doh forget Jack is the proprietor of the TTFF, so even if sponsors jump in and help the team, things continue as they are now...TTFF still come out smelling nice.  If he doesn't put money...no love lost...money still in he pocket.

The only real way to hurt Jack now rests on the court case with the warriors.  Although it done looking as though the judge pandering to Jack already.  Anybody else woulda done get they arse hauled to jailed for not following the court's instructions.  It looking as though everybody in office fraid this man called Jack Warner.

I think we will do more for football in this country if we focus our energies on getting rid of the current administration rather than propping up the teams.

Stueps. Just so? What happened to country first. I have no respect for them players if this is true.

And doh look sharp...if they only win the tournament yuh go be hearing all kinda talk about recognition from the government.
TT$1M per player...and they might damn well get it too oui.

If that is true...well I real disappointed with them fellas.
Yuh see what this shit with Bravo, Pollard and Narine causing ?
If them fellas had a clause in their contract that allows them..or rather makes it mandatory for them to represent their country (or even WI) instead of the club team all this shit would not have been going on.

WIPA and all...yes yuh want to support your members, but right is right and wrong is wrong and at times you have to tell players when their actions are not in the best interest of the game and the country.

WTF the money received from them three players have to do with the other players ?  Their main argument could only be that their absence diminishes the strength of the T&T team...and chances of moving forward in the tournament and potential loss of earnings etc etc etc.  So what if those players were injured ?

Boy the way some players does think when coming to their country...hmmm...leaves one to wonder oui.

Vote for the party that actually has a developmental plan for the country. Consider also whose reputation can stand scrutiny.  In a serious country KPB would not even have been considered after her the mess she created as Minister of Education. I won't even mention the catalog of errors and outright immoral acts that she has committed as PM.

We not serious that is y we in this hott mess.

my hope is, if people do decide to bring back d pnm "provided that another viable option doh present itself" dat we keep up d pressure until our political parties have no choice but to govern responsibly and most importantly governing for the benefit of all or risk being thrown out on their collective asses...........ah mean is high time dat we kill this shitty type of gov't once and for all and force govt to truly be accountable to the people

I agree.  The only problem is that 2 years again is plenty time for people to forget what happening today.  With the proper PR from this govt they will attempt to spin it so that the people forget about all their failures...and even blame the PNM for the PP failures...The sad thing is that they have already convinced at lot of the masses.

Many people got cheques from Moonilal.. The question is this, why was this picture published? I am pretty sure there are other pictures of other beneficiaries receiving cheques. But this one has meaning behind it. There is no conspiracy, but rather creativity in telling a story with a picture. To me, this picture tells us who has power in T&T.. And who doesn't have power...

This picture should be a wake up call. This is the position that Afri-Trinidad is in right now. No power.. Reliance on gov't assistance.. etc.. Moonilal or UNC never set up this pic..steups

Allyuh jokers can't be serious... "creativity in telling story"?? Dude, the picture is the story.  The photographer had nothing to do but snap the shot... the woman and her actions is what makes the story.  What bullshit 'creativity' talk yuh coming with?  I does try to be patient but not when man on here trying to push ah divisive agenda.

Bakes, I know what you are saying. But I have a question. Do you think the photographer took pictures of others receiving cheques from Moonilal? Again, I not saying there is a conspiracy of some sort. But this type of picture is what is called "shock advertising".  This is used to stir emotions and tell a story. Let me ask you another question, do you think any Indians received cheques? If so, how come we arent seeing any of those pics... Again, pictures are published for a reason. Only few understand this multilayering of story telling that lies in visual communication. It exists all over the place.

Semiotics

I think you readin too much into that breds...if 10 people did shake the minister hand and one lady did give him a big hug, the hug woulda be the front page pic.

It jus so happen her reaction was way worse (at least visually) than any hug

I just playing devil's advocate here eh but...Moonilal did pull her up and gave her a hug...however we ent get to see the pic with the hug.  ;D

My photography teacher started off the class with the statement that.."every good picture tells a story...the story is not always evident, but the more the evident the story is, the better the picture seems to be."

Excellent appraisal of the situation.

The voters should note the key players in this, and it's not just those immediately culpable. Anil Roberts and Jack Warner both stood in defence of this malpractice and did their best to shift the focus back to the PNM. This device is getting to be so tiresome. It happened. Get over it. Two hundred wrongs don't make one right. Their lack of apology, both in the parliament and after the event should illuminate the electorate.

And it was amazing how the Prime Minister could be so vocal through the debate, without having the gumption to take to her feet, and yet be so silent now the magnitude of the storm is upon her. A leader must accept responsibility and take action against those who have misled her cabinet and made them look both foolish and indictable. It's either one or two bad apples, or the whole cabinet. Whichever, someone or everyone must go. But worse, to see a significant number of the population take to the streets, albeit stirred by the opposition, should warrant a response from the PM.

The tactic of pretending things haven't happened cannot prevail forever.

Well I guess the concern was addressed.
I for one REALLLLLLYYYYY glad they buss Volney's throat....too stupid and arrogant.

136
We already have Pollard,Bravo,Narine and Cooper, who knows we may even have Simmons and Badree next.

Who knows...in the next two years when all the T&T players playing for their IPL teams, we will have to bring back Lara and Ganga to play for T&T.

137
I looked at Partap during the press conference and I just get the feeling he lying about some things.  Too much loopholes in his statements.

1. Yuh cant tell if the swivels lights on or not?  Them friggin lights woulda be flashing brightly at that hour of the morning.  He woulda be sure to see the reflection some where.
2.  It is also alleged that he had on the siren, but he made no mention of that, so we go let that one slide.
3.  Normally they would give you a test on the spot and then maybe take you to the police station if warranted.  I feel he refused to take the test on the spot (maybe because of the reason given) and that is why he end up in the station.
4.  If I was in that situation and wanted an independent witness to take the test...I making sure is a lawyer or mih pastor/priest/imam/pundit.  I ent calling on a next policeman to be the independent person nah.
5. No hard feelings towards Kamla ?  I sure she woulda have to call him before firing him.  She woulda have to get his side of the story...and I cant see her still firing him if he convinced her that he did not refuse to take the test.  Jack also allegedly spoke to him and did not seem to want to have his back after getting the info.

The person/company who advising this government on marketing failing badly.
I kinda have a different perspective on it...to some extent.  I believe this govt won the election on their PR campaign (apart from the help they got from Manning).  For a long time afterwards they kept up the campaign...IMHO with the intent to sink the PNM to its lowest low, maybe even to mash up the party.
Everything they do now is on the backbone of PR.  Even with the firing of the ministers...PR...simply cause they were expendable.  That would never happen with Suruj, Jack or Moonilal.  To the die-hards...that is good governance.  To the in-betweeners....wellll ok.  To the PNMites...we seeing through all the bullshit Kamla.

Plenty info to digest here.  I just have one recommendation to add at this point in time, which based on my perusal was not mentioned...

The MoS should wrest the control of football from private ownership and have it subjected to the total ambit of the MoS.  If it has to be privately operated afterwards so to be it, but the TTFF should be no different to any of the other sporting bodies in the country.

Need Kemar in de mix.  I thought Charles had a good 50 over series, not too sure of his T20 record.  Samuel is definitely a goat; hopefully Russell gets fit quick

IMO Fidel is more potent and Rampaul is more economic than Roach. I don't think we should play 3 fast bowlers in a T20 game, particularly when we have the medium pacers, Bravo, Pollard, Sammy and Russell. So for me, Roach just misses out if everyone is fit.

For me Charles can't get pick before Gayle and Dw Smith. Maybe in time, but once Gayle is playing for the Windies, him and Smith are top class batsmen than can destroy any bowling attack. Smith has definitely underachieved as he has more talent than most of the other Windies batsmen.

Yeah, doh disagree, ah meant for de larger squad, I agree for de most part w/your final 11

Yeah is a decent 11.

Well since nobody brought it up...I will play Devil's advocate....now I'm in no way condoning the player's actions, but...
When I read about the terms used...'sparked a criminal investigation' and 'prosecuted to the fullest possible extent and be banned from any further soccer action'...and hearing that is in SC...I just wondering if it was a white girl 'pummeling' a black girl, if such terms and actions would have been the order of the day.  It sounding like a murder was committed.

That's not playing devil's advocate... that's speculating.  Devil's advocate would be to defend or justify her actions.  I don't think speculation really adds anything to the discussions... if was two grown adults... what if one of them was a guy... if pigs had wings...

Ok Mr. Bakes
