Well since nobody brought it up...I will play Devil's advocate....now I'm in no way condoning the player's actions, but...
When I read about the terms used...'sparked a criminal investigation' and 'prosecuted to the fullest possible extent and be banned from any further soccer action'...and hearing that is in SC...I just wondering if it was a white girl 'pummeling' a black girl, if such terms and actions would have been the order of the day.  It sounding like a murder was committed.

Hard to say from the highlights alone, but it looked as though it was a classic game of backs and forwards.  I saw Winchester get two chances at the goal...a weak shot and a header straight to the keeper, but nothing else from our team.  It didn't appear that our defenders were marking properly either.  The Hondurans looked fitter and faster to the ball and were given too much space to play.

I feeling so shame....I knew this man for years working in the same company.  For us it was just about shit talk and interdept football where he was considered as a bruiser.  He only used to say "Waters boy, they wasn't able with me when I was in mih days inno"  ;D

I never knew these articles existed or what he went through in his playing days.   The man never say he was top scorer in the league, nor that he went for trials overseas.

Cricket Anyone / Ramnarine Resigns

Trinidad Express Newspaper National News of Trinidad and Tobago

RAMNARINE RESIGNS

Originally printed at http://www.trinidadexpress.com/sports/RAMNARINE_RESIGNS-144314765.html
March 26, 2012

Dinanath Ramnarine, president and chief executive officer of the West Indies Players Association (WIPA), has resigned, citing the need to refresh and reinvigorate the organisation with new leadership.

A WIPA statement yesterday noted that the WIPA board of directors had announced the resignation and that it came "as no surprise, since the long-serving and deeply-committed Ramnarine has always advocated and sought to refresh and reinvigorate the organisation with new leadership".

Ramnarine assumed the position of WIPA president in 2002 at the same time that Wavell Hinds was appointed as treasurer.

WIPA secretary Andrew Richardson said the Trinidad and Tobago national had indicated last year that 2012 would be his last year with the organisation.

"He has now completed a perfect decade. We wish to recognise that he has served meritoriously over those ten years", he added.

Ramnarine's resignation takes effect March 31 and Hinds, who has served on the WIPA executive for the same period as Ramnarine, will assume the presidency of the Players Association until the annual general meeting later this year.

Hinds, elected the same day as Ramnarine, said: "It is truly a depressing day for West Indian cricket to see Mr Ramnarine depart.

"We were well advised that this day will come but hoped it would never materialise. We are all saddened by his decision, given his outstanding contribution and great personal sacrifice to WIPA," said Hinds.

"In the face of all adversity, his credibility and integrity, combined with his strong leadership qualities, remain some of his strongest and greatest attributes, taking WIPA to great heights," Hinds added.

The WIPA statement said that, from the start, "Dinas", as he is known, worked assiduously throughout the region to reframe players worth and the value of individuals to the game.

"He successfully negotiated increased sponsorship payments for the 2003 World Cup and secured compensation for players who were injured during the period of 1999-2003.

"Ramnarine's vision and leadership at WIPA has progressively advanced the cause of players and the rules of the off-field game by leaps and bounds.

"His tenure has been defined by ground-breaking negotiations aimed at bringing West Indies cricket into the 21st century. He was the first to push the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) to enter into a formal collective bargaining agreement for the players, and negotiated the single largest West Indian cricketer pay increase in history," the statement added.

"In the face of some barriers, Ramnarine has fought with determination to elevate the game and to increase transparency in the management of players and resources."

Michael Hall will act as the interim CEO and Ramnarine has agreed to act in an advisory capacity to assist with the transition as is required.

The other members of the WIPA board are Ramnaresh Sarwan, Andrew Richardson, Samuel Badree, Dave Kissoon and Derik Lattibeaudiere.

So what wrong with Warner doing that if Groden can't say what happen to it after? It was cash. Jack will just say he had a meeting to go to and left it in his drawer for safe keeping. After his meeting, the money went where it was supposed to go.

This not helping build a case against Jack and Groden know that. He just say something without really saying anything.

A German journalist has  to travel from Europe to ask questions on which we are also waiting answers! What is the status of the lawsuit TTFF is supposed to file against Warner so that the information on accounts can be assessed by the Court? It was supposed to happen since February 11th I think! Can Sean Fuentes tell us?

I don't think Fuentes is 'allowed' to answer those questions nah.  He only 'allowed' to talk about the U23 team right now.  In a little while he would be allowed to talk about the Womens' team to, but that is all.  If yuh push him hard enough he would simply say to ask Mr. Warner or the TTFF president.

Warner replied: “I just tell you son and I don’t want to insult you because of your country. I’m not answering those questions and this is not the purpose of this meeting, alright! Don’t let me embarrass you please nah.”

The poor fella must be new to the business...obviously he didn't do his homework on Warner before flying to Trinidad specifically to get answers for them questions.

As a youthman, I played football with some of these guys in their twilight years...and at the time I thinking them fellas real good boy.

I knew Keith Douglas more by his muslim name SALIM.  A gem of a fellow.  I was fortunate to play inter-dept football with him in his latter days...a real roughhouse defender at that time even though he had to have been in his fifties at that time.  Point Fortin lost a good son.

Stern John got his chance at Birmingham.  He actually was their top scorer in their first ever season in the Premier League.  More was expected of him.

Brent Rahim never played in the Prem, he was on loan @ West Ham for six months but couldnt break into the side even though the Manager (Glen Roeder) said he was doing well in training.  He said he didnt want to put him in since he didnt want to experiment with a player with the side so close to relegation.

Scotty scored one goal in the prem against Fulham (just to correct you Sam), and although he linked up well during build ups, his job was to score goals and no one who scores one Prem goal in a season as a striker can be proud.  He try all kinda ting (shave off hair etc).

Carlos did well @ Sunderland, and was their starting RW for almost the entire season..........he ran and ran and ran.  Injury and the he emergence of Henderson (young "promising" English player) was his downfall, and he lost his starting place.  To his credit, he went on loan @ Wolves and performed well enough to be recalled to the squad, but Steve Bruce had a preference to Henderson and only considered Carlos as a back up for the RB/RW position.

Jonsey still doing his thing, the jury still out.

So overall, i have to chose Scotland, he was brought in to score goals, and one goal in 30 Prem games cannot cut it.........

Fixin T&T had some very strong condemnation of the video footage.  Is it illegal or immoral ?
All the time I thinking some body on the scene video tape the thing and sent it for Ian Alleyne...then I see he showing he ugly face on the video oui.  I wonder how police AND fire officers could just go about they business so nonchalantly whilst he and his video man moving around the scene so freely.  Isn't he obstructing any forensic investigation to determine the cause of the accident?

Ah doh know if I mentioned to allyuh already that the car belonging to a son of one of my co-workers was stolen some time last year.  A neighbour inadvertently caught the act on his home security camera system.  He called Ian Alleyne with the information and the tape.  Ian Alleyne track down the wrecker that 'stole' the car and recovered the vehicle.  He called the youthman and tell him he find the car.  The youthman gone to pick up the car, but Alleyne telling him he cant get the car unless he pass $20,000.00 first.  The youthman say he broken after jes buying the car.  Alleyne send him away, but kept calling every week to find out if he have the money yet.  When he couldn't take it no more, he finally tell the youth if he dont come up with the money by the end of the week, he will never get back the car.  Now my breds have to scrape up a 20K to give the son to get back the car.  They carry the cheque for Alleyne...he tell them "nah nah nah...scratch off my name...make out the cheque to Crime Watch !"

Yuh think that fella easy ?

waay sah..dais Jack Warner half brother or wha?

de man profiteering on both ends

Maybe I just a little slow. Couldn't the owner of the car just  report Alleyne to the police or his employers?

VB

I asked the same question too, but it have some people who just believe in Ian Alleyne and doh trust the police.  Alleyne have a lot of police in he pocket too i guess.

General Discussion / Re: Rowley Vote Of No Confidence
« on: March 06, 2012, 09:39:51 AM »
Like all the PP PR getting to more people than I expected.  That American fella who Warner hired to help with the PP election campaign coached them good.  Lessons learnt were to look for the enemy's weak-spots and exploit them...let everyone know about them time and time again.  Even well into your rule...keep letting the public know your enemy's weak-spots....highlight them with every chance you get.

The PR was/is so good that everybody just forget about the corruption and nonsense that passing for governance in this country.  They keep allowing that to slide...and what they do instead...blame it on the Opposition...more so it's leader.

I don't even want to ask the questions...if not Rowley, who in the PNM today could be more effective ?

My thing today is that as citizens WE ALL have to find some way to display our displeasure at how the govt running the country.  WE the electorate voted a govt in place...by a vast majority too, but when the shit hit the fan, WE blaming the Opposition Leader for the how the govt conducting business.

The Opposition try a strategy in a vote on no-confidence...one of the few weapons in their arsenal and yuh hearing about the timing, bombshells, in-fighting, is a lost cause anyway etc.  Non of the questions were given satisfactory responses except for more propaganda and malaising about what the former administration did in their term...still no account for what the present administration doing.

In the meantime...we sit back and accept that a govt minister could totally disregard the court of law in T&T with no objection from the PM.  Another govt minister (btw who was acting PM at one time) could use the tax-payers' credit card as her own personal bank...and other cases of missteps and maladministration and pass it off that the Opposition Leader too weak.  Keep focusing on the opposition leader...and that will bring us good governance. We really in a sad state.

A motion of no confidence was tabled in Parliament by the opposition leader Keith Rowley against the PM,the PM of whom this motion was filed against in turn make amends too the same  motion that was filed against her, in the same Parliament it was amended and that is what the debate was about .

When this amendment was passed i am sure Rowley knew ,I am sure he read it, maybe he did not understand the wording of this amendment.

What happen to  the  lawyers in the PNM party did not understand what the amendment was going to do  to this debate.

Explain please...

Correct if I'm wrong, but won't the competition still be going on when the WI vs Aus series going on?

I think I read that the competition suppose to run until April, and the Aussies should be here in couple weeks.  WICB said that they wanted the series to run in tandem with the tournament so that if they need to call up any replacements, then the guys would already be match fit and sharp.  I don't think that is a good enough reason, but hey...

The next thing is they say that QP Oval people does charge too much for the Oval and it not feasible.  You have to consider too that TT money is almost the lowest in the Caribbean, so increasing the cost of tickets to meet that of the targeted revenue, could very well mean that the crowds would eventually dwindle...especially since WI ent win a friggin test in a long long time.

Lasana say he site is leading site for football.....  :rotfl: :rotfl:

He writes mostly about de federation/Jack Warner (which I real happy to see him exposing de crook) and a few small reports about de Under 23 team and saying he site is de biggest and best in local football. Pure assness if you ask me. Maybe he is de best writer in T&T.

No one could surpass the SWO when it comes to T&T football, SWO covers everything including nice vids, photos and a forum that is pure wothlessness does be going on here....  ;D

And Lasana should be more than grateful because I notice how the SWO does carry his stories a certain way where visitors get directed to his website but yet he have nothing linking back to SWO.

Flex allyuh good we !!!!!

This man getting millions of hits and alot of SWO visitors and all he could say is keep up the good work, not a mention of how the SWO helps him, or Flex or Tallman !!!..

All them links will be dead soon if de site goes down and then them stories will be worthless.

I am a SWO till I die !!!!!!

Flex, you come a long way and now the SWO (your website) is internationally know, dont let nobody come and ride on yuh back for them benefit.

Everybody touts their service as "the best" etc.... that is nothing more than 'puffery', or what we would call 'gun talk'.  No need to read more into it than there really is.

As for feedback, Lasana needs to be more objective in his reporting, particularly where it comes to Jack Warner.  He needs to be doubly sure that he has his facts in order, because he hasn't always done that, and he needs to decide whether he's writing as a columnist (with a particular bias and opinion) or whether he's writing as a journalist, simply and objectively reporting the facts.  He cannot continue to keep 'editorializing' his articles and expect people to take him seriously.  All that said, he continues to be a credit to the local profession, and continues to do a great service to local football... and its fans, in particular.

I agree with a lot of what you're saying here Bakes...although I think Lisana's approach (my opinion now) just fitting a needed niche right now.  I have seen some brilliant articles from Lisana when he was at the Express, both as a journalist and as a columnist.  But the way I see it now...it is what is needed to expose Jack for what he is.  You are right when you say journalist who 'editorialize' their own articles are never taken seriously.  I just glad it have at least this one local journalist who have the courage to expose Warner and face him head on.  The rest of them will continue to sing for their supper.
