Just look how he planned for Italy from game 1 to game 2, took away the brilliance of Pirlo and introduced a more penetrative quicker style of play in the final. One that caught not only Italy, but most of the pundits by surprise. Observer.

........................................................................

Crapaud smoke Italy Pipe when dey did not come back with the 3-5-2 dat gave Spain problems in their prior meeting. It was not a brilliant move by Del Bosque that did anything but rather an Italian mistake. Dat 4-1-3-2 formation work against Germany but not against a team that pressures so high up the field. Spain's line of confrontation is a little higher than most teams. Pirlo could not do the same things he did in the 1-1 draw.

More assness. Leave Theodor Gebre Selassie alone. Also, I cyah believe dat man leave dey house to go and watch de Dutch Practice to heckle and verbally abuse black players. Ent dem Poles say dey so holy and proud dey produce ah Pope etc. Dem and de Russians really deserve each other. How easily dey forget what Hitler did to both countries. May be their education does cover up de dark side of dey history. Clearly de youths over there are found wanting on an intellectual level after such an ignoble past.

Great accomplishment man. De man have to make a living in trute but I also understand where de Nationalists and dem coming from. De longer he stay there, de less games he will get in for T&T. Michael Vaughan, BBC Test Match Special

"In the 80s when Viv's team used to hammer England, West Indies had better players than England, now England have better players than West Indies, who only seem to have five players. The top four's techniques don't look quite ready for Test cricket. I don't think England have got out of third gear, I don't think they have been stretched that much. I always think at the end of a Test match how many West Indies players would get into the England side? I'd say probably none."

Dis man is ah arse. Chanderpaul, Bravo, Samuels, Edwards and Roach could make dat team.

The Turbinator is not a big turner of the ball but he is a handful in the rough. Containing the batsmen and beating them on a frequent basis is two different thing. Bowling in de rough causes problems with high and low bounce, not turn. Of course having de rough on a turning wicket is double the hazard. The spinner with the most variety in the world is Ajantha Mendis and he is not a big turner of the ball. Batsmen jes very, very uncomfortable facing him.  He comes up with new deliveries that have never been seen before and he beats batsmen very often. Sometimes de ball playing de bat to tell yuh de truth. He has injury issues though. A good spinner beats the bat which includes a lot of defections, bat pad etc. not jes containment. A few bat pad deflections is not exactly a sign that a batsman is playing spin with confidence.  I rather face a fast bowler first ball up than a spinner on song with men round de bat. In Narine case, dey cyah figure him out.  Sunil Narine's has some variations that occur at the back of the wrist in view of a camera to his back but unfortunately for the batsmen dey cyah see de back of he hand and this makes him hard to read. He is a true mystery spinner. Let's jes hope for the best. He was our best West Indian domestic bowler stat wise before he went to the IPL and he may still be the top wicket taker. Another thing is de IPL doh jes auction for anybody. Dey see something in de man. Is de Indian batsman self dat was encouraging de League to take a chance on Sunil and they did. I jes doh want de WICB to waste him down. I want him to go and play in Sri Lanka because that is where all these new spinning deliveries are coming from now.

Michael Hussey aptly described Narine’s absence from the West Indies’ squad when he said, “Personally I was pretty happy that he's gone over to the IPL. I, and all the guys, found him a huge challenge in the one-day series. It did take me a good two or three games to get used to his action, his deliveries and what he was trying to do with the ball. I think it's a bit of a win for our team that he's not here."

Ah go take Hussey word before yours especially since yuh say he seems very good...

If de WICB doh mess up, dis boy have a real chance at doing something special. He better than Harold Joseph, Dinas, Dhanraj, Nanan and anybody else T&T has offered up in de last 30 years. De fact is he go be even more dangerous bowling in de rough on Day 4 and 5 of a Test instead of on dem fresh T20 and One Day Pitches.

83% possession and they lose to Chelsea. 72% possession and they lose to Real. David Villa had 12 goals in 26 games before he went down with injury. They keep relying on Messi to score all the time and now he is human for this week. They need another out and out striker. This is a Club dat does pelt way men like Et'o and Ibrahimovich without batting an eye lid.  Ah hope dey come down to earth now. At de same time, dat kinda dull football dat Real, Chelsea & AC Milan put down by playing so deep and stacking up defensively and being physical is de same damn thing dem Europeans does complain about when dey playing against lesser known countries in de World Cup. Is actually funny to see some of the best soccer brains in Europe using the same tactics and not putting their usual stamp on de game as they normally do offensively for fear of making mistakes and being punished by Barca. Jes an observation. Real smelling de Trophy now but dem Germans eh going down so easy. Dey going an play dull football too so dat dey could play at home in de Final. Dis game go be good too.

Football / Re: Corneal backs U-17s for W/Cup qualifiers.
« on: April 12, 2012, 12:53:13 AM »
How is it that other teams play faster. Why do we have to play this slow , long ball football.
It is time we wake up and smell the coffee.

.............................................................

Adding to dat list of what we are infamous for: poor fitness, late at picking up our marks (too much ball watching), slow at recovery runs, poor at trapping and winning goal kicks or punts...nearly every punt or goal kick ends up with de opposition in a short space of time, crossing not great, communication = 50% Buff, corners and free kicks against us seems like de world going and end, midfield possession and service poor, switching de ball to the other side is frequently an air ball cause we eh good enough to get it there on de ground.

Slow? We eh slow athletically at all. We could beat all of dem in a race. Everybody done know dat. Slow at reading de game...yes. Slow at being in de right grass...yes. Holding on to de ball too long...yes...dis is where these slower players athletically from Central America does buss we arse. Dem men does jes move de ball quickly around de field with skill. The fastest way to move is to pass but it doh always have to be forward like is a blasted 100m race. We lack the ability to hold possession, probe for and penetrate weaknesses in the other team's shape.

Where we slow is at de grass roots level right up. Doh talk bout de Pro League. Cyah say dat Whim was too far off in his estimation.

Corneal could back de U-17 gyuls all he want but is licks in dey bamsee....real bad...bull pistle style.

De man have de knuckle ball boy. I so glad he playing in India. Between dem Indians and Sri Lankans he playing with and against, he going and learn even more deliveries to confuse people. That's a scary thought. It's been a very long time since ah West Indian Spinner had men groping in de dark like dat.

88
Dey need to play with de urgency that dey showed in de last 20 minutes...not jes fuh dis game or de next game but all games in de red, white & black. Hard to believe some of these fellas actually trying to build on their previous Youth WC Experience.  We cyah jes throw dem away. Dey need to be playing teams that we played against in dis tournament on a regular basis.  Dey also need to avoid our new national meltdown strategy against teams like St. Kitts, Grenada, Bermuda and Guyana. We are at a cross roads now but doh throw way these fellas. Keep working dem hard. Yeah ah res picong on dem but yuh know ah still appreciate dat dey representing all of we and unless we have better talent to showcase, ah have to accept sub standard results, so so coaching and low quality preparations. We eh go improve we football unless we playing all of dem Concacaf Teams and de second tier South Americans from de youths up at least once a year.  So said but not so done because when it come down to brass tax, we eh really serious bout sports in dis twin island republic. Light some candle, bun allyuh frankincense, get down on yuh knees and pray fuh more generations of strike squads and soca warriors. according to capo...de beatings will continue.
