WHO LET THE DROGS OUT?!

Eh, Omar, I eh know if yuh get to see the game but yuh boy, Malouda had a good game today.  Yuh would/should be proud of him!  ;D

nah boy, was biting way meh fingers following on live text.

well, what ah go say.. every dog has its day yes.

dog or drog?

wasn't malouda a big player before he came to chelsea? Is it the rigors of the EPL thats kept him back or just the style thats been used in the Chelsea format dosen't suit him?

his style is slow and casual.  EPL pace has been too much for him in my opinion.  Sell he, Ballack and ferriera in the summer please.

wait nah is Chelsea I see in that article...
Although it would not be a good move for him I would not mind seeing him in Chelsea's colours....
Send Kalou to Sunderland and let them send Kenwyne with some cash....
That being said I know that would not be in the best interest of KJ..

that would be tragic. When last a player improve at chelsea?

Drogba, Joe Cole, Lampard, Terry? i understand that "improvement" is all subjective, but that statement is pure assness!

Apparently Pompey have accepted close to 20 million pounds for Diarra from Real madrid.  Have they lost their mind? I mean, the man decent, but 20 milli? The Pompey board must be extatic, after paying 5 mill for him a little over a year ago!

which owner does not invest their own money in their business to see it succeed?
Abramovich has done that plain and simple.

Actually, owners invest in their business to make a profit.
Anything else is a sugar daddy, plain and simple.

you make a profit over time.
There's an initial period called the payback period, during which time the capital layout is recouped.
Given that Abramovich only purchase Chelsea 5 years ago, the club is well on course to be financially sound.

Before you start the "payback period" you need to make a net profit for that year (income - expenses) ... otherwise you operate at a loss, and keep increasing the money owed.

arsenal should give up football and open an accounting firm.

If Chelsea is a "Wanna be Club" because they have a debt of 736M pound debt, then who the hell is Manchester United with their 764M pound debt?  :-\

Their "Wanna Be owners" are by no means in the same ballpark as Abramovich when it comes to resources.

Financial Mismanagement just permeates that club. From their shirt sponsors (AIG/ US Government :rotfl:) all the way to their over-leveraged takeover of the club. They are more in the ballpark of the Liverpool's quagmire with American Sports owners who will bail at the first sign of distress.

Now they are about to attempt to restructure C. Ronaldo's wages to make him the biggest earner in the EPL. Go ahead and wave $$ infront of him. What happens when he blanks them because he tripped on his ego doing a crossover?

Whatever ManU can do, Real Madrid can do better.  :-*

doe worry with them some people just born to be "observers", and probably shouldn't open dey mouth  ;)

Football / Tottenham Sack Ramos and appoint Redknapp
« on: October 25, 2008, 06:28:04 PM »
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/7691457.stm

Tottenham Hotspur have sacked coach Juande Ramos and sporting director Damien Comolli and are set to appoint Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp.

Spurs have agreed a compensation package of £5m with Portsmouth, according to the 61-year-old Redknapp.

Tottenham also axed first team coaches Gus Poyet and Marcos Alvarez following their worst ever start to a season.

"It's a big opportunity for me to manage a big club before I retire," said Redknapp.

Spurs are four points adrift at the bottom of the Premier League after taking just two points from eight matches this season. They also lost to Udinese in the Uefa Cup on Thursday.

Redknapp revealed Spurs contacted Portsmouth on Friday morning, and after discussions between Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy and Pompey chief executive Peter Storrie, it was agreed he could talk to the London club.

"I love Portsmouth and I loved my time there, we had some fantastic success and I'd never been happier," said Redknapp.

"But it's a great deal for Portsmouth, £5m for me, and it's a chance for me to get on and see what I can do.

"Once Tottenham came in and once the offer was made it was difficult for the club to turn down a £5m offer for a manager.

"The club were pleased to take it and hopefully people will remember what I've done there."

Redknapp expects the official announcement to come from White Hart Lane on Sunday morning.

"It will all be sorted out and by tomorrow morning I should be in place," he said.

Clive Allen, development squad coach, and Alex Inglethorpe, youth team manager will take charge of Sunday's game against Bolton, while Redknapp expects to be at White Hart Lane to address the players before the match.

"I know as much about Tottenham as anyone," said Redknapp. "I've followed the club for years and years.

"They've been on an horrendous run of games and we've got to get cracking and turn it around as quick as we can.

"We need a little bit more strength and aggression about the team if we're going to survive."

In January, Redknapp held talks with Newcastle to succeed Sam Allardyce as manager but eventually rejected the offer.

Redknapp spent most of his playing career with West Ham and Bournemouth and went on to manage both clubs before taking charge of Portsmouth in 2002, guiding the club into the Premier League within 14 months as First Division champions.

He left Fratton Park for Pompey's bitter south coast rivals Southampton in 2004 but returned in December 2005.

Then, after dramatically saving Pompey from the drop with an unbelievable final 10-game run, Redknapp steered them to a best-ever Premier League finish of ninth in 2006/07.

They bettered that by a place in 2007/08, and won the FA Cup against Cardiff, qualifying for their first journey into Uefa Cup football.

The 54-year-old Ramos joined Spurs from Sevilla on 27 October 2007 after Dutchman Martin Jol was sacked.

The Spaniard enjoyed back-to-back Uefa Cup triumphs with Sevilla and guided Tottenham to February's League Cup final where they beat Chelsea 2-1 for the club's first trophy since 1999.

However, several first-choice players left in the summer, notably Bulgaria striker Dimitar Berbatov to Manchester United and Robbie Keane to Liverpool.

England striker Jermain Defoe was also sold last January to Redknapp's Portsmouth.

Tottenham splashed out about £60m on the likes of Croatia midfielder Luka Modric, England winger David Bentley, Russia striker Roman Pavlyuchenko and Brazilian goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes.

We just can't help we self.  But, at the same time......catch us if you can!   :rotfl:  :rotfl:

Do worry enjoy all yuh self. Seriously tho all yuh need to get some real wing men and drop dat 4 midfielders all yuh does try tuh cram in game after game. You have to admit when you guys had Duff and Robben there was less sh1te on the stick football.  It should be Deco and Essien. Ballack and definitely Lampard on the bench.

Scary thing for the rest of the league.... Even when the vibrant Chelsea of last week don't show up, this side is still the very best at grinding out a 1-0, with a lock-tight defence.... This title chase could be over by christmas...

Three years without silverware, how is it noone is asking for a new coach.

A typical 'nouveau riche' fan comment.

"We not winnin' trophies! Ah want a new coach! Ah go support someone else!"

Ferguson went four years without winning a major trophy at United when he took the job in '86. The board was patient and stood by him by letting him build a side for the future even when fans (like myself, a United fan since '84) were calling for his head. 1990 saw us win the FA Cup, then the European Cup Winners Cup the following year, then the League Cup the year after that, then the League in '93 and so on...we have never looked back.

United have reaped the benefits of being patient.

Wenger still has a young side and is trying to build a team for the next generation. Everyone wanted Sir sacked in the summer of '95 when he sold Hughes, Ince and Kanchelskis and buying noone to replace him. Instead, he promoted a lot of youngsters to the first team and they won the league and cup double. Wenger has won a lot for Arsenal. Three titles, a couple of FA Cups and two European finals. Thats not bad, considering that Arsenal hadn't won the league since 1991 before Wenger took over in the winter of '96. He inherited an ageing side and had to practically build a new midfield from scratch.

Arsenals problem is that they still try and walk the ball into the net, which was evident yesterday, they lack a ho,ding midfielder and currently have a lot of injuries.

After only one defeat, the usual suspects are calling for the managers head. You can tell who the part-time fans are on here. I expect Arsenal to in amongst United and Chelsea by Xmas. Chelsea will drop points before then and so will we (and already have done).

Quote
The funds have always been there but unfortunately so has Arsene9's ego.

You're wrong.

Arsenal are heavily in debt because they are still paying for the new stadium construction. Transfer funds are minimal.

Great points.... but the sport has drastically changed since 1990...  when Sir Alex built that team, players actually had allegiance to club... Arsenal's biggest problem is that these young players they groom are asking to leave after a couple years with the club....  no stability... players, just like fans nowadays want to win NOW!

nah man.. he is 30 years old and they already come out and say they don't want him dey next year... so they basically had to take what they get... a couple weeks ago he had come out and tell them that he was too old to sell for 15 mill... the power was his the whole time...
