South American teams are very fast to the ball and on the ball. Egypt and Italy did not pressure the ball as much as Para did. Men was running hard today to get back in position when we lost the ball and didn't have time to regroup when in possession. That is why they look so bad. We will always look better against teams that don't play at that speed.

Same for the snr's. That is y we always look like we have a chance against the US but still end up losing.

Palos,

Forget history and tradition and how much million in population...is a best 22 on the squad and a best 11 on the field.

Yes some nations have more to choose from but when game start forget all them population stats.

I was expecting that we could win or draw 1 game...and that was against Egypt.

Also for the opening 10 min and the last 5 minutes of the first half and after the 60th when we concede the third goal we did enough to come away with at least a point.

Our team is capable of better and we did not do enough.

Also...if you look at the prep the last under 20 side had...they collect 6.

This squad get the sun, moon and stars and collect 4

Was the former squad more talented or better (maybe, but this is debatable)

It was a waste of money then... cause the amount of camp and prep and money spent for them to pop down so.

The under 20 performance = local based senior team game vs st. kitts with no warm up and training.

I couldnt understand how men who together so long since under 17 cyar show nuttin...especially since egypt wasnt showing nuttin. They were scared and on the back foot...we just ent take advantage.

But say wha...men was up in arms bout men who get send home and how Thompson taking somebody spot who dey etc.....Now we see why he was called and why he make the squad.

Listen yuh have to excuse meh....my head knows we are a shit side, my mind knows we ent more talented than any of our neighbours, I know we ent ready, we dont have the mental capacity, we dont have the belley or the fight...but meh heart cyar accept that, all it takes is one lil umph, a lil badmind and a lil discipline or fitness and we could shock people.

Forgive meh nah.

Yuh head wrong, yuh mind wrong, yuh mental capacity lacking but yuh heart in the right place. I watch Fuentes training video and pick up pieces here and there and realize we in trouble.  In the training video, just like the senior team, men in shooting practice and the keeper not even getting tested. Men miss and casually they go back and wait their turn to miss again. If yuh practice half a$$ed yuh will play half a$$ed. We loosing close game whole tour and is the same mistakes over and over. I believe we have the natural talent. I doh believe the talent has been refined. 20yr old men is big men. They need to have their shortcomings pointed out and they need to work on it. The coaches have to be at a level and set a level of professionalism that is high.   If yuh miss the whole team doing shooting drill whole day till yuh score at least three in a row.  Training need to be serious too. If yuh can't hold the line in the offside trap the whole team staying on the pitch till it get sorted out and we taping the scrimmages and blowing up yuh spot in video sessions.

The problem is the coaches and administration. Beenie set a standard in a short space of time.  Latas, York, Stern etc. was there they need to start passing that onto all levels. These fellas need to tell men why they made it outside. Tell men they head big and they not ready but this is what they can do to get them to the next level etc.

2014 with the same administration and coaches is a pipe dream.

Ah wonder why...? Ill tell you why because Beenie has very good organisational skills and structural awareness however he lacks the attacking prowess. Yuh could tie plenty games with him and for some that is good enough.
How much points do you think Beenie would have gotten if he were coaching in this Hex? How many points did we drop because we don't have organization skills and structural awareness?

« on: September 09, 2009, 10:52:11 PM »
kj as usual, he no good, mess
spann, wayy boy, tata
carlos fight but nothing decisive, dansing around but no telling crosses, he needs to study beckham on them crosses.
tinto, composure brethren, this is not intercol football, play it simple
scotty look heavy boy, touches all over the place
cornell i were missing for most of the game, should have scored that lob.

tnt football just missing something, we brand of football just does not look like world class brand, back to the drawing boards.

I pleased with this performance because of what we were playing b4. But overall as you say something missing. No magic in the final third. No laying off for men to take shots. Corners and crosses were ballooning all over the place. I not as impressed with this performance as other pep. It was way improved but still sub par in my mind.

I give the team a lot of credit but the USA played with a lack of intensity and did not pressure the midfield and backline for large parts of the game. Men had real time to pick passes and wasn't under pressure. I don't think our play was as great as people saying. I do however note less bubbling of the ball. The team as a whole first touch was much improved. Passing and organization on the pitch was way better. Men was actually running in spaces off the ball. Team selection was much improved. The team looked competent on the pitch tonight.   If we look this competent against the faster Spanish teams then I would say Latas did a lot with the little time he had. We were in the game and could have won if we had taken our chances. I still find Glenn need to look for passing options sometimes. Jones fight wasn't there he stop running in the second half.  If we were 3 down I could understand but we were in the game. Excluding the performances under Maturana I think this performance  against the US was par for the course. We always  feel like we had a chance and then the US takes the 3 points. Friendlies would have made a world of difference.

US playing with no intensity. If we could get that long ball measured right we have the speed to beat the back 4.

That video was a waste of time. The whole TTFF setup amateur. Plus that sweat look too laid back and man was giving way the ball dotish. If this is how both teams preparing at this late stage. pressure.

.... Ah guess we don't want the best players on the field at all times.. just the ones that show dedication..give  me ah break...it should not be on personal preference but that the best team should be on the field for every game period!!!

The best TEAM is the players that show dedication. If the stars ride pine for men with more dedication and grit then the stars might get a clue and raise they intensity. I prefer see the team play hard and lose because they just not up to scratch than to see them lose because they pulling stones.

We might be better off fielding this team in the hex. They getting real prep while the senior team have a set of men who not match fit in "training".

Since Gay, Hyland and whoever else in Europe why didn't they go there. They could have played some club sides. Given players exposure to scouts and had the opp to train the full pool. I not saying that the UAE Korea, Nigeria matches not helpful but if we want to progress then we have to get the youths foreign contracts. Maximizing money spent in my mind would have been touring Europe.
