Football / Re: Scotland is worth his weight
« on: September 23, 2011, 09:09:32 PM »
If I was T&T coach, Scotland will always be in my plans.

But he will never be my top choice forward.

Scotland is a proven English Division 1 and CFU international scorer.

At the Premier League and wider CONCACAF, he has not lived up to expectation.

He will never start in front men like Stern, Kenwyne and Cornel. And it seem like the new coach like Roberts.

Thats the pecking order right dey, I am very sure Scotland himself knows this.

I really trying not to start up Jones vs Scotland again eh, but PLEASE tell what has Jones done that is so better than Scotland at the INTERNATIONAL level? The stats don't lie. KJ has had much more opportunities that Scotland he still eh scoring no goals.

I hope none of you all into business. Cause I can see you all having a nice looking business eh making no money, but saying it looking nice.

Scotland made 41 appearances and scored 8 goals ( would like to compare minutes played)

Jones made 47 appearances and scored 5 goals ( would like to see minutes played, cause I POSITIVE he has far more minutes than Scotland)

Dennis Lawrence (defender) made 89 appearnces and scored 5 goals.

Give me a freaking break.

I really don't know when we stopped using KJ as a defender and moved him up front but I don't recall Beenie ever playing him behind.

Since Beenie was coach to now, KJ made 33 appearances whereas Scotland made 24.

KJ had 18 starts, (of which 9 full games) and 15 sub appearances.
At least one of those sub appearances came in the first half of a game but he was also substituted 11 minutes into the England game due to injury.

He's scored against Bermuda twice, Cuba, Panama and Peru

Scotland had 14 starts (of which 4 full games) and 9 substitute appearances (at least two were in the last 10 minutes of the game).
He's scored against the Dominican Republic (4 times), Finland, Martinique, Grenada and South Korea, but only his hatrick against the Dominican Republic in the 9-0 romp have come since Beenie.

Overall according to my claculations since the 25th May 2005 = Beenie's first game/KJ's first goal,
KJ has played roughly 1800 minutes for T&T and Scotty played 900.

Last campaign KJ played 11 matches, starting 9, of which 7 full games. Ironically his only goal came in a match in which he was substituted.
Scotland had 4 starts and 3 sub appearances (of which 2 cobo sweat). He played one full game, the opening loss to Bermuda

Cricket Anyone / Missionary Man Video
« on: September 18, 2011, 07:28:58 PM »
Don't usually post on this board cause i fell off the cricket wagon a long time ago, but I remember in the mid 90's during a tour - I think it was Australia against the Windies, whoever was covering the sport at the time played a great hype video with a song that i now know to be "Missionary Man" by Eurythmics.

anyone else remember that, and more importantly, have any cllue where i could find it? no luck on youtube...

3 goal, a post, a crossbar, a missed penalty and man still quarelling bout refereeing

majoring in minors

That's all that you see?

from you yeah...

winning big when you not necessarily better is called schooling (as opposed to bossing). Chelsea got schooled in the first half. with a bit of luck they coulda equalise in the second but with a bit of luck Man U coulda score six. The refereeing is the least of you problems

Horrendous refereeing in this game!!

say what you want about the call. Chelsea were horribly naive on the attack before.

secondly, tackling from behind in the box is almost a guaranteed way to give up a penalty. Nani didn't even try to sell it.
Bosingwa lucky he didn't get send off.

A couple differences,

Ashley Young is null and void, He is in Bosingwa's back pocket.

Nani cannot get past Ashley Cole.

Chelsea is getting in behind Man United.

Chelsea cannot finish.

Ramires and Torres are absolutely in need of bush bath.
Man United has not gotten in behind Chelsea, Brilliant final 3rd defending

Man Utd cannot get a cross in, again brilliant.

Finally Chelsea cannot get a set piece anywhere close to the box, yet Man Utd somehow has managed to secure a couple.  ???

Alyuh men sounding like the Iraqi Defense minister when the US was invading in 2003...

Where did Prescott call for Pfister's head?
Where did i say he did?? i mention vidal and the other old fellas who was katchin feelins on tuesday.

I never said you were overbearing and i don't know why you think I targeting you for anything, personally. You call my name in a post and get vex when yuh get hit for six a while back, who fault is that?.

You obviously a passionate fella when it comes to T&T football and it ends there.  Is just I does call people out when they talking bs. Is not my fault yuh been spouting a lot recently...

Here's a suggestion: stop toting feelings. you a "hard stones man" (your words) This ent about you, me or where either one of us come from...or going for that matter
Personally, i was gonna let you have the last say , bc after all is said and done i doh get squat from proving ah point to no one, especially on line, but then ah change meh mind bc yuhs the kindah fella whom i just have tuh put in dey place or else you will never stop comin @ me from left field wid yuh nitpickin bullsh!t!

first off mr grammar, i never said presscott called for Pfister's head, even though i put "HIM" amongst the group of old fellas that did, but ah guess you would never let that go since yuh want tuh show me up soooo bad, or as yuh say, "hit me for "six" again"  ::) but go head guy, knock yuh self out.

secondly, what's all this talk about hitting me for six,  :rotfl: :rotfl: fella you real jokey yes, i have tuh laugh..... you so full of yuhself it eh funny........hit me for six :rotfl: :rotfl:.

3rd, stop totin feelins? well all this time i thought you were just some lil self rightous pr!ck wid an axe tuh grind, but i didn't know you took the forum home with you.

dude when i turn off this PC i does be in another world, the only reason i come on here is tuh follow football. now and then i would post on the GD or the T&F forum, but that's it, i don't have any friends on here nor do i form ties and call ppl or hang out with them outside the forum.

i have my inner circle of family and ah few friends, and i cool wid that. not that i wouldn't collaborate with ppl here on the site if they want tuh do something special for football and or tuh improve the site, but i don't take this thing overly serious tuh tote feelins bc someone has something less than complimentary to say.

i think you should redirect that to yuhself, since i don't remember gettin, as you said "hit for six"  "AH WHILE BACK", not that it never happened, but my point iz, i don't remember!!! and who the fack cares!!!!!  :yawning: talk about totin feelins.  :peace:

you asked, I answered. Have a nice day.

alyuh men really need to stop drinking the TTFF cool aid

Do u guys get the feeling that Prescott fighting down the team? Especially Kenwyne Jones?

I would think that a new team with a new coach playing a new system with a team that hasn't played in more than 10 months with some players who have not played a competitive game in seven months that he might be a little more understanding.

 ???

I agree he's not offering any solutions just critizing unfortunately guys like prescott come a dime a dozen....

look you solution here saga

As Soca Warriors captain, Jones is expected to do more than just dish off the ball, and then stand in the same spot admiring the work of his teammates. He would be expected to give teammate Hayden Tinto and others the option of taking a return pass, if he moved into a space.

I think the article was fairly balanced "irregardless"

[/quote]
Missed chance
By Ian Prescott (T&T Express)

Against Bermuda, Jones scored, but that was it.
To his credit, the Stoke City man tried to do some work there.

Generally though, the Soca Warriors are not aggressive and are so slow, that they allow defences to easily filter back.

They also never pressure the opposition when they do not have the ball.

The defence has held well, and Marvin Phillip seems to be the number one keeper at the moment. Seon Power has had two solid games, but will do well not to lunge against better teams.

Chris Birchall and Clyde Leon both worked hard against Barbados and Daniel was comfortable at central midfield where he unusually put in a few tackles. Carlos Edwards and Anthony Wolfe have managed as wing backs, though both are natural wide midfielders.

Up front, Jones doesn't do enough; Darryl Roberts is always on the move, but does not yet have match sharpness and Stern John, 34 next month, is still capable of scoring goals regardless of criticism about his age.

So far coach Pfister has a 100 per cent record and has worked under difficult conditions with just one warm-up match, and local players who have not played for seven months.

But unless he gets the Soca Warriors playing better soon, they will be no match for Mexico and Costa Rica. FACT

Everybody here criticises the news reports where all the reporter does is recap the scoreboard and the yellow cards. Now you have actual analysis and you griping

Y'all say we being harsh on the team, I say you're all being harsh on him.

A man even say it go affect the sponsors. That remind me of a certain agent who accuse us of stifling a player's opportunity to go abroad because he get pong on the forum ::)
