Football / Re: Birchall versus Langdon Donovan
« on: July 15, 2005, 07:13:46 AM »
Let me ask you all something. Do you all really look at the way US  plays? It is the one country that I can honestly say that plays like a true team. Say what you will, if we adapt our game to just half the output US plays we would be deadly.

My point is Donovan is good no doubt, but just marking him is not going to do any good, what about, PATRICK DEMPSY, BEADSLY who by the way is playing excellent ball in PSV Eindhoven, then you have to deal with Mc Bride, Eddie Johnson.
Comparing him man to man with Birchall is unfair because Donovan is a veteran player and has countless international games under his belt and is as deadly as they come.

All these players can score and the reason they do it so well is because the entire team supports each other in all areas, alway covering, always moving the ball, you rarely ever see them walking around on the field looking like they don't know what they are supposed to do.

We play two ways, either we are very good or we are very bad. The only area we are consistent is falling down in the games that matter. Time and time again when we need that one win, we lose.

I see big things going on and the shake up is necessary. For too long our players have been taking their selection to the team as a forgone conclusion e.g. Dwarika

Let the records show that to earn your selection, you have to work hard and focus on your role as a team player not an individual.

Ince is an enigma at this point, not clear exactly what transpired there, oh well! We have to move on an upwards

I am really looking forward to the Gold Cup, we need this workout to get ready for the US in August

GO WARRIORS!!!!

I have to agree that John could have been a little more forthcoming with his answers. He responded like he was in a court room. Good job none the less. Keep the interviews coming. Gentlemen I would like to see this web site expolde into the main source for all things WARRIORS/TNT FOOTBALL.

Player rewiew, stats, game highlights etcs.

WHAT ARE THE PLANS?

Football / Re: Mexico - T&T video download to your PC
« on: June 15, 2005, 07:08:03 AM »
I work in a video production company and I would advise that the video be converted to an mpeg1 or windows media file.

Downloading will take long no matter what ever connection you have.

Like Euro 2004, they edited the game down to about 20min and encoded it for RealPlayer10.

Tallman and flex you all should invest in some added space to host the media files on your server so we can access and view or download from one source

At times it was nail biting especially the few breaks we had in the second half, we looked very dangerous and caught Sanchez ball watching a few times. Dwight's header would have completely beaten him if it was on target, mind you that ball was just about an inch wide of the goal.

Overall we played a damn good game, had it not been for those easy goals.

MY FELLOW TRINIS AT HOME, FILL THE STADIUM FOR THE NEXT GAMES ESPECIALLY GUATEMALA.
WE HAVE TO HAND THEM BACK THAT 5 THEY GIVE WE.

So if Shaka and Ince playing social...we going down with who we have.

I do believe that Ince is injured, if he has back problems then another injury could end his career. Shaka is currently trying to secure a contract after being let go from Portsmouth and admittedly did not secure a new contract as the season was coming to an end  believing they would keep him another year.

Football / UNFORTUNATE LOSS!
« on: June 08, 2005, 08:15:59 PM »
I am saying it now and I don't know how everyone feels, we did not play a bad game at all, Mexico had to work very hard to crack us. Our keeper let us down sorry to say. WE NEED SHAKA OR INCE.

We got two very simple goals, plus Borgetti was offside when the cross came in. Jack should have however stopped the cross which went through his hands.

I was upset by Jack's poor judgement off the line, evident in the first half when he ran out to the left and could not get to the player in time, leaving us open in the goal.

We also still have to work on transitioning out of the midfield to the forwards, when we did we gave the Mexicans some anxious moments, but we held up the ball a little too long allowing the Mexicans to fall back and cover on  the 18 yard box. We still as well need more options up front, or an attacking midfielder to feed the forwards.

I am upset but I feel we still can see this team through. Heads up and let's keep pressing on!!!!!
Get SHAKA BACK!!!!!
Go Warriors!!

GOOD LUCK WARRIORS!!, YOUR NEW ATTITUDE HAS EARNED EVERYONE'S RESPECT.

CONCACAF have be cautious when we come to town

I see no reason why we cannot beat Mexico or if not draw. I'll tell you all what impressed me was the team training Sunday morning. This is the attitude and discipline that is needed to run with the big dogs.

My hats off to Beenhaker for bringing his experience and making the difference. Our games have been lost on lack of mental attitude and proper preparation more than anything else.

Mexico like the US are not invincible!, but we must score or chances!, midfielfers need to crack those unexpected long shots on their goal to keep them guessing and off balance and we must keep our defense tight.

I will be front and center watching the game tonight on TELEMUNDO

WE CAN DO IT WARRIORS! WE CAN DO IT!

GO TNT GO!!!!!!

What a deserving win that was, we might have thrown away one or two goals but IS WE TIME NOW!!!! Stern GOOD JOB, DWIGHT, EDWARDS TALLMAN LAWRENCE THAT GOAL WAS JUS #@$@#@@ AMAZING

You all showed true character and grit, brought back fond memories of Strike squad and Honduras. Let us continue to build the momentum, Guatemala and Costa Rica loss so we right there in the mix again.

MEXICO NOW we have to hold them to at least a draw or a win. I trust that Beenhaker is well aware of the opposition. I wish I was in Trini now for the party!!! AH PRAYING SINCE SATURDAY MORNING AND WE CAME THROUGH!!!!!
EVERYBODY TAKE A JUMP UP NOW,
IT'S CARNIVAL!!

2929
I am all for it, it's about time.! We don't have to be an all black team. I welcome the change and look forward to his input and experience.

There have always been players in Trini who were excellent and not black that never played for the national team at this level. I hope this signals a change in our thinking and apporach to national team selection so that everyone gets a chance.

Yuh know "the every creed and race thing"

Dwight's best days are over, when he leaves English football it's all downhill from here. He might as well focus on the World cup, it's the last chance he has before fading into football oblivion

Football / Re: Don’t expect miracles - coach Beenhakker.
« on: April 08, 2005, 07:50:30 AM »
Give Leo room, while I think Latas and Nakhid are good players let experience prevail. It's funny that Bertille did not take the same approach, by isolating the players in the areas where we are weak and work them seperately and then reintegrating as a team.

It's a simple strategy. I was at one time a member of my school choir and this is how we did our preparations. Breaking up the choir into tenors, altos, basses and working each part out tediously until we got it down pat and then melding it all together as a group, and always had good results.

We must do everything to change these kind of reports. This is an Associated press article from Fifa World cup web site. I hurt when I read these reports because it is what the world sees!!

Bertille St. Clair’s Trinidad & Tobago were surprise survivors from the semi-final stage of North, Central American and Caribbean Zone qualifying. And currently propping up the final-round standings, they are beginning to look like the ‘easy mark’ of the ‘Hexagonal’.
T&T qualified for the final round from the weakest of the three semi-final groups. With only Mexico to worry about, and two spots up for grabs, all they had to do was get by St. Kitts and Nevis, and St. Vincent/Grenadines who, despite battling bravely, put up precious little resistance.

There are many in the region who wonder how teams like Canada, Honduras and Jamaica can miss out on the final round while T&T survive. But football is football, and the islanders have shown little sign of improving even with their raft of foreign-based players.

Dwight Yorke, Stern John and Shaka Hislop could do nothing to repel the United States in their first final-round qualifier at home. Despite the visitors being under-prepared, the result of a labour dispute that forced an abbreviated training camp, the Caribbean side looked lifeless in a 2-1 loss at home in February.

Next up came a demoralising 5-1 hammering on the road in Guatemala City on 26 March. Though a win away from home was always going to be a tough ask for the side, their haphazard defending seemed to indicate a lack of grit and determination necessary to compete at the top level.

Finally they got a little closer to the mark in their Saturday 30 March draw with Costa Rica. With a level of fighting spirit conspicuously missing from the Guatemala game, they ground out a 0-0 draw with Costa Rica at home to avoid the ignominy of going into the two-month halt in qualifying with zero points from three matches.

Six points off leaders Mexico and one behind closest side Panama, all is not lost for T&T, though the outlook seems a little bleak for a finish in the top four. With Guatemala in such fine form and sides like Mexico, USA and Costa Rica on the prowl, T&T look to be heading for the breadline.

Football / Re: Lace up your boots Latas!
« on: April 01, 2005, 07:05:36 AM »
I have to agree that Latas is still our best midfielder and yes he starts in every Falkirk match and is either scoirng or setting up goals. He is the king at that club. Wether it's second division does not matter, he has more playing time than Yorke and Stern put together

If he wants to come is another story

Football / NO WIN NO LOSS
« on: March 30, 2005, 04:45:09 PM »
Well I followed the fifa web site to keep track of the score and there was none. On any other day I would not have minded, but gentleman let's face it. We are effectively done with this campaign.

Everyone has to lose a game and we have to win all and I am not seeing that happening in our future.
Well it proves no matter how many big names you have on the team does does not ensure a win. Lack of proper preparation kills us everytime

Looks like we made some tactical errors again, but that does not matter we did not get a result DAMMN!!
Well we could change coach now or later, it would not matter. Our players cannot deliver

One point not taking us anywhere but to the savannah

This quote was taken from the fifa World Cup website commenting on Guatemala's game against the US;

"Guatemala, who recently surged into second place after hammering ‘Hexagonal’ doormats Trinidad & Tobago 5-1 at home on Saturday night" .

I am in total agreement of your comment players have to shoulder some responsibility for their poor performance. Trying to get a new coach will work against us and reminds me of the collapse in the 2001 campaign.

We are where we were back then with no light at the end of the tunnel.  :'(

boy they could higher Bora Multinovic and we go lose. We have tried English, German, Brazilian and Trini to no avail, so your guess is as good as mine.
I was looking at the US vs Mexico game and all I could say is we goose cook. The only thing we could hope for is that we could keep the score under 3 in favor of Mexico.

Don't forget we have a return engagement with the US
