Charles’ dismissal followed requests for formal TTFA appointments by Eve’s technical staff
Lasana Liburd Wednesday 6 October 2021 Global Football, National Football, Volley Leave a comment

Former Trinidad and Tobago Men’s National Senior Team assistant coach Hutson ‘Baba’ Charles confirmed that he was still a member of head coach Angus Eve’s technical staff up until 23 September, when the Soca Warriors resumed training at the Diego Martin Sporting Complex.

It means that Eve’s decision to replace the former Strike Squad stand-out player and Defence Force title-winning Pro League coach with a data analyst came after Charles was verbally assured last month that he would retain his job with the Soca Warriors.

So what changed?

Concacaf successfully recovers misappropriated funds to further benefit football development in the region
Published on 24 Aug 2021 / Updated on 24 Aug 2021 at 18:53
Significant US DOJ announcement brings five-year legal process to a close
Recovered funds to be invested in football development activities
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) announced today that it will return to Concacaf and its affected Member Associations $70 million in funds recovered from individuals and entities implicated in the DOJs long-running investigation of corruption in world football. The DOJ also announced that it will return misappropriated funds to two other international football organizations, FIFA and CONMEBOL.

From Concacafs perspective, this announcement concludes a long-term legal effort, prioritized by Concacaf President Victor Montagliani since he assumed office in 2016, to recover football development funds misappropriated by previous Concacaf administrations.

Since 2015, Concacaf actively assisted the DOJ in its efforts to investigate, charge, and convict corrupt officials within Concacaf, FIFA, and other football organizations. Concacaf further assisted the DOJs efforts to identify, recover, and return to Concacaf and its affected Member Associations the funds those individuals misappropriated through their criminal acts. Todays decision by the DOJ to restore the funds in order that they can be invested in the development of football is the culmination of those efforts.

The restored funds announced by the DOJ total $201 million in the aggregate, reflecting not only money misappropriated from Concacaf by its prior leadership, but also money misappropriated from FIFA and CONMEBOL by their prior administrations. These football organizations have agreed that the funds will be managed and distributed through the FIFA Foundation, ensuring that the money will now be used exclusively as it would have been if it had not been stolen: for football development at all levels in the Concacaf region and elsewhere.

This is a hugely important announcement for Concacaf as these funds will now be used for what they were originally intended: for development programs to give children a chance to play the game, for youth competitions and coaching courses to be delivered in our region and for many more football activities, said Concacaf President and FIFA Vice President, Victor Montagliani. I want to thank our Member Associations, who have been fully supportive of this process, further demonstrating their commitment to our One Concacaf approach in everything we do. While todays announcement relates to a complex investigation and process by the US Department of Justice, for Concacaf it is ultimately about delivering on our priority to ensure good governance and to being football first. We are committed to working with the FIFA Foundation to make certain these funds benefit football at all levels in our region and beyond, added Montagliani.

We would like to place on record our thanks to the US Department of Justice for the rigor with which they have pursued these misappropriated funds so that they can be distributed properly to ensure the continued development of the sport, added Concacaf Chief Legal Officer Bill Carvalho.

Concacaf worked with Sidley Austin LLP throughout the five-year process of actively assisting the DOJ in their investigations into misappropriated funds, and the structure of recovering them and ensuring they are distributed to benefit the development of global football.

Established in March 2018, the FIFA Foundation was created as an independent entity with the objectives to help promote positive social change around the world and raise support for the recovery and reconstruction of damaged or destroyed sports infrastructure worldwide.

AEK Athens striker Levi Garcia is interested in many clubs in Europe. If the Spanish club Levante has recently shown interest, it is Watford who is currently holding the rope.

The English have indeed submitted an offer of 5 million euros for the player of AEK Athens to release him from his contract. An offer that could convince the Greek club to sell one of its best players ...

Ascension sponsors ‘Eastern’ football
By Ian Prescott (T&T Express)

IAN PRITCHARD is the new president of the Eastern Counties Football Union, the region governing football in Valencia, Sangre Grande, Toco, Manzanilla, Mayaro and such.

New president Pritchard said among his goals were youth development and the resurgence of ECFU football; forging partnerships and eventually having ECFU football become self-sufficient.

Speaking with moderator Kieron Edwards on the latest edition of the Ascension Football Show, new ECFU president Pritchard announced a partnership with Richard Ferguson’s Ascension Football. Ferguson is a former Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) presidential candidate and boss of professional club La Horquetta Rangers.

Pritchard says Ferguson’s organisation has seen the vision of the Eastern Counties, bought into the plans for Eastern Counties football, and has decided to support the resurgence of the game in the region by partnering with the Eastern Counties in the first few years of their competition.

This Ferguson is buying votes for next election a next  A NEXT DICTATOR I BET YUH

Aberdeen FC confirms it has secured the long-term future of highly rated defender, Kieran Ngwenya, in a deal that will see him remain at Pittodrie until 2024.

The 18-year-old from Edinburgh made his Aberdeen debut in a league win over Ross County in December 2020 and has since made one more appearance for the first team.

In March 2021, Ngwenya moved on loan to Cove Rangers in Scottish League One, making seven appearances before the left-back made his international debut for Malawi in a friendly against Tanzania in June 2021.

Manager Stephen Glass believes there is much to come from Kieran and his desire to commit to Aberdeen supports the Club’s overarching strategy to be the best developer of young talent.

“Kieran is a player who has real potential, so I’m pleased he has chosen to commit himself to the Club.

“He now has an opportunity to build upon the appearances he made for the first team last season and put everything into his continued development.

“I look forward to working with him in the years ahead to help him fulfil his ambitions and establish his career with us.

Eve has to be more decisive and tactically ruthless especially when making substitutions. And why not select Poon-Angeron who played consistently well to plan in his debut games? Instead he have some young players who playing like out-of-place journeymen in this midfield. They couldn't exert control or move the play upfield. Trini coaches only seem to know who could run fast or kick hard in training.

I know eve needs time and is new to this level but even a blind man could see changes needed to be made as they just walked right thru our midfield.
bro, isn't it ironic that we suffered the same fate with latapy, burtile and dennis lawrence? bertile who ignored players like whitley and dwarika and it took a dutch man to give whitley a chance to show his talents. latapy ignored a bunch of players who was playing on a higher level like kendel jageosingh, julius james and scot sealey, yet it took a german to acknowledge molino and hnor him by saying that molino and jagdeosign had million dollar legs and could play in any league.

dennis ignored hackshaw, ryan telfer, noah powder, fenderup and greg ranjitsingh, yet oit took fenwick to bring frenderup to the forfront together with hackshaw, mate i'm telling you that these local coaches are terrible for our football, they seem to like what they like and ignore all the rest.

now tell me how is hashim arcia any better than poon angeron, in fact how is isiah lee , andre fortune and jesse williams better than poon? i just can't see it. and he had the chance to put poon back in the team when hyland and judah were injured but refused too and instead went and got two defenders to replace two midfielders.

in the end i'm thankful we loss, now i want the xenophobes like andre baptiste, ken butcher and clayton morris to call for angue eve's head like they called for terry's, i could bet the whole treasury that they won't, they'll stay quiet and hope that no one notices and hope that it's swept under the rug. stay tuned.

No poon but jesse williams is playing his position and  williams  is a defender .not a mid..
