Id check out your payment status and fast.  Ive seen a couple other webpage forum threads where people  sent the money via the transfer (for phase 1 and 2) but FIFA was 15-20 EUROS short due to bank charges and exchange rates
Looks like FIFA ended up cancelling the order and they got no tickets.

Check out the self service option on the FIFA link and check your status !!

Football / Toronto beats out Edmonton to hold 2007 U20 world cup final
« on: January 27, 2006, 12:19:10 AM »
TORONTO (CP) - Citing the prospect for more profit, the Canadian Soccer Association has awarded the showcase final of the 2007 men's FIFA Under-20 World Cup to Toronto over Edmonton.

Edmonton's Commonwealth Stadium is three times the size of the 20,000-seat Toronto venue planned for Exhibition Place near Lake Ontario, but the CSA says its figures showed a Toronto final on July 22, 2007, would be more profitable.

"We believe the yield to the association for the final will be in excess of $1 million," association COO Kevan Pipe said after a news conference Thursday. "We don't know if the same analysis could have held at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton. We haven't had a history of being able to achieve that ever in the city with so many tickets in a smaller population region.

"And certainly in Toronto there's been multiple, multiple events in the last year and a half, two years, that have had multimillion gates."

Edmonton drew more than 47,000 to watch Canada take on the U.S. in the final of the inaugural women's world under-19 championship in 2002. But Pipe noted that those tickets were discounted, with a tournament pass costing just $5.

"It was a very inexpensive ticket, but the focus in fact for that event was to put bottoms in seats as opposed to the financial return."

To meet the $1-million gate projection, the average ticket for the Toronto final would have to cost $50.

There is more of a focus on the bottom line for the 2007 men's under-20 tournament, second only to the World Cup in terms of size among FIFA competitions. The 24-country event has a budget in excess of $30 million with more than 500,000 spectators expected.

"We have to take a much more financial approach to this decision," Pipe said.

Toronto will also host the opening game of the tournament.

Other host cities are Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver and Victoria.

The tournament will kick off July 1, 2007, with Canada playing in Toronto, which will host 13 matches in all. The Canadian team will then fly to Edmonton to play its two remaining first-round games.

Edmonton will host five opening-round matches, plus two round-of-16 games, a quarter-final game and a semifinal game.

And, perhaps in an attempt to take the sting of losing the final to Toronto, Edmonton could be home to the Canadian team deep into the tournament if it keeps winning.

Toronto will also host quarter-final and semifinal games with the other quarter-finals in Montreal and Vancouver.

Ticket prices for the tournament will be released by June 1, after approval from FIFA. The CSA wants to take advantage of the World Cup in Germany this summer to spur sales.

Pipe said there was nothing political about the choice of Toronto, saying the new Tory federal government has already said it will honour prior commitments. The previous Liberal government had committed $27 million to the $62-million Toronto stadium.

"We have no reason to believe that there's any hiccups at all," Pipe said.

The stadium site is being prepared for construction, he added.

Pipe also said Montreal and Vancouver are both solidly behind the event, now that the CSA has agreed to take over responsibility for any financial risk for the tournament, rather than leave it to the regional hosts.

"The financial projections for this tournament right now are quite positive, so we believe the risks involved are fairly minimal," Pipe said.

A FIFA inspection team will visit all six host cities in early April.

All 52 matches of the tournament will be broadcast, with 180 countries expected to show some of the event. Pipe said organizers hope to have every game available on Canadian TV.

Edmonton will get first crack at seeing the Brazilian under-20 team, which has agreed to play three games against its Canadian counterpart in May. The teams will meet May 19 in Edmonton and May 22 in Victoria with a third game set for Vancouver although no date has been set yet.

The right to write.
By: Lasana Liburd.

It is going on 11 years since I first covered a sporting event as an accredited member of the Trinidad and Tobago press.

My first assignment, I remember clearly, was an international friendly football match between Trinidad and Tobago and Norway at the Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain.

At the time, I wrote for the Trinidad Guardian's youth magazine called Zone and witnessed a superb individual performance by our own midfield star Russell Latapy who scored a hattrick in a 3-2 win for the host nation.

I never missed an international game-at any age group or sex-since unless events overlapped or I was out of the country, as has been the case for much of the past two and a half years.

For the past decade, I covered three senior World Cup qualifying campaigns, the 2002 CONCACAF Gold Cup finals, the 2001 FIFA World Youth Championship, the 2002 CONCACAF Congress and more senior Caribbean Cup tournaments and youth, girls and women's matches than I can readily recall.

I have also worked at multiple English and Scottish Premier League, Nationwide League, League Cup, FA Cup and Scottish Cup matches at venues from Old Trafford and Anfield to Ibrox and Hampden Park.

My first accreditation refusal came last November during Trinidad and Tobago's First Leg FIFA Play-Off against Bahrain at the Hasely Crawford Stadium. An administrative mix-up, at the time, meant my press request went a day after the deadline but early enough for the assigned FIFA press officer to express surprise that I was turned down.

FIFA vice-president and Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (T&TFF) special advisor Jack Warner boasted about this refusal at a press conference on January 3, 2006, and I was subsequently denied accreditation for the 2006 Germany World Cup tournament as well.

T&TFF press officer Shaun Fuentes explained that I had been "blacklisted" by FIFA while his counterpart, Dave Lamy, confirmed that Warner personally vetoed the accreditation request, which was made by the Trinidad Express Newspaper on my behalf.

The following is an exchange of e-mails between FIFA and the Trinidad Express addressing the issue:

Subject: FIFA media blacklist

Good Day,

I am a senior sport writer for the Trinidad and Tobago Express Newspaper. I am also deemed persona non grata by FIFA, if I were to take CONCACAF's word for it.

After a series examining the sale of Trinidad and Tobago's World Cup tickets through a package deal including hotel but exclusive of airfare for roughly TT$30,000 (6,218 CHF), I was warned by FIFA vice-president Jack Warner and CONCACAF president that my company's television rights could now be in jeopardy as was my accreditation.

T&TFF/CONCACAF confirmed that my accreditation to cover the World Cup was rejected although I have covered every tournament Trinidad played in for the past decade.

Pay particular notes to the following quotations as I know my colleagues in the international press will.

CONCACAF and T&TFF press officer Shaun Fuentes:

"We've been advised by FIFA that he would not be accredited to FIFA tournaments. Apparently he's in their black book, I can't say for sure."

Germany 2006 LOC media officer Dave Lamy (when asked why I was not accredited):

"I don't have to tell you that. That's internal. That's Mr Warner's business. Anything like that you ask him. I have to report to him, not to you or anybody else."

Am I on FIFA's blacklist?

Does FIFA ban journalists who ask difficult questions?

Please explain why I have been banned.

FIFA media committee member Emmanuel Maradas can confirm that I was similarly victimised during the first leg of T&T's Play Off against Bahrain. Maradas, at the time, ensured me that I would have no problem with accreditation for the World Cup as that was up to FIFA.

I look forward to a speedy response.

Dear Mr Liburd,

I refer to your e-mail below (ABOVE).

Please note that FIFA does not have a black book nor ever had one. One journalist (Andrew Jennings whom as I understand you know) was declared persona non grata for FIFA events a few years ago due his various allegations levelled at FIFA and its President.

Otherwise, all journalists and photographers are eligible to apply for accreditation in accordance with the procedures.

For general information's sake, please refer to the attached media information, sent out in early October 2005, which explains the overall procedure.

As for all associations, FIFA had to set a quota for the number of journalists and photographers that can be accredited. You can well imagine that FIFA cannot accredit an indefinite number of media, otherwise there would be no space left for the public. Some 7% of the stadium's capacity is occupied by media.

The quota is allocated based on criteria such as:

- finalist country / non finalist country

- size of media landscape (Englande.g. has more media outlets than T&T and gets a bigger quota)

- previous allocations / attendances at FIFA World Cups

In addition to the association's quotas, FIFA also itself takes care of the accreditation of the major international news and photo agencies, international freelance media, websites and so-called non-rights holding broadcasters. The overall number of journalists accredited for the FWC is around 4,500 and 1,100 photographers.

Regarding the distribution of the quota in any given country, the association is responsible to handle this in cooperation with the sports writers' association. FIFA does not at all make the call to which journalist/photographer the accreditations are allotted nor do we issue any advice in this respect to the associations.

I trust that this will be of use to you.

Yours sincerely,

FIFA

Dear Mr Herren,

I appreciate your swift response. But you can see how lines between T&TFF, CONCACAF and FIFA might be blurred in this case. Particularly when an accrediting officer says he is acting to instructions from a FIFA vice-president who is also the CONCACAF president and T&TFF special advisor.

So, you would appreciate that it is all quite confusing for the Trinidad and Tobagomedia and football fans as well as interested third parties globally.

Since I am indeed applying to cover a FIFA event rather than a T&TFF or CONCACAF one, would FIFA then intervene on a point of "fair play", which is one of your organisation's mottos. By intervene, I mean will FIFA ensure that qualified journalists from reputable newspapers within your 32 participating member associations are allowed access to follow their respective teams at Germany 2006.

Might you also say whether FIFA is inclined to request of its member association, the Trinidad and TobagoFootball Federation (T&TFF), that decency, fair play and transparency reigns as regards to its general accreditation processes even beyond Germany 2006.

Thanks again for your speedy response.

Can I still apply for press accreditation directly from FIFA? If so, can you tell me the procedure for doing this?

German ticket organisers are not true to type
By Kaveh Solhekol

GERMANS are famed for their efficiency, but when it comes to the internet and World Cup tickets, it seems that they are far from perfect. The World Cup organising committee sent more than half a million e-mails from its headquarters in Frankfurt yesterday, telling supporters that their ticket applications would be entered into an electronic lottery and that they could check the status of their order at the online customer service centre.

All well and good, but it appears that someone in Frankfurt might have had a liquid lunch before composing the e-mail. Clicking on the link provided brings up a message that will be familiar to millions inside and outside Germany: page not found.

There was more bad news for England supporters planning on travelling to Bavaria to watch their team give Sven-Göran Eriksson the perfect send-off by winning the World Cup, when the organising committee announced that it had received 24 times as many applications as there are tickets in the last significant sales period, which closed on Sunday. Eager supporters placed about 678,000 orders for six million tickets in the month-long sale and an electronic ballot will be held on January 31 to allocate 250,000 tickets.

The most oversubscribed matches include the final in Berlin on July 9 and the group games between Sweden and England in Cologne on June 20 and Holland and Argentina in Frankfurt on June 21.

According to the organising committee, all applicants will have an equal chance of success and the winners of the ballot will receive an e-mail or letter on February 3.

A further two sales phases were scheduled to be held, in February and May, but the organising committee appears to have had a change of heart and only one final sale to distribute remaining tickets will be held. A decision on when this will be and on how many tickets will be made available is yet to be made.

Supporters who want to shun the limelight and soak up the atmosphere may want to concentrate their efforts next time around on the less glamorous fixtures, such as Tunisia versus Saudi Arabia or Paraguay versus Trinidad and Tobago, which are undersubscribed.

However, if you have deep pockets, there are still official Fifa hospitality packages available for England games at www.isehospitality.com

BERLIN, Jan 13 (Reuters) - Orders for 250,000 tickets for this year's World Cup in Germany on offer in the final sales window are set to be oversubscribed about 18 times, organisers said on Friday, two days before applications close.

Preliminary figures show some 535,000 orders for 4.5 million tickets have been placed so far in the third sales period, which opened on Dec. 12 and is due to run until midnight on Sunday, the Organising Committee said in a statement.

Balloting to decide who gets the tickets is scheduled for Jan. 31 before allocations are announced in early February. The order in which ticket requests is received will make no difference to the allocation process.

"Despite the enormous interest, those applying in the remaining two days do have a realistic chance of getting a FIFA World Cup ticket," Organising Committee vice president Horst Schmidt said in a statement.

Organisers said 89 percent of orders came from Europe, of which 53 percent were from Germany but, overall, orders had come from 197 countries.

The strong demand for tickets came despite recent controversy in Germany over stadium safety after a consumer watchdog criticised the state of preparedness of several grounds in which matches are due to be played.

As well as the final in Berlin on July 9, first round matches between Germany and Poland (Dortmund, June 14), Brazil and Australia (Munich, June 18), Sweden and England (Cologne, June 20) and Netherlands and Argentina (Frankfurt, June 21) have been particularly heavily oversubscribed.

Five first round ties are not yet overbooked: Tunisia v Saudi Arabia (Munich, June 14), Saudi Arabia v Ukraine (Hamburg, June 19), Paraguay v Trinidad & Tobago (Kaiserslautern, June 20), Iran vs Angola (Leipzig, June 21) and Ukraine v Tunisia (Berlin, June 23).

The World Cup begins in Munich on June 9 and features 32 teams playing a total of 64 matches at 12 venues across Germany, culminating in the final at the Olympic Stadium.

« on: August 21, 2005, 12:16:46 PM »
the team would have been  better with Latas as a coach / player or as it is now with no Latas and Beenie man as coach.

Sam I already know your answer :)

Not trying to stir up the pot, just wondering what you guys feel...I think Beenie doing a great job but we would be stronger with Latas to help the midfield over the tactics of Beenie.

and no Im not calling for a change, I know LAtas eh comin back.  Just want to see the opinions

Football / kelvin jack
« on: June 10, 2005, 08:43:22 PM »
Thanks to peong I finally got to see the match.

For fellas bashing jack on the first goal, that goal was a result of the striker being in a good position for the rebound (NOT OFFSIDE!!!! STEUPPS FOR THOSE WHO STILL SAY IT IS, like Maradona 7 said those who say it is.....) and Also noted that Avery was still on the sideline for from his knock just before, so infact we were down to 10 men, perhaps the reason for the poor mark on Borgetti?
Some may have mentioned this, I have not had time tio read all the posts.

IF Borgetti was not is that position I think every last one of us would have been saying, "weeyyyyy save boy" from the initial shot.

BUT can this man not kick a dead ball????
The use of defenders to take the kicks needlessly tires them out (going back and fourth to take it) as well keeps the oppositions strikers higher up (they are onside with the defender back until he runs back to join the rest of the D).

I don’t think the result (win/loss) would have been any different has Ince or Shaka played

Say we pull of a magic and beat Costa Rica with BSC, dem eh goh fire him and we have no chance to advance with him as coach

If we loose to Costa Rica dem may fianlly fire him but we goh be to far behind.

WE need to get a replacement by Wed, HOPE for a win and name a full time coach before the next match OR
HOPE we win with BSC as coach and he steps down after the match (which I cant see)

Just my thoughts.
