To my absolute surprise, at the press conference, Infantino minutes ago mentioned the Caribbean league. Clearly this was part of the bait dangled to secure support.

(Thus far, he has responded to questions in German, Italian, English, French and Spanish ... without any interpretation and was on the verge of doing the same in Portuguese).

Definitely. And we know rightly or wrongly DJW is a strong  backer of the Super League. Hopefully it works out though because I think the creation of a FIFA ran Caribbean League can be extremely helpful to our football.

So DJW back the right horse. Hopefully Infantino will follow through and help with the creation of the Caribbean Super League.

We went into that game underestimating Haiti and mentally unprepared ... and it showed throughout the game. Haiti wanted it more than us and they deserve to be in Copa. Let our players watch Copa and weep from home.
.

Agree. Haiti had no preperation and a coach that was hired about a month before the game. Though it hurts that we aren't the players have no one to blame but themselves.

For what it's worth UK Guardian writer Ben Lyttleton tweeted after the goal yesterday that Muckette is being scouted by bigger European clubs.

Football / Re: Yohance Marshall.
« on: January 27, 2016, 03:28:24 PM »
Yesterday was the first Mexican league match of Marshall that I watched and I was impressed by two things. Firstly Marshall looked technically sound. He didn't stumble on the ball, he didn't panic and made good decisions on the ball. I don't think he was caught in possession once vs a good Tijuana team. Secondly it seemed like Marshall was a leader on the team, others seemed to defer to him and I found this interesting because that league can be hard on foreigners. Does anyone know if Marshall speaks Spanish well because that would help to explain.

Merely in the interest of clarity: The match v. Tijuana was a Copa MX game, not an Ascenso MX match. The difference being akin to an encounter during a FA Cup round v. a regular league match in the Championship.

Tijuana is a Liga MX club (top flight) and Murciélagos is an Ascenso MX squad ( the division below).

Competency will develop automatically from being in a training environment in which the player is exposed to the vocabulary of football.

Recently, I was out to grab a bite. I look up, Patrick Viera is standing next to me on his phone discussing a player in competent Italian. Players will pick it up.

Also, there was recent mention of Yohance wearing the armband.

Good point, also he did play in El Salvador before.

Playing in central america seems to have benefitted our players. I noticed that Williams, Plaza, Marshall & David have the same agent. Hopefully some of our other players with Pan American Calcio take advantage of the Central American avenue instead of having their mind set on Europe.

Those who saw the game, which areas did we improve from the Gold Cup game? I remember us getting dominated in the second half and extra time of that game. Amazing to read that we could have been up 3-0 early just 3 months later.

A good result, not the best result but still we played well. and yes we should have done better. We need to work on our defense.

Our biggest problem for a long time. Was listening to Shaka on the ESPN commentary, he said he dont think Abu Bakr is international quality.

But it was an entertaining game and the team showed they have character.

Wah he say bout the Keeper?

I turned on ESPN3 after the 70th so im not sure what he said early on, but he didnt blame either GK for third goals. He said the wall was at fault for our third, and there was nothing Jan could do about the Herrera strike.
