Getting to this stage was quite interesting for them. In June 2015, they drew both legs (2-2, 4-4) against Guyana, a team that knocked T&T out of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. St Vincent had progressed on goal difference against the South American's.
The results did not sit well for Guyana, their General Secretary T&T-born Richard Groden and their coach, another T&T-born Jamaal Shabazz lodged a complaint to FIFA about a possible ineligible player.
Both St Vincent and Guyana were locked in a court battle over St Vincent's latest recruit Gavin James's passport. Guyana claimed they had fielded an ineligible James in both of the games against them stating that he did not possess a Vincentian passport and only had a British one. However, after careful examination, FIFA ruled in-favour of St Vincent.
At the CONCACAF level, we have seen T&T clubs under perform and part of this has to do with teams being forced to use the tournament as an early preseason while the Mexican, NSL and MLS leagues are already into half of their season. These issues are clearly exacerbated by the placement of the tournament on the calendar.
The TTFA had hired Miguel Trujillo to be their official match agent. I think he was the one who got the Uruguay match.
However, I heard that they had to let him go because of this.
Miguel Trujillo is very good friends with Jamal Shabaaz who recommended him to Williams and without doing any research, hired him.
I was waiting to see how long it would take for people to connect the dots.
Just can't believe a man like DJW will believe in a man like Shabaaz.
This is laughable on so many levels. None so blind...
FIFA Match Agent Pleads Guilty in U.S. to Corruption Charges
By David Voreacos and Christie Smythe, Bloomberg.
A Colombian soccer consultant pleaded guilty to paying hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes to officials who awarded media and marketing rights, admitting he used sham contracts and Panamanian bank accounts to cover his tracks.
Miguel Trujillo, 65, entered his plea in federal court in Brooklyn, New York, where he was the 13th of 40 people charged to have admitted guilt in a U.S. crackdown on soccer corruption in the Americas. Prosecutors say soccer officials and business executives paid more than $200 million in bribes for media and marketing rights to tournaments, World Cup siting votes and elections at FIFA, the sport’s governing body.
In pleading guilty, Trujillo admitted paying bribes to help two marketing companies, Traffic Sports USA Inc. and Media World LLC, win rights to tournaments. Those events were staged by the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football, or Concacaf; regional soccer federations; and national federations in Central America and the Caribbean.
He said he paid the bribes in advance of the World Cup qualifiers in 2014, 2018 and 2022 for Central American soccer federations.
He and his co-conspirators “often used sham contracts and invoices in an effort to disguise the true nature of these transactions,” Trujillo said in court.
Earlier Pleas
Trujillo’s admissions buttressed earlier guilty pleas by Traffic Group founder Jose Hawilla and former Traffic USA Chief Executive Officer Fabio Tordin; Media World’s former CEO, Roger Huguet; and Concacaf’s ex-president Jeffrey Webb. Trujillo said he conspired with those three and 10 others not identified by name in court documents.
Trujillo said he used several small companies he ran and Panamanian bank accounts to help move bribes through a labyrinth. One $80,000 payment moved from his company account at Multibank Inc. in Panama to a Bank of America Corp. correspondent account in New York to a Citigroup Inc. account in the name of a Caymanian lawyer, court documents show.
Another payment for $170,000 went from his company’s Multibank account in Panama to a Deutsche Bank AG correspondent account in New York to a Loyal Bank Ltd. account in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. That account was in the name of a British Virgin Islands holding company run by a Concacaf official, court records show.
Match Arranger
Trujillo, a legal permanent resident in Florida, was licensed by FIFA to negotiate and arrange matches between the sport’s national associations, according to a statement from Brooklyn U.S. Attorney Robert Capers.
Trujillo pleaded guilty to one count of money-laundering conspiracy, two counts of wire-fraud conspiracy, and one count of filing a false tax return. He agreed to forfeit $495,000.
Trujillo’s attorney Joseph Steven Rosenbaum declined to comment after the hearing.
In a separate hearing, the former president of the Venezuelan soccer federation, Rafael Esquivel, made his first appearance in federal court. Esquivel was extradited from Switzerland, where he was one of seven soccer officials arrested last May.
He pleaded not guilty to racketeering conspiracy, wire-fraud conspiracy and money-laundering conspiracy.
The case is U.S. v. Trujillo, 16-cr-108, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of New York (Brooklyn).

I don't think he meant building a local team that will replace your first team, go easy preacher.
Building a local team that will feed your first team is more like it.
Good idea if you asked me.
Once local players get call up by T&T and under Hart they will improve overall.
Lets not forgot that we do have a lot (11) of local players who are already regular players on Hart's team, Jan, Marvin, Cummings, Cyrus, Guerra and if you want, Winchester, Marcus, Jomal, DeSilva, Hector and Hackshaw.
I understand very well what Flex is saying. But it will never pan out. The issue with local football vs National team has always been ideological. It's not the role of the national team to improve players. The National team is not an extension of Pro League development. That's why we've lost very good foreign coaches. And even though Sir Hart is doing well, the same falsely placed entitlement is there and more so now with this new TTFA Director. Let the league do their thing let the National coach do his thing. I don't trust how we do business. Look, we have a winning team for the first time in how long. So what to do we do? We vote out the Director and right away we start loosing.
A penny for my thoughts:How can they be match fit if there is no league for them to play in
Players-too many of the players were not fit showing a lack of discipline on nutrition and preparation. This has nothing to do with TTFA, preparation nor the coach this is each WOMEN looking in the mirror. They, too large a percentage were not match fit which is each persons responsibility.
Coaching-surprised me that he change the formation with such little time to teach and prepare the players for his expectation. Coach did not look positive on the sideline nor in interviews, he needs to understand he is on global tv and optics are important. Coach was too negative about players mental toughness, it made me think its his mental toughness that is in question not the players. Lastly, his last interview said the team have to rebuild, like this is news but why say that about players that just fought for you. He might be a good coach but he not ready for prime time.
That is the responsibility of the TTFA
The only way to get match fit when there is no league, is by playing practice games.
How many practice games(not International friendlies) did the team play
That is the responsibility of the TTFA as guided by the Coach
Don't say that it is the ladies to blame at all. They were sold short by the TTFA even before they were selected to represent the country, then to bring in a new coach short of international experience with so little time before the tournament...please
What is quit amazing is David John Williams doesn't seem to care about working with the supporters of T&T football or the T&T public. He basically do what he likes, this will break down a lot of support.
SWO reached out to TTFA president David John-Williams regarding Nick DeLeon and he seems at first willing to assist him in obtaining the necessary documents to represent T&T despite never acknowledging my follow-up.
Don't even know how or why he was on the TnT team cause he never made a worthwhile contribution for club nor country for a while. How he start ahead of Cato and Caesar for that Haiti game is beyond me - must've been good in training I guess. This move might be the kick up his behind to spur him forward cause right now he's crap!!
You right, I honestly think out of all the players on Hart team, Peltier have to be the worst.
He does nothing good for the team especially going forward. Not even one shot on goal, cah believe he is a starter for T&T.
He is half the player he was 2/3 years ago.
Like ah say, money does tun people in fools.
nick delon is coming on board also we have levi garcia and aikim andrews he will be out contention soon
