Football / Re: David John Williams Thread.
« on: November 30, 2015, 09:58:48 AM »
John Williams is elected as New President of TTFA.
By Shaun Fuentes (TTFA).

The Trinidad and Tobago Football Association has a new President in David John Williams following his defeat of Raymond Tim Kee for the position at the FA’s Internal Elections on Sunday at the VIP Lounge, Hasely Crawford Stadium.

In the second round of voting, John Williams received 25 votes to Tim Kee’s 19 while a third candidate Clynt Taylor received one vote. The elections went to a second round because no candidate had 50 percent or more of the votes. Forty five delegates were present for voting with North East Stars and Point Fortin Civic Centre both failing to show. And there were no representations from the Coaches or Players Association which are non-operational.

After Round one, John Williams was ahead with 18, followed by Tim Kee (13), Taylor (8.) and Ramesh Ramdhan and Selby Browne with three each. Both Browne and Ramdhan were eliminated after round one.

John Williams maintained a fair advantage to take the post in Round Two.

The three elected Vice Presidents are Ewing Davis, Joanne Salazar and Allan Warner, all members of John Williams’ slate.

The Board of Directors also elected following a lengthy voting process on Sunday night are Samuel Saunders (Central FA), Sherwyn Dyer (Eastern Counties Football Union), Karanjabari Williams (Northern FA), Richard Quan Chan (Southern FA), Anthony Moore (Tobago FA), Joseph Taylor (T&T Football Referees Association), Dexter Skeene (TT Pro League) and Sharon O’Brien (Women’s League Football).

After more than 20-plus years under the same administration, central football has gotten a new executive. On Wednesday night, at the zone’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Election of Officers at Woodford Lodge, Chaguanas, businessman Shymdeo Gosine was elected unopposed as president of the Central Football Association (CFA) for a four-year term.

I thought Shymdeo Gosine won the CFA seat?

I guess Yaya not come back, because Sharon O’Brien is still here.

Congrats Mr Williams, I wish you a successful 4 year term.

I also hope to see you work with SWO and the fans a little more.

Good luck.

Good going Mr Ramdhan, its seems DJW and Ramdhan are the only ones advance enough and laying out solid plans, it will be a tight race.

But like a politician, they promise you the world.

If DJW wins that may be the end of players over the age of 28? And that will be a big problem, unless I am wrong, because I listened to his video and he wants to have youths playing like he's currently doing at W Connection, which can be good, but bad to, but I like what he said about having active youth teams, maybe I'm not understanding him correctly.

As for Ramdhan, he seems level headed and people will be stupid to believe he still works and answer to Jack Warner.

It would be nice if both men tie and have no choice but to join forces, we need a collective effort.

I am concern about his involvement with Terry Fenwick though? I know Terry wants to dig his claws at T&T football a while now and it could be the end of Hart? Like Insider said, both of these men have their own staff they want to bring in.

Hart and Waldrum are the best things to happen to T&T football on both the men and women teams.

Btw, I really love the headlines Flex.

Great ideas that many mention here a long time ago, not sure if he reads the forum, but members here share some of the same ideas.

Love what he said about getting the leagues to work together, including the SSFL.

I remember Flex asking Sheldon the same, look at questions number 2, 6 & 7

http://www.socawarriors.net/forum/index.php?topic=61249.msg880143#msg880143

All of these ideas are great, getting them to work is another thing.

Errol asked it here to, about football in Tobago.

http://www.socawarriors.net/forum/index.php?topic=63734.msg915139#msg915139

Glad someone is taking notes..

Like the energy from David, he seems serious and eager to get the job and I like that.

I just hope he doesn't try to fire Hart and bring in Stuart Charles.

Like the way this was done, very professional.

Good luck.

USA will target a few things.

They will double team Kenwyne and Joevin.

They will do all kind of magic to win corners and set plays. They are a bigger team that us.

They will also try to play us physical, beat us to our game.

And if they score first they will lock up shop.

Johnson, Altidore and Bradley could hurt us.

Gordon is very sneakie.

Morris is a school boy looking for name, so watch that, no pressure on him.

From Bigsoccer on USA

Guzan n/a - Had nothing to do, just the best seat in the house. The first goal was on his defenders.

Cameron - did ok after the initial blunder, scored, and looked like a guy who can do more against stronger rivals. A
Besler - another guy with little to do, so he went ahead and tried feeding balls directly to the forwards. A

Yedlin - he's a runner with defensive weaknesses, everybody knows that. A good guy to have against CONCACAF-level opposition, though. B
Ream - solid, but don't expect consistent width from him, after all he plays LCB not LB for his club. B+

Jones - guy's getting to that age where a footballer talks of retirement, and answers questions about his past glories. B-
Bradley - he knows how to punish minnows, at least he's not lost that. B

Fabian - this is a guy who has been inconsistent in midfield, and has been taken out of games by better rivals. But against the Vincies, he shone. A+
Zardes - he needs to look up before passing, sometimes he seemed over-eager to prove himself. Poor kid. B

Bobby - he's got the X factor these days, and looks eager to score. Eye of the tiger, until a superior team shows us his limits. A-
Jozy - the big problem with him is, besides the bad positioning in attack, that he looks like a guy taking a stroll by the beach on a nice spring day. Two goals, one assist, and no one loves him. A

Subs:

Miazga - meh. B
Nagbe - he was just so happy to be there. B-
Morris - thinking about his finals. C

This article is really piss poor and makes the story look like fake gossip. It does more harm than good.

Jack Warner really cant pay someone better to write for him with all that money he stole?

Poor Sheldon, so sad to see he has to take this route and id the story is real, I applaud him for standing up.

He should have used SWO or one of the T&T more recognized dailies.

Nothing on the new TTFA website about the Women's games this weekend  :cursing: Well if it is I can't find it however no disrespect intended to the men however if Jones or Bateau has a hang nail it's front page news so when are the women going to start getting some respect TTFA  :busshead: It is on the Facebook page of the Women Warrior's with the TTFA logo Front and center. Anyways hope that the Women get the fan support they deserve this weekend. It's time the TTFA starts to give the Women the respect they so rightfully deserve.

T&T aim to break November-duck as 2018 WCQ's kicks-off.
By Inshan Mohammed.

Guatemala held on to the 1-0 lead until half-time and must have felt they had this cat in the bag. But then, a magician showed up, at 37, Russell Latapy came to the rescue when he made a dazzling run down the right, blew pass 2, okay, 3 defenders and unleashed a well placed left-footed strike under Miguel Klee’s out stretched arms to give T&T the equaliser in minute 48th, from there, it was game on.

Currently, Guatemala doesn't have a big talent pool of players coming through their team like they did in the past when they were blessed with some top players, including Guillermo Ramírez, Gustavo Cabrera, Fredy Thompson, Juan Carlos Plata, Gonzalo Romero, Dwight Pezzarossi, Oscar Sánchez, Freddy García and of course the magnificent Edgar Estrada between the sticks.

Today, Guatemala's inspirational captain, the evergreen trickster Carlos “The Little Fish” Ruiz has been their main man in attack. At age 36, Ruiz still packs a punch, in fact, his country's only goal at the 2015 Gold Cup came against T&T and the former Los Angeles Galaxy man could have had 3 on that night. His powerfully clinical strike against T&T almost ripped the back of the net. Ruiz, who has netted a remarkable 30 goals in 37 all-time World Cup qualifiers and has eight goals for Municipal this season in all competitions.

Ruiz’s ruthlessness is quickly followed by talented 27-year old midfielder Marco Papa, who is capable of playing anywhere is midfield and can score from there as well. Papa, who had stints with Municipal, Dutch club SC Heerenveen and Chicago Fire where he was most successful, scoring 21 from 76 games, can turn it up at any given time.

Players biting, but no catch.

There are few foreign players who have shown interest in playing for T&T but with a mixture of poor players' management and a lack of funding has cold all interest. Nick DeLeon, Ryan Inniss, John Bostock, Bradley Wright-Phillips and Sheanon Williams are all eligible to play for the Panmen. Despite T&T's incline on the international game, the players are still reluctant on joining Hart's team or, at least for now?

Did you know US-Born midfielder Ricardo Clark and UK-born winger Ricky Shakes have something in common? They both were eligible to represent T&T. Clark was never pursued and Shakes’ pleas to join the Warriors went a-begging. In a twist of faith Shakes scored against the Red, White and Black and sent them packing out of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers; and brought acclaim to his newly adopted country Guyana with its first ever victory over T&T at this level.

Though not the finished article, the T&T team is by no means a pushover and is very capable of getting positive results from its opening two games. The team is led by its inspirational captain Kenwyne “K-9” Jones or the “Black Beast” at least, that's how they describe him in Guatemala, who is playing some of the best football we've seen from him since coach Hart joined the team. One notable moment of brilliance from the T&T skipper was the phenomenal 20 yard strike he scored in a recent friendly against Panama, where T&T came away with a 2-1 victory in Panama City.

In the meantime, T&T has met USA 4 times in the month of November in World Cup Qualifying and has never beaten them. Now with Stephen Hart at the helm and a potent strike force, T&T could be set to break the November duck and nothing would make it sweeter, than to beat the Yanks in a game at home that really matters.

Some quoutes I like and also found something interesting as well.

I didn't know Hart was born in La Romain?

T&T's mission to Moscow begins.

Rally to Russia

What is even more exciting is the motto used here. We should adapt it.

SWO for life.

A masterpiece, well written, well researched, well done.

These type of articles makes you feel to read it a few times, it really vibes you up.

Flex is definitely our best T&T writer at the moment, very unique, detailed, balanced and exciting with no mistakes. Compare to Fuentes, Simon and especially Prescott, this here is a class act and a wonderful piece of journalism.

Its to bad the TTFA never took advange of having Flex on their team. Sheldon (Flex friend), or not, they ignore the fact he is tops.

Boss write up, love it !!!!!!!!!!

Can't see both Molino and Cummings on the field at the same time unless on is used as a striker?

To be honest, I can't see Molino reclaiming his spot ahead of Cummings.

Cummings is technically a better player.

Besides, an ACL damage is hard to come back from 100%, but I do hope that Molino case heals properly and he don't rush back in to play. We need him though.

I remember Fenwick taking Central FC to the Concacaf Cup and then decided he wanted a lot more money they couldn't afford and bailied out. He went to Ma Pau but that scheme didn't work out either and now he wants piece of the T&T pie.

Why does everyone use our sports for personal gian?

I just waste half hour on that site, no info, no team roster or statistics, most of the tabs are blanked.

Does anyone know how much Tim Kee paid his son to do the site?

We have no money to pay our players and coaches but spending money on a website that brings no income, shouldn't that money be invested better?

I really hope there is a channge in president very soon.

KJ got hit on his shin, will be out for 2 maybe 3 weeks.

Do we always have to play our best players especially in a friendly game?

If Hart going to experiment, we good give the younger ones a chance.

Come on Hart, its a big gamble to take, he already played vs Panama, without Jones we will be in trouble.

Andrews look very good.

209
I am glad he cleared the air.

Nice work Flex, I hope he hires you as the official writer, the ttfa needs one.

DJW sounds decent, hopefully he have a good head on.

Tim Kee did ok as well.
