Kenwyne Jones could be set for an extended stay at the Britannia Stadium after his successful loan spell from Southampton.

The young striker's initial month's loan comes to an end after this weekend's Champioship clash at Wolves.

After scoring his second goal in his sixth game of his first month's loan, manager Tony Pulis has confirmed the Premiership club are now being approached with a view to keeping Jones at City for the remainder of the campaign.

He says: "Our Director of Football, John Rudge, is talking to Southampton with a view to Kenwyne remaining on loan, hopefully until the end of the season."

The Lyon powerhouse has been attracting admiring glances from most of Europe's top clubs and helped the French champions storm into the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League when thrashing Werder Bremen over two legs.
Essien, who had a trial with United as a youngster, is being forwarded as a possible long-term replacement for Red Devils skipper Roy Keane.
"I know that [the press reports regarding interest from Premiership clubs], " he said
"But, for me, I don't think about that because I have left everything for my manager [agent].
"So I don't think about it and just concentrate on my football.
"I like Manchester. I know most of their players and like them, and would like to play one day in the Premier League.
"I'll be happy to play for Manchester but, at the moment, I'm in Lyon and I have to concentrate on that.

u see  mourinho is just making a name for him self the more people hate him is the more people will like him .and he is cocky but not like he is losing he is on top of the prership in the last 8 in the champions league and beat the top side in spain.his style is unique and this serves as alot of publisity for the media .just look at it when u think of chelsea you doh think of drogba or duff but of jose mourinho.

Kenwyne jones scored today vs a very difficut gillinham out fit but after goin down early kenwyne equalised for stoke with a header but gillinham found tthe go ahead goal in the afterwards and the game finished 2-1.Trinidad and tobagos defender ian cox played in gillinham colours also.

hector sam could be  crutial to the team if he can play the role he is now playing soo well in wales.He "super sub"by his manager Denis Smith is now coming on and scoring goals and is the second highest gol scorer at the club behind juan ugathe{whole scored 5 goals in the last game b4 oldam game}.Can he now do this for T&T? the only chance he had he answered in the affermative by scoring the equalising goal fro t&T vs St vincent off the bench .This goal signaedl a T & T turn around and T & T eventually won the game .Hector in his last 5 games has scored 3 goals all off the wrexham bench.

The best and most inform striker from trinidad right now is none other than kenwyne Jones .He has scored the most goals than any other trinidadan this season yet has played the least games and is the only trinidadian outfield player still linked with a premership club {exluding dwight}.Kenwyne has not scored in 4 games at stoke but scored on his debut one in four is not that bad but scince he is at stoke they have not lost one game .His in form striking parthner williams recently said he is a very good supporting stiker ,Which what i think t&T needs in the foward line.
