I am not happy the Mexicans won

Cheating should never be rewarded.

Congratulations to Jamaica on an excellent tournament.

Who ever thought Jamaica stood any chance vs Mexico was obviously sniffing paint.

We and all woulda probably be down by a similar scoreline.

Mexico is a different kettle of fish in a final than in a group match.

Jamaica still has a shot

Although Mexico is looking better in defense than against us

so why can't you'll support Jamaica simply because we have more in common with them than we do with Mexico?????? Why must there be that predicated hint of insularity

You read way too much into what I posted.

That is all I will say on the matter

The Jamaicans showed up with a mission on their mind at this year Gold Cup. I am sure they are still hungry

Pride and passion...

Where was the hunger from our players in the quarter final?

Congrats to Jamaica ... When you love your nation..l you play with your heart and soul for it..

Boss, Jamaica is a better organized team defensively than the Warriors are by a mile.

Any top European team would be proud of the way Jamaica held its defensive shape in the face of predictable American attacks.

The Warriors tried their best, and considering the poor level of preparation for the Gold Cup, actually exceeded my expectations, leading me to raise them for the quarterfinal.

Jamaica actually has a very good chance to win the tournament.

Congrats to yard! Football has emerged victorious over "sahker"

I wish Jamaica all the best in the final.

There is no reason why Jamaica can't win the whole thing.

Jamaica is well organized defensively and can score when it has to

The most disappointing aspect of the Warriors' performance yesterday is that we did not win one corner in 120 minutes of football.

I know the fellas tried, but that was really disappointing.

Football / Re: Fitness is a Huge Problem
« on: July 20, 2015, 12:19:36 PM »
Of course the guys not fit.....this is not new information.

Pro League fit and International fit are 2 different things completely.

Nearly half the side playing at a below professional league level...doh mind what they call it

Our players play with heart and soul all tournament...especially yesterday despite coming to a gun battle with caps guns...and were in position to still win.

But all people could do is waste them down while indulging in idle, idiotic speculation.

f**ked up I tell you.

So Breds, none of our players fit then? Even the mls players? KJ played well.. Bakr and Cyrus had an extra day rest... So what is their excuse?

Most of them men born in Trinidad... All of a sudden heat is the factor.. When man drink rum the night before, that could dry you out the next day... I agree..

Not saying that they fete but they played like they did... Saw them play much better, yesterday they should have put it away.. SH did the best he can, they failed him yesterday and the fans who always supporting them whether they play like garbage or not..

The whole joke is I didn't even care about the Jordan match... But this one was more important than that Mexico game.. We play superior attacking football against Mexico and rubbish in our quarter final..

Yet I have to sit here and listen to some supporters telling me to accept that.. Can't do that.. As far as I am concerned KJ and Hart get top honours.. Everyone else failed.. Miserably..

To be fair, summer time in the NY/NJ area is a different kettle of fish to the heat in Trinidad and Tobago; take it from one who has lived in upstate NY where the weather was hot enough up there, never mind NYC and East Rutherford NJ (Where Met Life Stadium is located).

The continental seat can be quite suffocating and oppressive. One feels like a ham being baked in an oven in those parts.

So it is quite valid for our players to have felt the effects of the heat yesterday, especially after playing so many matches in a short space of time.

Buh say wha; go Reggae Boyz!

I know Jamaica is our rival and we goh take real ole' talk if Yard makes the final, but ah really CYAH stand the USA with its Johnny-come-lately arrogance with regards to the beautiful game

Why am I reading that Cordell Cato is listed as the scorer of the own goal.

It was Kenwyne Jones.

A win would have been great.

But this is the most heart I have seen from a T&T team in a long time!

We played well enough to win, but the defenders lost some composure in the face of intense Mexican pressure

Commentator said "Que es esto?" when the warriors equalized, lol.

On the third goal, the Mexican commentator started to laugh in disbelief

La selección de Trinidad y Tobago ha vencido a los guatemaltecos.

In case I butchered the Spanish language, we won! (to state the obvious).

Well done fellas.

Nervy in some aspects but three points is three points.

Although I am lucky to have fox sports 2, it is ridiculous that none of the local stations is televising any of Trinidad and Tobago's matches.

No wonder our football is in the state it is in...

The game is Thursday and it's on Fox Sports 2 (if you have that channel), not sure about online.

Thank you

Hard luck Peru

Poetic Justice for Peru

Medel scored an own goal that any striker would be proud of.

EDIT: Vargas scores a golazo to restore Chile's advantage.

It is a shame that Peru is down to 10 men. The Peruvians are really trying.

Chile is leading Peru 1-0 in the first semifinal. That goal looked suspiciously offside as the goalscorer seemed to be in offside position when he scored on the rebound off of the initial shot on goal.

Peru has been playing with 10 men since the 20th minute. Carlos Zambrano received his marching orders when he appeared to kick the Chilean player in the back while making a challenge for the ball.

And just like that, Brazil have been eliminated from the tournament.

Actually, Paraguay had the better of the play in the second half, even if the final pass into the Brazilian area was lacking.

I have no idea why Robinho was substituted; couldn't he have been a potential penalty taker as opposed to the person for whom he was substituted?

Well, Brazil really has a lot of work to do. This team has been unconvincing for the entire Copa America and are deservedly out of it.

Brazil is leading 1-0 in its quarterfinal against the Paraguayans.

Since when "saque lateral (phonetic sounds to my ears) means throw-in?

I learned that the proper phrase is "saque de banda" or "saque de manos".

This probably has to do with the country that the commentator is a native of.

Actually, saque lateral and saque de banda are more commonly used than saque de manos. Can't recall hearing saque de manos much (or ever).

Like anything else, there is more than one usage to describe an event. For instance, you might hear the term 'tiro libre' but you may also hear 'balón detenido' or 'balón parado' to describe dead-ball situations.

Muchos gracias por su explicación.

It's good that I am learning something while watching the match.

Paraguay is holding its own against Dunga's charges

Only Spanish links.

I was watching on rojadirecta.me

Luckily my Spanish has improved so I understood about sixty percent of what the commentators were saying.

now if we can only say de same thing about your English....yuh know yuh walk right into that ;D ;D ;D ;D

My apologies sir; I was speaking in internet vernacular; sometimes one falls prey to the linguistic laziness of the technological age, which has proved to be a beacon of hope for humanity and the scourge of mankind's existence at the same time.

I trust that my syntax and communication style is clearer now
