That was one of the most bizarre penalty shootouts I have seen in a while.

Argentina seemed to have it in hand at 4-3 up with just one penalty to win; and then the missed penalty show began...

Argentina rellllll lucky

Colombia is very lucky to still be in this match. Argentina have had the ball hit the post and deflect across the Colombian goal line without crossing it and have had a ball cleared off the line by a Colombian defender.

Wow.

5 yellows so far. Cavani get 2, so he is gone.

I might have reacted too if a player did this nonsense to me:

http://www.livesoccertv.com/news/14716/gonzalo-jara-gets-on-cavani-s-nerves-with-the-sickest-provocation-ever/

The Chilean player put his finger in the man backside....

I know one has to be disciplined, but speaking as a man, I would be RELLLL vex!

Any online links for the matches?

68
Jerome Taylor has been a massive disappointment with the bat. I know he is in the team for his bowling, but he is surely a better batsman than his current form shows

69
I think the match will be over today or early tomorrow. It would be better if this was a series of four - day matches.

One thing I miss about not being in the US is the lack of online viewing options for today's champions league final.

Does anyone on here know of any good places to watch online.

I don't mind paying

The match swung Australia's way when the last four Australian wickets added close to 200 runs. When Australia's no. 11 can score 39, you know that the West Indies were really up against it.

Our bowlers are also under-performing, with Bishoo's efforts in Australia's first innings being the exception.

Ramdin's captaincy was also negative and uninspired in the face of Australia's massive rearguard batting.

73
Australia has been bowled out for 318 in reply to the West Indies' first innings total of 148.

Adam Voges, batting at number 5 made the majority of his unbeaten 130 with the tail which had quite a sting.

The last two wickets yielded 140 runs.

This could be morale-sapping to say the least from the West Indies' point of view.

Let's see how the Windies respond

Thank you for posting these links rotatopoti.

Cricket has lost one of its great luminaries and icons.

RIP Richie Benaud

Well, to offer a faint glimmer of optimism, there was a one day between South Africa and Australia some years ago where Australia bludgeoned its way to somewhere in the region of 434/4 only for South Africa to chase down the target, thus completing a remarkable victory.

Ah, I found the details of thus match

http://www.espncricinfo.com/rsavaus/engine/current/match/238200.html

So, it can happen folks...

76
As soon as I saw that New Zealand won the toss and decided to bat, I was very uneasy....

That uneasiness has turned to complete terror.

77
Well done for the West Indies for beating UAE by 6 wickets inside 30.3 overs. Now, barring an highly improbable tie or rain, West Indies are through to the quarters to play a New Zealand team which is a well oiled machine.

78
This is painful... :frustrated:

Y you want this team to make the final 8? They not good.

The West Indies can beat New Zealand if they progress to the quarters, but they cannot afford to switch off mentally even for a second.

79
This is painful... :frustrated:

In the midst of looking to hit the fours and sixes, ones, twos and threes also work well... The batsmen need to think out there although I understand that the West Indian players are eyeing the weather

80
UAE have been bowled out for 175.

Absolutely inexcusable after having UAE 46/6, especially considering the lack of intensity from the West Indies bowlers after Jason Holder completed his spell.

I applaud the UAE pair of Naved and Aziz for putting on 107 for the 7th wicket, but the lack of aggressiveness from the West Indies has certainly somewhat more difficult than it has to be.

81
The West Indies have become unstuck again and have stopped playing in this one-dayer. They have been waiting for UAE to capitulate and of course it has not happened

UAE are 148/6

Do they not realize they are making life difficult on themselves?

82
UAE are 49/6 after 15 overs

83
Well I guess it it's okay to treat this as an official match thread.

The West Indies have won the test and put UAE in to bat.

Holder's decision has been justified thus far as UAE are 17/3 after six overs.

84
The West Indies have to stop bowling as if this match is already won. ...

85
Well done to the Windies bowlers for putting in the disciplined bowling performance that was required in the first match.

86
Pakistan are 105/6 now; Maqsood was a big wicket.

But there is a lot of cricket left to play

87
4 wickets down for three runs

88
Horrendous start for Pakistan...

0/1

Edit: 1/2

Wow!

89
West Indies have made 310/6 in their allotted 50 overs, due in no small part to an astonishing assault by Andre Russell in the last 5 overs. The final five overs yielded 80 runs.

310/6 would have been a formidable total in world cups gone by; however, given the listless bowling performances of late and the rule structure of the modern game, a score of 310 feels like the equivalent of a score of 260 in world cups circa 1992 and beyond.

West Indies have made 304/7 off of their allotted 50 overs.

Uncle Phil must have mixed feelings on viewing his nephew's century

Wow 304. Surprised me.

Yeah, considering that West Indies were 80-odd for five down in the 23rd over of their innings, they did well to post a total of 304.

But Ireland are certainly going at a very good pace in its chase.

56/0 in the ninth over at the moment
