Stern John will be in T&T for the next 5 months, he might also be training with Joe Public while there. Not sure, but maybe he should contact Latapy and let him know he is available for selection once fit ?
I think John still have something to offer and would like to see him at least training with the team when he's fit again.

When was the last time Gay play with the team? He have no club, unknown my arse. What about Peltier and Tinto? Did they make the last couple games? I going and check.

Breds, Gay, similar to Hyland a couple of yrs ago, is a clear talent who needs caps and needs the training until he gets another foreign contract. If he signs with a pro league team it becomes less desirable for a foreign team to pick him up because there will be a transfer fee. Thats y Hyland stayed so long without a club bec it was only a matter of time before he got picked up by a foreign team. Gay's agent see's him as being in the same position. So Gay is not without a club bec he's shitty, it's because he looking for trial opportunities abroad and being attached to a club here makes him less desirable bec of the fee that will eb attached.

So according to you the best way for a club to see how good you can play is to not to play.   :beermug:

Go ask Hyland how well that worked for him? I think it worked out just fine :). Agents have a resume and a box full of tapes to promote the player, if the club likes the resume and the tapes, they will send for a trial and then they get to see the player in action. Those clubs (the kind Gay's agent is targeting) don't have scouts to send to pro league games because it’s a waste of their time and money because our league is shit. If u understood the process for getting signed abroad you'd understand y it is sometimes advantageous to remain unattached.

I think that's as strong a team as we can expect to see without the UK based pros. We do not have any other clearly better players available; this a a good piece of team selection but now the results have to be there or even I have to agree changes will prob be necessary. I support Latapy and think his staged development plan has been brilliant despite what many of our short sighted fans think, but it's time for results because unlike the friendlies which were meaningless in terms of the big picture, these games actually mean a lot.

just like a pack of cards ...only the jokers are different ! Same players , same coach, same arguments bout who eh get pick  = same results at the end !
Must really be mad if we expect to do the same things and expect different results . Must make it a point to meet with Latapy to find out what scene he on ....Latas play too much big football to be just going through the motions like this ...it have more here ...

Not understanding what u are saying. Do we have another 20 players that can be picked that are clearly better than the ones picked here? When u say "do the same things" what do u mean? to me the man picking the best players available (localy), training them and playing the game, what else are u expecting Latapy to do differently?

how Marshall dey and still no birchall

Marshall is an insurance player for L.A. and they are able to excuse him for the playoffs bec they just got another defender healthy. Birchall on the other hand, from what I heard, was declared unavailable by the club due to playoffs.

He is very slow.

That's a big problem.

Yuh could teach many things in football.  Speed is not one of them....ESPECIALLY the position he plays.

Speed not only in general but most importantly in recovery is mandatory for the modern wing back.  You HAVE TO be able to AT LEAST keep up with the opposition wide player or else you have no chance.

I liked him when I saw him play for the U20's.  Thought he had a chance at a future and I really didn't notice a significant lack of speed.  But that's at the U20 level even though it's against the best U20's in the world.  In big man football, is a different kettle of fish

You can "teach" speed.

you can't teach speed, you can teach sprinting but speed is one of those things u have or dont. I wasn't impressed with him at the world cup and he's very slow indeed but at the end of the day a trial in the MLS at age 19 is impressive speed or no speed. Wish him all the best.

a great man once said..."there are no moral victories" we ARE the best team in the Caribbean..easily!! our youth teams qualify for more WC's...our senior team goes deeper in WC qualifyin every 4yrs more consistently..our clubs represent the region annually in the Concacaf CL..individually our players have played for bigger clubs across europe and continue to get bigger ratings...no excuse for losing twice to a team in dat space of time. our players must be made to know d importance of WINNING games like these...rebuilding, local based players, shit coach/ great coach wit no quality players, bad administration....excuses!!! bottom line, no country in d Caribbean should be beating us...we have set d bar for football in dis region n our admins, coaches and players need to keep it dat way

We are no longer the best team in the caribbean; stop living in the past. We are among the best in the caribean.

Nice to see some improvement from the side. The young fellas Jones and Cyrus will be around for a very long time. Peltier was a disappointment; I expected him to play better being given an opportunity to play in a big rivalry game but he looked horrible. Peltier is one of those players who needs to be abroad to help define his game bec right now he is incredibly quick but that's all he has to offer, the other skills necessary aren't there.

The midfield was solid but we need to replace one of them with Birchall when the meaningful games come. Shocking that Hector isn't playing abroad; someone needs to sign him because he could be a boss player if he was playing on a higher level more frequently.  Jan M Williams and M Phillips will serve us well in goal for the next few years. We still need to find a LM bec that’s not Daniel's natural position and Pelitier not ready. Cupid was solid at RB but Wolfe Might be better.

Silvio Joins Trini Pro League
wrexhamafc.co.uk

SILVIO Spann has returned to Trinidad and signed for W Connection in the local Pro League.

It is the fourth time Silvio has joined up with the Couva-based club on the island. They use the Manny Ramjohn Stadium for home games and currently sit third in the 10-team division.

I still feel Silvio never had a fair chance to play his natural position which is just behind the strikers. He played right mis, right back, Defensive mid and all kind of other positions but the best I ever seen this guy play is as a creative attacking mid.

Wish him luck and I hope he make sa successful comeback.

he dropped the best local creative mid in guerra for no apparent reason.

latas is a borse footballer but a shithong coach
Guerra has performed ordinarily in all the opportunities he's had at the national level. What exactly makes him the best creative mid, because you like his style of play>>

After watching Guerra nuff times for both club and country I have to agree he is a nice porspect because he def shows flashes of above average skill BUT for the most part and most of the times he's just another ordinary pro league player. H Hector in my opinion is the best creative mid next to K Daniel (when he playes in the middle)

you need a good coach to take the above avg skill and convert it to intl status. latas dont have that, neither does he have the vision for team selection

daniel with all the hype aint in guerra class if guerra is given a fair chance with a intl coach

The national team is no place to be transforming players, that is what clubs are for. National team only get to spend a certain amt of time with players and that time is used to train for tactic and strategy for up coming games. Teaching Guerra how to friggin trap and pass is not the role of the national coach, the coach expects when men come to training for the national team all that already learnt.

As for daniel compared to guerra, who is playing foreign and who is stucked in the pro league. Now don't get me wrong I absolutely like Guerra as a future prospect but he really has to improve and I wish he had more speed. Guerra is one of those guys who wont reach his full potential unless he train with a bigger clup abroad; if he does then yes he will end up being better than daniel but right now daniel and hector has more to offer.

Is Latas trying to say that the local leagues in the countries in the region that we have lost games to like Jamaica and Panama are better than our local league and our loses are not down to him as coach based upon his player selections as well as tactics he has adopted on the field?  ???

ummm bro, their local leagues are better and the players they producing better hands down.

You guys kill me. I see nothing wrong with Latapy's comments. The local based def need more internationals to gain the experience necessary to compete on a high level. No less than 20 international CAPs will be required to bring our pro league poor quality players up to a decent level where they can represent TnT respectably. How many CAPs have they had so far under Latapy>>, Most of them I doubt more than 10.

I respect Latapy for realizing that taking an all local based team to the D Cup will not bring positive results based on what he's seen of them under his tenure. He's now amended the plan as any good manager would. He has my utmost support bec everything from his tactics to player selection has been decent to good. The foreign based that he has brought in for the next friendly are exactly who we should be looking at. Don't mention Birchall bec Latapy don't need to look at him, he is already pencilled into the team, the question with Birchall is if he's going to start or be off the bench but calling him against Jamiaca when you till trying to evaluate H Hector and Peltier against better oposition makes no sense.

I support Latapy completely because EVERYTHING he has done in terms of a staged development of our national program has made complete sense so far; results of games is irrelevant at this early stage, results are necessary in the D Cup and beyond but not in the player evaluation stage.

Nice team; not sure any of your CBs are better than James tho. James right now is on top of his game and i'd argue he's currently the best CB we have right now. Does Hector play on the wing tho> and I sure Keon Daniel and Scotland can make the cut. otherwise thats a nice line up.

I eh know what tuh say nah, but it has been difficult to watch JP in de Champions League. Dey have conceded 17 goals in 5 games in de Group Stage, plus 4 goals in 2 games in de qualifiers. Dey have looked embarrasingly out of place.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/4AoIcxKkDb4" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/4AoIcxKkDb4</a>

These are the same players and type of players Latapy has to work with but when we get licks everybody calling for Latapy head. It's frustrating that our fans wont accept that the current crop of ballers are simply not very good and our local pro league isn't much better than Grenada's. Latapy has his hands full trying to develop this group.

143
Agreed. Like all of those players including peltier except we give that guy 2 much props. Peltier is one of those players that have all the tools for the game but he doesn't seem to have the brain for it. He's still young tho so maybe he'll develop to his full potential in th enext few yrs.

That funny, because de players you describing sounds a little like Kenwyne Jones, Theo Walcott, Collin Samuel, Ryan Babel, Kerwin Jemmot, Jerol Forbes, Gorean Highley, Josmir Belgrave... etc etc.
so in other words he can either turn into Kerwin Jemmot or Theo Walcott which is my point he is an undefined and unproven play who can be a big bang or bust, right now tho he's a bust imo

144
Sam, how is Y.Marshall a great centre back in the making?  Is your statement based on a recall to the Galaxy?

Keon Daniel's head no where near football!! Please dont compare him or even put his name close to Latas!

Hector is not in the league with Carlos Edwards..........a totally different type of player

I agree with you on the Marvin Phillip, Khaleem Hyland, Julius James, Jake Thomson

Why no Kenwyne Jones......he's only 25 and Chris Birchall?

Yes, Marshall is a good one for the future and yes because he was recalled by LA and yes because he plays in a better league and than anyone of our central defenders at the moment, and yes because he have a good attitude, and yes he have the size and speed, so give him time.

And I mention Daniel is lazy, but he can be a great player, Latapy was great for T&T only in the late part of his career like Yorke was when it comes to T&T football. He was more complete in other words, Latapy use to beat though many players but in de end, Costa Rica, Mexico and USA use to still buss we ass most of the times.

Never said Hector was better than Edwards.

And I said Brichall and Jones will play a BIG part for our 2014 and 2018 push. Like I said, EXPERIENCE players, I never said old.

Again, allyuh not getting de picture.

And why cant these players be better or equally as good, tell me why ?

Some players develop before others, give them time, they might surpirse many here.

People to fixated on the results.

How we play the game at this time is most important.

Results will matter with the digicel cup.

As long as we make the semis at least I happen so we can continue to the gold cup.

realistically many of these players will be replaced by foreign based. The key is to find the 4-5 men who can hold down a place and help the squad.

Latapy needs to identify these new men and get them ready for the world cup qualifiers.

I have faith he can do this.

In the process performances will be up and down as men are evaluated.

Hold some strain!

Is it acceptable to collect 3 in our own yard from arch rivals like Jamaica in the process when they are fielding a similar mainly local based team and also evaluating players?!  :-[

Like yuh feel we competing with Faroe Islands, Iceland, India & Equitorial Guinea for being the biggest fallers in the World Fifa rankings for nothing or what?!  ???

Is it possible that Jamaica's local players are simply more talented than and that has nothing to do with coaching.. How much more qualifications does Whitmore have over latapy>>> I watched that game repeatedly and Jamaica was simply more talented and there is no crime there, it is what it is.

Load of hog wash! Jamaican local players are no more talented than ours its just that Latas persist with not using our most talented local players that's all!

Another important decisive factor in that game was coaching and tactics, Latas simply got outmatched and got a good schooling by Whitmore!

Again, after watching that match good and proper, the Jamaicans looked better hands down. Coaching wasn't y we lost that game it was talent or lack there of.

Again yuh suffering from reading comprehension difficulties!

I hear yuh, but other than the players that he's used in recent matches, who is clearly more talented than those he already has, and I mean CLEARLY more talented. What ppl do around here is throw various names and prospects into the fold as players who should be picked blah blah blah but none of thos enames are leaps and bounds better than the ones who have been in these last few games. They are all around the same shitty level.

Innocent question... How many times should a player be picked for the team, before the coach should realize he not good enough?  I am curious because I know we had written some players off (Cyd Gray) and after sometime, most people had him as a starter when it was "name your team"

Thank you :). Before Cyd Gray and many others became regular and reliable starters for T&T they played a bunch of tata while gaining their experience. I remembered when Gray was the worse thing we ever saw at right back but then a few years later all we wanted was Cyd at right back and no body else. 1/2 of these current players who getting licks and playin shit are going to get much better for it and will be regulars for us just like gray, its all about player development and the growing pains associated with development.
