The real deal with the Trinbago U-21 vs Chicago Fire game
« on: February 13, 2006, 10:19:07 PM »
Trinidad and Tobago started the game playing a 4-4-2 system. The starting line up featured:-

Thorn Holder- Goalkeeper

Backline-Marshall, Hislop, Akil and Carlon

Midfield-Neaves, Belgraves, khalim, Hayden tinto

Forwards-Randy patterson (new player), kevin Crooks

The first third was a very sloopy encounter with Trinibago looking like a team that did not know anything about the game. Changes were made and with that came some improvements. The team played a total of 3 thirds

In the last 3rd, which happened to be the best 3rd of the game, Gorian Highley and Kevon Neaves light up things for Trinidad. They switch to a 3-4-3 formation with Jermin, Highley and Patterson starting up top. Keaves had a rocket well saved from 30 yards out and minutes later Gorian nearly scored from a cross ball. The cross came across from the right hand side, Higley stretch and made contact with his left foot driving a shot low and hard down in the corner but the keeper was up to the task.

The defence was outstanding in the last 3rd and only allowed 1 goal against a solid MLS team which was Anchored by Hislop and Marshall. The lone goal came from a mix up between defenseman Hislop and  goalkeeper Holder. That left a unmark Fire player to tap it into a open net.

The next game is tomorrow. The guys are very confident and relaxing tonight with card games in the camp. They all believe that they would play better tomorrow. Ancil Farrier will join the camp tonight. He had missed his flight due to a snow storm watch.

Final score: - Trinidad and Tobago under 21 team 0
                  Chicago Fire 1

Did the Chicago Fire play with intensity like they really wanted to win, or was it a case of just going through the motions ?

Good result, but I've seen pre-season pro teams play games like this in pure warm-up fashion (strolling along the pitch with no sense of urgency).......

the result could flattering.......Kingman give us de scoop on that......

Boss no one trying to change anything. This is standard for games such as these once both coaches agree. It allows the coaches time to work on various thing while playing a competitive game. After all nothing is involved. When Barca came to the USA they did the same in one of their warm up sessions before they played the series.

"trinbago" yuh done know them aren’t any better. Is only men like truetrini who like to be sarcastic, calling man genius and them nonsense. He just want to make a seen out of a non-seen and all ah we here know very well what I mean. Anyways I will give you guys a similar run down when d game finish tonight. Thanks for the correction truetrini. Appreciated boss!! ::) :rotfl:

"kicker", according to ah youth on d team, the game was not a high intensity game. Chicago Fire was switching up their men too and trying to feel out men. In other words, it was a practice match for both teams. I will call him back again later and get more run down because they were about to have lunch and he was busy.

"dombasil ," i does play any defensive position.

So Ancil Farrier and Kareem Smith did not play ? ah wonder what happened to Smith.

Neaves is a boss ah feel he might just squeez into de senior team, and I like how he getting fit for the Iceland game, he grabbing de chance with both hands.

That's good that the coaches agree to play in 1/3s. It give coaches abetter chance of working on tactics and having a better look at players in different positions. Great report man.

I heard about the 1-o loss to Chicago fire and was greatly impressed by the fight our guys put in. This team is a team to watch for the future. Whatever happen with the Saratoga FC game any reports on that. Also when will we be playing Kansas City Wizards.
