Five of the eight junior players who were attending trials for the national Under-18 football team have been forced to abandon the trials because funds for their transportation to Trinidad has not been forthcoming.
However, the duo of Krista Winchester and Kenya 'Ya Ya' Cordner who are determine to represent their country are now financing there own trips to Trinidad in order to stay in contention for selection.
The Tobago House of Assembly Sports Division have funded the players transportation up to the date requested based on a letter from the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation according to football coach Corbin Cooper who works with the players in Tobago.
According to Cooper, the Sports Division needs another letter from the Federation indicating the relevant information pertaining to the trials because the dates for which funding was requested for the trials in the first letter have been completed.
However, the Federation is insisting that they have sent the letter while the Sports Division is claiming they have not received any letter. Meanwhile some of the youngsters have been forced to abandon the training because of the inefficiency of one of the organisations.
