Bolton’s Samuel looking for improved performance
By Pat McGatt (clicklancashire.com)

Wanderers full-back Jlloyd Samuel wants to get back to winning ways and arrest his side’s alarming slump in form.

The defender returned to action in Saturday’s defeat at home to local rivals Blackburn.

He said: "We wanted to do well for the fans because they have given us a great backing recently and it was even more disappointing because it was a derby game.

"It was one of those games. It wasn't pretty - it was never going to be - and it was all about which team got in front.

They took their chances but we couldn't convert ours. Bibi had a couple and Matt's free-kick was another that comes straight to mind, and then there was the one that Ivan had cleared off the line at the end.

"We were not as sharp as we have been, but that's something we can work on and put right.

“That's what we'll be doing this week because we want to get back to the levels and type of performances we put in against Spurs and Everton."
