U.S.A concacaf unfair advantage
« on: July 22, 2009, 01:01:33 PM »
why is that evan though the ttpro league has won the majority of the CFU Club championship that we are still unable to get at least one direct spot into the group stages, as it stand these are the current qualifications

From the North American Zone:

    4 clubs from Mexico
4 clubs from the United States
    1 club from Canada

From the Central American Zone:

    2 clubs from Costa Rica
    2 clubs from Honduras
    2 clubs from El Salvador
    2 clubs from Guatemala
    2 clubs from Panama
    1 club from Nicaragua
    1 club from Belize
From the Caribbean Zone:

3 clubs, qualifying via the CFU Club Championship

why is is that that crappy MLS League gets 4 spots and as history shows more Costa Rican Teams have won the previous tournament than American Teams which only on it twice....and trinidad adnd tobago won it twice and still has to play in the Cfu and then a play off which is very unfair Mexican Teams won the Cup a total of 22 times with costa rica second with six and a total of 6 for caricom and we dont evan get at least one direct spot ...not to metion that the t&t teams were the most sucussfull considering runners up spots. (trinidad dese

CONCACAF GOLD CUP
why is it that this federation allows the U.S to repeatedly host the cup even if there stadiums are in better quality as compared to the other nations but that is still not a proper excuse as this is our confederations Premier tournament and it should be hosted by a different country from cup to cup as with other practise yet the since the inception of the Gold cup in 1991 the U.s has hosted every single Cup with the Exception of two Which was held together with Mexico..giving them a clear advantage allowing them to win Four Cups.

But what is shocking is that the associations/federations of the member nations of the confederation are allowing this is it because they are bribing the our confederation and Jack Warner

this is unfair treatment

I agree. Very unfair. Panama with 2 spots, Guatemala with 2. I thought that the spotswould be determined based on level and quality of football in concacaf nations.

bingo money talks. if the proleague can put out full stadiums (huge tickets profit) and the amount places like costa rica, mexico, etc. then they will get respected and more spots.

It might be unfair from a Football point of view but Football today has a business component attached to it,where money can be made is where the tournaments will be played, how many contries have the infrastructure to host tournaments like the US,even if the spots would be determined based on level and quality of Football in CONCACAF nations, peeps on here saying the MLS level poor so what they say about our own Pro league?

Ask someone from Nicaragua or Haiti. The former has a population of approximately 5 million people with another million living outside of Nicaragua (around 300,000 in the US). There are approximately 500,000 Haitians living in the US and it's probably more since there are most likely many undocumented arrivals.

Based on our league size and organisation I can't see why we would think we're entitled to an automatic spot. In addition to that our clubs don't even advance deep into the tournament to say that the quality of the football demands an automatic spot. The lack of quality in other countries' domestic leagues is not a strong point for the automatic spot either. That's like saying 2 wrongs make a right.

Compared to our football league the MLS is miles ahead of us. When have we ever been able to attract the likes of Djorkaev, Beckham, Ljundberg or Angel to name a few?

I failed to specify .... how many/ who/ which fans in TRINIDAD will pay to go see these matches? .... hard to see more than 100 Trinis showing up for an opening round game featuring this team, or any other team that is not the home team.

the only reason why those players are there is because of the money.....what kinda of world will it be if almost everyone choose money over quality. continually ...besides becham wants to leave badly...and the rest of guys are old washed up has beens

the MLS is way to over rated they force that crap down our throats on FSC so much that we are starting to accept it..they make a whole host of competition to show off/Promote how far mls has come and they always lose them e.g supa liga, Us Camel Cup & pan pacific Championship(gamba osaka of japan totally crushed the huston Dynamos 6-1 in there own country)  (all hosted in the U.S.A).the only accomplishment to that league is that any old age European Football star trying to hold on to some glory/money will go there

All the MLS has is money
