Anybody hear about a friendly coming up on the 27th of April between us and Puerto Rico?

If it does come off, I suspect it would be another closed door affair like the match against Guyana - basically a glorified scrimmage - which would explain why there's no trace of it on Fifa's fixture list (the Guyana match wasn't counted as an international as as such we get no ranking points for that match)

It would also suggest that it would be another chance for fringe of the fringe players to be looked at

Brazil men's soccer team bringing top players to Seattle for match against Canada

By José Miguel Romero

Seattle Times staff reporter

Brazil's men's national soccer team is scheduled to play Canada at Qwest Field on May 31, and look for Brazil to bring a good share of its top players.

Forwards Ronaldinho, Robinho and Alexandre Pato and midfielder Kaká are expected to be called up to the national team for its Seattle appearance. The 7:30 p.m. game will serve as a tuneup for Brazil's World Cup qualifying match against Paraguay on June 14 in South America.

Brazil has been to Seattle before. It faced the USA League XI in a 2-0 win in the USA Bicentenary Cup in May 1976. Canada, led by midfielder Dwayne DeRosario of Major League Soccer's Houston Dynamo and midfielder Julian de Guzman of Spain's Deportivo de La Coruna, last appeared in Seattle at Qwest Field in July 2005. It fell to the U.S., 2-0, in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Canada is preparing for the start of 2010 World Cup qualifying as well, with a match against St. Vincent and the Grenadines on June 15 in Jamaica.

Tickets for Brazil-Canada go on sale Monday at 10 a.m. Ticket prices range from $35 to $125 and can be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at 206-628-0888, visiting www.soundersfc.com or www.ticketmaster.com, and in person at all Ticketmaster outlets or the Qwest Field box office.

Tickets will be sold in advance of the general public for all Sounders FC season ticket holders. For information on Sounders FC season tickets, call 1-877-MLS-GOAL.

Jamaica, Haiti friendly off

Quote
Jamaica's Reggae Boyz will see a second straight friendly international fail to materialise, after the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) was forced to call off the country's proposed friendly international against Haiti, following what has been described as negligence on the part of the organisers.

In the meantime, the JFF was in discussions last night with the Barbados Football Association (BFA) seeking to arrange an international football encounter between their senior teams.
