Brazil's men's national soccer team is scheduled to play Canada at Qwest Field on May 31, and look for Brazil to bring a good share of its top players.
Forwards Ronaldinho, Robinho and Alexandre Pato and midfielder Kaká are expected to be called up to the national team for its Seattle appearance. The 7:30 p.m. game will serve as a tuneup for Brazil's World Cup qualifying match against Paraguay on June 14 in South America.
Brazil has been to Seattle before. It faced the USA League XI in a 2-0 win in the USA Bicentenary Cup in May 1976. Canada, led by midfielder Dwayne DeRosario of Major League Soccer's Houston Dynamo and midfielder Julian de Guzman of Spain's Deportivo de La Coruna, last appeared in Seattle at Qwest Field in July 2005. It fell to the U.S., 2-0, in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Canada is preparing for the start of 2010 World Cup qualifying as well, with a match against St. Vincent and the Grenadines on June 15 in Jamaica.
