Another woman footballer gets schol
Trinidad Newsday
ANOTHER national woman footballer is off to the United States on a full scholarship at a university.
The latest is Real Dimension defender Jamelia Mathlin who left for South Georgia College.
A member of the national team, Mathlin is on a full four-year schol.
She has starred for Real Dimension at both full back and midfield when her team won the double crown last season.
Mathlin becomes the eighth member of the champion team to get scholarships at universities in the United States. Her airfare to the USA was fully sponsored by NGC for which Mathlin has already sent her thanks.
Meanwhile, Real Dimension, despite losing their eight players continued their dominance over the women’s game.
Recently, they shut out Central United 3-0 with Niasha Reyes scoring a double and national striker Alana Burgin getting the other goal.
But arch-rivals Joe Public smashed UWI 6-0 in the other Premier Division match in the Trinidad and Tobago Women Football League.
Avanell Isaac had a fine game scoring a hat-trick while Jana Marie Chee Wah, Arielle De Quesnay and Sarita Katwaroo added one each.
