Scotland at the double to save Swans

Jason Scotland completed a comeback from two goals down to earn a precious point – but it wasn’t enough to stop the Swans slip off the play-off pace.
A 49th minute opener from John Macken was followed up by a contentious Barnsley penalty from Jamal Campbell-Ryce to leave the Swans with a second-half mountain to climb.
But a Jason Scotland strike on 66 minutes was finally added to in injury time to seal Swansea’s fourth draw on the trot.
Leon Britton had seen one early attempt blocked by Bobby Hassell before Owain Tudur Jones wasteful shot over from close range inside six minutes.
But it took the good form of Swans goalkeeper Dorus de Vries to keep the hosts in it at the break, saving well from Miguel Mostto on 20 minutes.
Mark Gower went close before Heinz Muller saved once from Tom Butler four minutes from the break, pulling off the second half of a great double stop when he clawed away sub Gorka Pintado’s rebound.
But Barnsley made the most of the missed opportunities when Campbell-Ryce’s shot came off de Vries into the path of Macken who slotted home.
Within six minutes Campbell-Ryce grabbed one of his own when he slotted home from the spot following an Ashley Williams handball.
Scotland offered hope when he fired home from outside the box following a neat turn and twice Barnsley’s Dennis Souza got in crucial blocks before he finally grabbed the leveller in stoppage time.
