« on: April 05, 2010, 11:58:19 AM »
Derby   1 - 3   Ipswich.
BBC Sport.

Ipswich beat 10-man Derby to record their second win in three days and all but ensure their Championship status.

Gareth McAuley's deflected shot put the visitors ahead after Grant Leadbitter's left-wing cross had been blocked.

Carlos Edwards made it 2-0 with a neat close-range finish before Rob Hulse's header gave Derby late hope.

Rams boss Nigel Clough was sent to the stands and midfielder Stephen Pearson saw red for foul language ahead of Wickham scoring Town's third goal.

Derby were unbeaten in five matches going into the game but are now just six points above the relegation zone.

However, following their win at Pride Park, Ipswich now have a nine-point cushion between them and the drop zone with four games left to play.

In other news, Stern got a full 90 in Crystal Palace's 3-1 win against Preston. That win took CP one point above the relegation zone.
