Ma Pau coach to intensify training following goalless draw
TT Pro League.com

A disturbed coach Michael McComie said that training sessions will be intensified following his team's disappointing goalless draw against St. Ann's Rangers on Friday night.

McComie explained that the result was purely because of a lack of professionalism by his players and that Rangers didn’t play anything special.

“The result was disappointing,” said the Ma Pau coach. “We dominated possession, numerous goalscoring opportunities and corners, but the most important statistic is that Rangers were able to remain on level terms with us at the end.

“Our players received a very stern tongue lashing, purely verbal and not what is becoming the norm of physical abuse by other coaches as seen on tv,” chuckled McComie.

Ma Pau players were back on the training pitch from 7am on Saturday morning following their defeat.

"We're stepping up the training sessions, twice a day and three days a week,” added the former League winning coach.

“In the game (against Rangers) we started off a bit too slowly and that’s as a result of the attitude of our players. They were too complacent and as a result we couldn’t apply the pressure we wanted against Rangers in the first 20 minutes. The pace and tempo we started with in the second half, is the kind of pace that we would have liked to have started the game with. But, we had another problem and that was the lack of composure in font of goal and it cost us dearly with a number of players failing to convert open chances.

"We expected a tough game and just as planned, Rangers decided to pull off and defend in their own half. In terms of our game plan we were spot on, they didn’t play anything new, and it was what we expected. But again the result was purely because of a lack of professionalism by our players who dropped the level of their game because it was against Rangers."

McComie further added that he is satisfied with the forwards he has available—Lester Peltier, Trevin Caesar, Shandell Samuel (didn’t feature against Rangers) and Kerry Noray— we will work on building back their confidence, and changing the team’s attitude towards the game during the two week break before our next game against San Juan Jabloteh to be played on Saturday 15 May at the Larry Gomes Stadium.

And to know he bought all Fenwick players this season.  ;D
The real measure of a man's character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out.

Well, I guess Angus Eve calling all he padnas over from when he was asst coach. But Fenwick like to focus on the youth, so is no scene.
