For the third time in as many meets in Finland this season, Trinidad and Tobago's Josanne Lucas was the class of the women's 400 metres hurdles field, the 26-year-old athlete winning easily at Sunday's Savo Games.Lucas clocked 56.36 seconds for a comfortable cushion on second-placed Latosha Wallace (57.31) of the United States. Finland's Ilona Ranta (57.79) bagged bronze.
On June 30, Lucas triumphed at a meet in Espoo, the 2009 World Championship bronze medallist getting home in 55.41 seconds. And last Thursday, she earned gold number two, winning the one-lap hurdles in Lappeenranta in 56.42.
World Championship men's 400m bronze medallist Renny Quow was also in action on Sunday. The Florida-based T&T athlete finished fourth in the men's 200m, at the El Hassan meet, in Tanger, Morocco. He clocked 21.69 seconds. The run, though, was actually better than the time suggests. Quow and his rivals had to battle a strong 5.6 metres per second headwind on the straight. Continue..
