Good anti virus checkers for Windows

Fellas ah get an illegal Windows 2002 for the office.

I need a good virus checker. I am aware of what exists.  But as I usually use a Mac, I don't know which might be better or less problems.

Also are these free ones much good.

I looking at using Zone Alarm for now.

Would appreciate some suggestions.

I've been using AVG free for years now and have never had any infections which is really good considering the amount of warez I've download in that time period.

home edition is free.

no problems with it nor does it take up too much system resources
