Respect to those guys.... I hope that they are never forgotten. Hopefully the TTFA can have a picture of them up at the stadium also. Possibly a team photo in the new Joma home kit. That will be special to them.

Everytime I hear this story I feel as if it just happened, where was FIFA officials then, who knowS how badly it affected the growth of TT football.I read an old Football magazine and English friend gave me,he said he never knew we had such good fballers.I feel our English coach should have protested, and the officials investigated, however they were later banned by FIFA for life.
NOTING WILL EVER MAKE UP FOR THAT DAYLIGHT ROBBERY. :(

The Trinidad and Tobago Football Association wishes to extend deepest condolences to the family of Former National Player Lawrence Rondon who passed away at age 68 on Friday morning.

London, a former St Benedict’s College standout was a member of the Trinidad and Tobago team that  narrowly missed out on qualification for the 1974 World Cup. He played in all five of the final round qualifying matches in Haiti in 1973 including the famous 4-0 victory over Mexico.

TTFA President David John-Williams paid tribute to Rondon for his services to the country.

“Lawrence was a tower of strength in defence for Trinidad and Tobago during his career. The thoughts of the  Trinidad and Tobago Football Association and its board of directors are  with Lawrence’s family at this point in time. He is someone who made a  great contribution to football in this country. We will like to express our deepest sympathy on his passing and our prayers are with his family at this most difficult time,” John-Williams stated.

The TTFA also wishes to advise that Director of Football Muhammad Isa is now out of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) but remains warded at the San Fernando General Hospital.

“He is now out of ICU and we are thankful to God and everyone who has offered their prayers and support. He is coming along well but is still under watch. The family will like to specially thank the group of doctors and staff who have attended to Dad who have acted in a most efficient manner upon his arrival, during the emergency surgery and post-surgery,” Isa’s daughter Althea Reefer stated.

HCS or elsewhere should have a football museum and fan experience, borrowing from what you see at major venues.  Images of these guys plus 90 plus 06 squads  etc.  Equipped with booths where you can take pictures with famous players etc.  Visitors and locals alike will pay $$ for this type of stuff.  One of my most proud footballing local moment is having an English store clerk at a football store follow me around to learn more about Yorke and Latapy, and I am not even the expert
