TTFF refute staff cuts.

THE TRINIDAD and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF) has refuted claims that there were retrenchment within the staff at its headquarters on Dundonald Street, Port-of-Spain this week.
Speculation arose recently that the TTFF were without funds to pay its workers, and notices were given on Monday that the staff would not be paid until the Federation replenishes its capital.
But TTFF president Lennox Watson stressed yesterday, “as the president of the organisation, I did not lay off any staff.”
He went on to state, “as the president, I do not know of any bankruptcy situation in the organisation. People have been calling me about laying off staff, I don’t know about that. The staff are in the office working.”
Last month, the TTFF’s headquarters was served with a levy from 13 Soca Warriors players, who are involved in a court matter concerning bonuses from the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
And the players seized assets from the Federation in their quest to recoup the outstanding sums.
“The Soca Warriors case is in the courts. The Soca Warriors’ levy on us, I mentioned they have a court order (and) they exercised their rights. I cannot prevent them from exercising their rights.”
