2015 Caribbean Gold Cup 11
« on: July 28, 2015, 09:44:23 AM »
After watching every Gold cup game and viewing all the stats on concacaf.com, I compiled a Caribbean XI. . It was hard to put Cuba in, as they only had one good game.

GK - Placide (HAI)
RB - Lawrence  (JAM)
CB - Bateau (TRI)
CB - Morgan (JAM)
LB - Cyrus (TRI)
RM - Mcleary  ( JAM)
CM - Austin (JAM)
CM - Marquez (CUB)
LM - Jones  ( TRI)
ST - Nazon (HAI)
ST- Jones  (TRI)

Bench

Boucaud (TRI)
Jaggy (HAI)
Barnes (JAM)
Mattocks (JAM)
Cummings (TRI)
Marcelin  (HAI)
Abu Bakr (TRI)
Hector  (JAM)
Jerome (HAI)
Thompson (JAM)
Phillips  (TRI) the man save 2 penalties.. so hard not to include him

What all yuh think?

Hector has to be in the starting XI...even more so than Morgan IMO

No way Cyrus playing Left Wing Back.   He has a case as right wing back

It was a toss up between Hector and Morgan. On any day, they can replace each other.

I think the info I viewed had Cyrus as a RB.

Other than that Palos, you would go with this?

Cyah argue with the rest, although...tough to leave out Kevan George who IMO had a really outstanding Gold Cup for us.

Played every minute of every game, helped protect the back four, and did the simple things well...which often goes unnoticed

Yeah. This is a hard team to make. It was either George or Boucaud. I even had Hyland in the back of my mind. I chose Boucaud because he can play box to box. George more defense minded.

Hard to put a case for Jaggy or Cato over JJ. Also Reyes over Nazon? that is a hard one too.

Not even a question for me between George and Boucaud.  George played every minute of every game.  Boucaud played 1 full game.

Agreed... Although Boucaud did well in the limited time he had in the Cup, George was more impressive doing most of the dirty work.  He also didn't receive a card whole tournament. The kid has improved tremendously since his debut 2 yrs ago.

Can't recall seeing much of the Louis fella. Guerrier is good too.  I think this Caribbean XI will deal with a USA-Mexico XI or a central American XI.

After the 1974 world cup,  if I  remembered correctly, there was an all-star caribbean teams, all-star central American team and all-star North American team. They didn't play each other, they play top clubs like NY Cosmos , Miami Toros, Chicago sting, Millionarios from comlumbia and other North American club teams like Manic De Montreal which later became Impact de Montreal etc..It would be nice after the Gold cup to have a game like they do in the world cup ( The rest of the world vs the world champion).. It will be an entertaining game to have the rest of the CONCACAF Versus Mexico the champion ..A nice team with Players from the US , Caribbean and and central America to play Mexico
