The Columbus Crew and FC Dallas completed a deal Tuesday that sends Trinidad & Tobago international forward Cornell Glen to Columbus in exchange for the Crew's natural second-round pick in the 2006 MLS SuperDraft and a 2005 Youth International slot. Glen will be classified as a Senior International. To make room for Glen on their roster, the Crew waived veteran forward Dante Washington.
"We are excited about the addition of Cornell Glen," said Columbus Crew head coach Greg Andrulis. "Cornell is one of the rising young stars in the CONCACAF region. He is a dynamic forward who can change a game. We look forward to having another quality forward on the team."
A native of Port of Spain, Trinidad, Glen joins his third MLS team since coming to MLS for the 2004 season. Last year he was a member of the MetroStars and saw action in 18 games for the club, scoring six goals and adding two assists. He was then shipped to FC Dallas in exchange for the 12th overall pick of the 2005 SuperDraft, which the Metros used to select 18-year-old defender Tim Ward. Glen never made an appearance for FC Dallas in league play.
Prior to joining the MetroStars, Glen played professionally in his native land with San Juan Jabloteh. He has also appeared for the Trinidad & Tobago national team, scoring many goals for his country.
The release of Washington ends the 34-year-old's third stint with the Crew. In nine MLS seasons Washington accumulated 52 goals and 29 assists in 161 games played, including 111 as a starter. He also scored five goals and added one assist in postseason play.
"I want to thank Dante for his tremendous professionalism and commitment to the Columbus Crew," said Andrulis. "He is a first class individual who has had a positive effect on our team and our community."

This is great news. Columbus is a good football city in the US and we have a positive history there with Stern.

He should definitely hold down a starting spot.

Watch Glen take off now.

THE WARRIORS WILL NOT BE DENIED.

it was really odd reading the lack of football intelligence on the big soccer boards regarding the trade. they figure that since glen has only played one season with metros and that he couldnt start with dallas that he must be a bad player. glen is the most underrated player in concacaf. jdb, youre right, watch the man take off.

Kudos to his agent or whoever did this, at least it was done quickly.
Now it's up to Cornell since this situation is much better.  I not so sure he will start but the coach said,
"He is a dynamic forward who can change a game"
Initially he might be coming off the bench.  Once he is doing well he may get a few starts in the rotation.

Time for some goals so they could get his name right...like de 2 Ns tying up dey brain

Edson Buddle and Ante Razov are their starters.

David Testo listed as a forward but he is really play midfield from the articles I read.  He just sprain his ankle.

Player Stats

Those two other forwards have played just about every minute for the season so far(with good results) so he not walking into a starting spot.

bout 3/4 game of the season gone.....time for glenn to make his impact permanent and if possible make a europe move in the near future

even though the strength and character of the m,ls is good i still think glenn can use it as a stepping stone to championship or holland like beasley

cant really see him in the epl
now that we have mastered the language we can wield it as we may

Stern did for Crew, they didn't do for him.

razov proven scorer in mls former champion
hopefully they use 3-but nothing is promised to him good move cause he would have had to come really good to beat out ruiz and johnson in dallas
