I not really vex about Peru becuz they don't do too bad in S. America. Peru have this fella who plays for PSV, Farfan.

What really annoyin me is that they had promised we would play Czech Republic and there's no word on that.

I think someone mentioned here it have to do with d combined teams (men and women etc) and advances made to the local game dat factor in. With d lady warriors on d up we might rise a bit by this months rank (hopefully)

fellas i know everybody vex cause TTFF is bunch of idiots...but peru and iceland not that bad dred....we start off with some easier teams and progress to the harder ones...these are only the first 2 friendlies...we still have czech and the rest(hopefully) to look forward too in the Austria camp...

Peru just inconsistent...they not that bad.....they draw against uruguay 0-0, and beat them 3-1 in the last world cup qualifier...furthermore they beat paraguay 4-1, and tie dem 1-1....the same paraguay we playing....so they can't be that bad...(even though they lose to venezuela 4-1)

Iceland isn't that bad either..they only lose to sweden 3-1 in the last world cup qulaifier....

i know they have better team we could be playing....but small steps, and hopefully we could beat these teams and get some confidence...

nah man... we have to ease de players back into de team...... remember most of them players wouldn't have played together since de bahrain game.... plus honestly.... Peru ent goin to be no roll over team dred..... don't know much about Iceland but I sure Beenie had some say in which teams to pick.... and I'm sure he find some similarities in the styles of football....

Ah know because of de FIFA ranking system Peru and Iceland eh looking like formidable opponents, but they both have far more exposure and experience playing against some big teams in world soccer than us.

I still would have preferred T&T playing ah Norway or Uraguay, but de TTFF still negotiating dem other friendlies in May, so leh we keep we fingers crossed for some top opposition that will best prepare us for Group B.

Iceland is not a great squad, but certainly better than Bahrain, Guatemala etc.
And they play "English-style", so to me a good preperation!

I would have preferred to play Australia but for our first match since November with little time to prepare as a team, Iceland will be a good match for T&T.

What are we complaining about really. Iceland is not a bad team, they are Scandanavian like Sweden and were in a tough group for WCQ which included Sweden, Croatia, Bulgaria, Hungary and Malta. That's a harder group that the Hex. Iceland is a very good opponent and are quite capable of beating us if we played like the way we did against Bahrain. Peru, they are not world beaters but T&T isn't either and if they bring their full squad we will more than get a run for our money. PSV's Jefferson Farfan is a player of very good quality. These games will give us a fair gauge of how much work we'll still need to do.

i agree ironman, i ent know wat wrong wit us. Who do we think we are? Peru are a very strong team, in fact they are stronger than all the teams in the Hex except mexico and USA.

they have some excellent players like Farfan from PSV, Solano from Aston villa, and both Pizzaro and Claudio Paolo Guerrero from Bayern Munich.

Iceland is also a very nice breakout team for us to face so that we can gauge ourselves properly against a mediocre team with a similar style to england and sweden.

Some men really doh have any football sense. You play games that mirror your future opponents.

Therefore:

Peru ---> Paraguay

Iceland ---> Sweden (both Scandanavian teams, similar styles although of course Sweden has better players)
