ESPN International holds exclusive pay video rights throughout the Americas, in all languages across all pay video distribution platforms (pay TV, broadband Internet, and mobile devices), to the UEFA Champions League from Match Day 1 through the Final, for the 2006-2007 through the 2008-2009 seasons, for a period of 24 hours after kickoff of each match, via an agreement with Swiss sports marketing agency TEAM Marketing AG.

In the US, ESPN2 is required to air at least 13 matches live each season, with first pick of live match telecasts on each match day. ESPN360.com will simulcast each ESPN2 live telecast via broadband Internet.

ESPN International has sublicensed the second pick of live match telecasts in the US on each match day to Setanta Sports North America. Setanta Sports USA and Setanta Broadband will air the second choice live match.

ESPN Deportes will air 77 matches each season in the US in Spanish, with up to 25 matches live. ESPN Deportes will have the third pick of live match telecasts. ESPN360.com will simulcast each ESPN Deportes live telecast via broadband Internet.

Setanta Premium will offer matches involving Celtic of Scotland, plus matches involving Portuguese and Greek clubs, via closed-circuit TV to commercial establishments in the US and Canada if ESPN2 does not pick one of those matches for live broadcast.

In Canada, TSN (English) and RDS (French) will each air at least 25 matches, while TLN (Italian) will air all matches involving Italian teams plus the final.

After the exclusive 24-hour window has expired, each team is allowed by UEFA to distribute its UEFA Champions League matches on its own team-branded TV and broadband video networks to viewers worldwide.

Toulouse planning hot reception for Liverpool

Liverpool have been told they will be made to 'suffer' in the heat by Toulouse skipper Nicolas Dieuze ahead of their Champions League qualifier.

Last season's beaten finalists face a tough test in south France in the hottest part of the day, mid-afternoon, on Wednesday.

Considering Toulouse are are two games into their league programme - and arguably ahead of Liverpool in terms of preparation - the temperature could be a significant factor in the third qualifying round first leg.

Dieuze said: 'Given how hot it will be, and the fact we have had more preparation time than them, we hope we can make them suffer.'

Dieuze added that he believes Toulouse can produce 'something special' having beaten French champions Lyon 1-0 in the Municipal Stadium on Saturday.

It is Toulouse's first foray into European competition for 20 years after Elie Baup guided them to third place in the French league last term.

Dieuze added: 'We have great faith in our coach, we will follow his instructions. Baup knows all about European football and he can guide us to something special.'

Toulouse are looking to make the most of their day in the sun. The rugby town has not felt such excitement about a football fixture since Diego Maradona's Napoli were knocked out of the UEFA Cup in 1986-87 - and the locals are hoping for a similar upset.

With striker Johan Elmander back in form after scoring on Saturday, Baup's biggest concern comes at centre-back where regular pairing Dominique Arribage and Daniel Congre have long-term injuries and Hirita Ilunga is suspended.

Dieuze should partner Mauro Cetto, though the pair have never played together before. Midfielder Fabinho, meanwhile, is doubtful after sustaining a neck injury in training today.

Young goalkeeper Nicolas Douchez has impressed this term, along with Cameroon midfielder Achille Emana.

For Toulouse, it is their first time in the Champions League, and they qualified in controversial circumstances as they moved from seventh to third on the last day.

They had a poor run-in, losing four on the trot but their luck turned on the penultimate weekend of the campaign.

They were drawing 0-0 with now-relegated Nantes when the match was called off with four minutes remaining after a pitch invasion. Toulouse were later awarded all three points.

They then duly won their final game and their third-placed finish was assured when Lille scored an added-time equaliser to rob Rennes of a top-three spot.

I know the tournament already start but I didn't see another thread... Mods if there is one, feel free to merge.

Rosenborg Ballklub (Norway) vs. FC Copenhagen (Denmark) right now on FSC

2-0 Rosenborg as I type, in the opening leg in Trondheim, Norway, with the return leg scheduled for next Tuesday in Copenhagen, Denmark.  Ghanaian international Anthony Annan is one of the stars for Rosenborg.

The Champions League is experimenting with five officials this season, with an extra official on each goal line.  A little weird seeing them there... but I for one welcome it.

Rosenborg throw 'way about two clear goals and now Copenhagen pull one back in the 83', getting a crucial away goal to make the tie interesting again.

Make matters worse, Annan will miss the return leg on account of accumulation of yellow cards.

Yeah I noticed Gol in HD some weeks back.  FSC actually rolled out their HD broadcasts back in February, but DirecTV only kick it off last week Tuesday, in time for the new EPL season.  Lol@ them being "ghetto" doh.  I swear it always seem like dem fellas does be liming in ah booth watching de game on TV as they  broadcast.  Quiet quiet... and zero stadium ambience.

DeSoWa ah think that's what going on with Comcast... they ent decide if they want to go thru the hassle and expense of HD broadcast yet.

Well they need to win by what... at least one clear goal?  And hope Bremen ent score, which judging by the way they rip them up today, keeping a clean sheet not likely to happen.

FC Braga (Portugal) vs. Sevilla (Spain) up next on FSC.

This game is drama.
Sampdoria go up 3-0 and Bremen score in the 93rd to pull it back to 4-4 on aggregate. Each side with an away goal.  Extra time coming up.
