Greetings from Gillingham!  It's difficult to tell how fit Brent Sancho is at the moment as he's not getting games in the first team, just one or two appearances on the bench.  He had a big falling-out with our chairman over his trip to the WC qualifiers with T&T, and although they've officially apologised to each other I think a few Gills fans wonder whether the feud isn't actually still rumbling on, hence his failure to make the starting 11. :-[

On a brighter note, one of the UK's most colourful commentators (Stuart Hall) called Brent "the Flash Gordon of the Spanish Main" after one of our recent away matches!

Ian Cox has been in the wars - he got a bad cut to the head two or three matches ago which was re-opened when we played Chesterfield recently.  He'd been playing well up to then.

Latas is also the coach remember so he doesnt have to name himself in the playing team or maybe he felt like not playing.

Is this not a cup match??
I know many teams don't play their full stregth team when it is a team from a lower div they playing against..
Ah still feel bleeder coulda get a small sweat though, but I am not the coach and I not seeing how he adjusting to the life there.

"What does "the Flash Gordon of the Spanish Main" mean?"

Flash Gordon was a science fiction character, a sort of glamorous spaceman.  I think the Spanish Main is the Carribbean Sea.  Brent was wearing silver boots that day and I think the commentator meant it as a compliment!
