US beat Paraguay 1-0 on a penalty. Lots of new faces. US had the slight edge. Mexico lost to Croatia 1-0. The Croats are a very good team. Good skills. They match the Mexicans in every department.

En route to Bogota, the Panamanians have had to return to Frankfurt after the identification of a technical concern aboard the aircraft. Just like the 6-0, better now than later.

Just watched the US beat Bolivia 3-0 with a young squad with most of their players from Europe. Moore didn't even make the squad so there might be hope for us ;D

Keep in mind that Bolivia's squad was even less experienced than the US.

Watching Real Madrid getting picked apart by Atletico Madrid. 3 in 21 mins. But is only a "friendly". But you know in Madrid case that could be "friendly fired".

In El País , there's an excellent piece about the game.

The writer notes that Costa doesn't understand the concept of a friendly (" Diego Costa, un jugador que no entiende de qué va ese concepto de amistoso"), that the expulsions of Costa and Carvajal confirm what everyone already knew: derbies are always armed events (" a los derbis se va siempre con pistola") and that Vinicius Jr.  - despite being the only Madrid player who seemed perturbed by what was happening on the field and applied to try resolving the destruction - needs to find a better balance between his commitment to attacking intent/flair and his participation/contributions during defensive phases of play.

Ten goals is just what American fans/fans in America would embrace mid-summer but all de ole talk aside,  had Bale come on and brought Madrid back to equal terms there would be pandemonium and an inquisition in Madrid today. Friendly or not.

Watched Inter and PSG this morning, game went into pk's. All the final Inter player had to do was score their last kick and they win. He went for the chip down the middle and it hit the top of the cross bar then over the goal, so sudden death. It then dawned on me, was Yorkie the first player to try that pk in a top flight game?
