I've been trying to find a post I made about Di Maria before he became a senior team player. Fulfillment of promise ... exceeds the promise of fulfillment.

Neymar,Dunga of to winning start

bbc

Neymar scored the only goal of the game seven minutes from time as Dunga's second spell as Brazil boss began with a win over 10-man Colombia in Miami.

Barcelona forward Neymar curled home a free-kick to give the Selecao victory in their first game since finishing fourth at their home World Cup.

Colombia had been reduced to 10 men on 49 minutes, when Juan Cuadrado was sent off for a second bookable offence.

New Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao featured for 13 minutes.

The 28-year-old, who joined the Red Devils on loan for £6m on transfer deadline day, missed the World Cup after sustaining anterior cruciate ligament damage in January.

But his return as a late substitute for Colombia failed to prevent Neymar, captaining his country for the first time, from taking centre stage in front of a 73,429 crowd at Sun Life Stadium.

Two months after a challenge from Colombia's Juan Zuniga ended his World Cup at the quarter-final stage, the two players hugged on the pitch before kick-off.

Despite that, there was no shortage of tough tackles, with seven players booked.

Brazil had the better of the chances, and Diego Tardelli had a first-half effort ruled out for offside, but they could not find a way through until Neymar's late intervention.

Falcao had a a late opportunity to equalise, but could not divert his close-range header on target.

Dunga, who succeeded Luiz Felipe Scolari, said. "It is always good to win, especially with the criticism after the World Cup, some of which was very strong.

"This will help the players to regain self-esteem and confidence."

Mercy! Colombia came to unleash artillery on El Salvador. Some quality from several quarters, but James was especially pleasant to watch. The 2018 generation has promise aplenty.

Canada beware.

Fans of the game in Hong Kong got their money's worth, although ARG exploded for 7 unanswered goals. Some classic execution by the name brand ballers. For about 20 minutes ah couldn't walk away from the match. Entertaining passes and ball circulation.

Most goals by ARG since they trounced Serbia 6-0 in 2006!

1:0 and on Greek soil.

Germany had trouble with minnow Gibraltar, only 4:0 - the commentator say tongue in check does that mean Gibraltar is better than Brazil.

Scotland's goal over Ireland was pretty cool

This was a friendly in name only. Very good game to watch.

Klinsmann is really really trying to showcase Yedlin so Tottenham would have a little more faith in him, which is why they went with this formation. But that #23... he is just not ready to play with a back 3 alone. he did nothing the second half, give Yedlin way too much to do. That might work Omar Gonzales in that position. And Bobby Wood needs to stay home. He must be really impressive in training because this is the 3rd time I have seen him play and he still sucks. I swear the only player with potential to be great is Yedlin. I hope Tottenham doesn't ruin him.

If they play this team in the Gold Cup... we got a chance if we draw them.

Anyone saw the USAvs Panama game tonight?

USA 2 vs Panama 0 Bradley & Dempsey

Panama subbed in 2 players that was on the U20 team that smashed everyone in Jamaica last month. That is working with a plan.

The Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) has contacted the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) about arranging a friendly between the two nations this year.

If it happens I hope its an away game. Warriors need to be more comfortable winning away from home against good teams. We will need to beat teams away from home in the WC qualification campaign to have a serious chance of qualifying for Russia.

Orlando to host International Friendly
« Reply #778 on: March 19, 2015, 11:50:05 AM »
http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/orlando-city-lions/os-orlando-citrus-bowl-mexico-soccer-friendly-20150316-story.html

"Orlando is set to host an international friendly at the Citrus Bowl featuring the Mexican national team and Costa Rica.  According to a Deportes Monumental radio report out of Costa Rica, Ticos assistant coach Luis Marín confirmed a friendly against Mexico in June in Orlando ahead of the Gold Cup. In the interview posted four days ago, Marín said the exact date was not yet confirmed.

Orlando City has made clear its intentions to turn Orlando into a destination for soccer teams at both the club and international level. The city is bidding to host games during next summer’s Copa America Centenario, and the new soccer specific stadium will also host the Women’s College Cup in 2016 and 2017."

The TTFA continues to do a poor job of providing regular international friendlies for our team.  With Kevin Molino now a star midfielder along with Kaka at Orlando City, this is an ideal site to arrange friendly games against Latin American teams, as the Hispanic and Caribbean following in central Florida is large and soccer is becoming more popular in Central Florida.  There is no doubt that a Trinidad and Tobago v Panama or Trinidad and Tobago v Mexico, or T&T v Honduras game can draw large crowds to the Citrus Bowl; and it is not a long way for us to travel.   I was at the Citrus Bowl for the inaugural MLS game between OCSC and NYFC.  What a blast!  So my wish is that the TTFA will get off their butts and start seriously negotiating games for us.
Never, never, ever give up! Go T&T Warriors!
