In a follow up to yesterday’s news, Michael Ballack is denying reports out of England that he will move to Chelsea this summer. Reportedly, the Blues would make Ballack the richest player in the world with the transfer from Bayern Munich.

As teams ready themselves for the World Cup, there are a slew of friendly matches today. The U.S. face Poland in Germany, while Mexico face Ghana in Texas. Brazil battle Russia, England square off against Uruguay at Anfield. The highlight of the day pits World Cup hosts Germany against Italy in Florence.

Yesterday’s friendly action saw Japan tie Bosnia-Herzegovina 2-2 while Trinidad & Tobago beat Iceland behind two goals from Dwight Yorke. Remember who told you so when T&T surprises people in Germany!

Real Zaragosa have been fined 9,000 Euros by the Spanish Football Federation for the racist taunts directed toward Barca striker Samuel Eto’o during Saturday’s match. Seems a little weak to the Nooner. Maybe have them fork over more than their lunch money next time.
