Swans sign Gills defender on loan
BBC Sport

Swansea City have signed defender Brent Sancho from League One side Gillingham.

Trinidad & Tobago international Sancho has signed on for an initial month's loan and could feature in Tuesday's LDV Vans Trophy area final with Colchester.

Swansea manager Kenny Jackett was desperate to sign a defender after Kris O'Leary's two-match suspension for a red card added to his defensive woes.

Sancho, 28, has fallen out of favour at Gillingham recently, and was embroiled in a club-versus-country row last year.

hmph interesting.

It has taken too long. That Gillingham coach is ah selfish imps who obviously couldnt care less for Brent.

Its good he geh ah loan so he could ACTUALLY PLAY SOME FOOTBALL.

He needs to get a good run, it'll be good for his form and fitness aswell as cyd gray's letting him know he needs to keep on his feet all the time.

Sancho may take yuh spot.

damn glad tuh hear it too.

Sawnsea are a much better side than Gills.  Hope he can make the starting team and impress.  They have a good chance for promotion.  Check out who he's filling in for according to espnsoccernet.com

Swansea prepare for their LDV Vans Trophy Southern Area Final first leg against Colchester with a selection problem in central defence.
Kevin Austin is missing with knee ligament trouble leaving Garry Monk as the club's sole fit centre-half.  That means Alan Tate will move from midfield to defence as Kristian O'Leary, another midfielder who could have slotted into the back four, is suspended after being sent off in the weekend draw at Barnsley.
Darren Way is back after thigh problems and will play some part, while Roberto Martinez should start after coming on as a late replacement against Barnsley.
Colchester boss Phil Parkinson will choose from an unchanged squad.
Parkinson made a host of changes in the first three rounds of the competition, opting to give his fringe players a run-out, but with the Millennium Stadium just two games away he is set to field a stronger line-up.
Stephen Hunt and Marino Keith remain the Us' only absentees as they continue to recover from ankle injuries.
